Atmosphere - A nice place, decor is kind of a mix of wine bar and coffee shop. Laid back atmosphere, though the place is kind of small. It was pretty much full on a thursday night, so I would assume it can get uncomfortably packed on a Friday or Saturday. The only downside was the prevalence of Oldbags (dudes over 40, drinking Budlight and hitting on younger women) but they were pretty unobtrusive (and actually mildly entertaining).
The beer was good and served at proper temperature. Unfortunately, both of my selections ended up being served in shaker pints. This is less than ideal, though forgivable since I know these breweries aren't providing proper glassware for their beers yet. Some of the other beers seemed to be served in better glasses.
Service - Good service, two guys behind the bar were doing an admirable job keeping up with a busy bar.
Selection - Good selection, but not astonishing. About 20 taps, I had a Cigar City Maduro Brown and an Avery 16, both beers that you don't find at just any corner bar. The rest of the taps were less extraordinary, thought solid, selections except for PBR and a couple of ciders. Certainly the best selection I have seen in this part of FL.
Overall, this is a much better than average beer bar and much, much better than the otherwise disappointing options in the area. They have pretty much maxed out the space they have here and they obviously devote at least as much attention to their wine as the beer (which means the wine selection must be exceptional). I would love to see these guys open a full sized beer bar with a full kitchen in the style of the brick store and others. Based on what they have achieved with the Vine and Barley, I think they could really pull off something world-class if they went for it.

Being new to the area, and coming from places where great beer is in abundance (originally the Pacific Northwest, and then Southern California), I was filled with trepidation when it came to finding a decent watering hole, let alone a place that I could continue to explore new, intriguing and fascinating beers. Southern Florida is not exactly renowned for its beer culture.
Luckily, I have found just that place. The Vine and Barley is the perfect place to try new beers and enjoy fine quality brews. With a rotating selection of about 24 different beers on tap (about four of them are always the same while the rest rotate), this place certainly fills a void for beer adventure.
But, at the same time, there is consistency in what variety is presented at any given time. A good balance of styles from Pilsners to Stouts, Weizens to Trappist Ales and everything in between. I have yet to belly up to the bar and not be able to get a beer that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Although there's not much of a food selection, they do offer little bowls of pretzels to accompany your tasting adventures, as well as a small menu of meat and cheese plates. An added bonus is the fabulous wine tasting section, for those friends that don't really fancy a beer or an ale.
The price is right at the Vine & Barley, the selection is fantastic and the bartender is very knowledgeable. They will definitely show you a good time. If you're anywhere near Port St. Lucie, FL, you must check this place out.

I had always heard FL was virtually a wasteland of craft beer so when I started traveling to Port St Lucie for work recently I was thrilled to find this outstanding beer bar right down the street from my hotel. Located in a small but very comfortable space the bar is split between wine offerings up front with couches, etc and the bar and a few tables in the back with all the beer offerings. I believe they have 16 taps which are constantly changing as well as a number of bottles. Most beers are from high end American craft brewers but there are a few quality imports as well.
Prices for all beers are very reasonable (at least compared to New England prices) and the service is top notch. The bartender/owner is very friendly and has an outstanding beer knowledge. The clientele are all very friendly and welcoming local residents all with a passion for good craft beer.
Food offerings consist of meat and/or cheese plates. Portions are good and prices fair.
Overall I am definitely looking forward to making this establishment my regular place while I am travleing to FL. A must visit for any beer lover traveling to the Treasure Coast in FL.

I find the Vine and Barley an extremely relaxing and by far has the best selection of beer I have seen for the amount of taps they have. Every time you arrive which could mean daily the selection changes.
The owner has exceptional knowledge of beer and it shows in his choices for the approximately 16 taps that the Vine and Barley has. The food is limited to cheeses and fruit plates but many order in food from the neighboring establishments.
The clientel are friendly and most know good beer or have been brought there by beer lovers and want to experience the pleasure of a great pint of beer.
I would recommend this place to anyone and it should not be missed when visiting or driving by the Treasure Coast in Florida.

Thanks to my good friend Denny for taking me to the Vine & Barley while visiting over Spring Break.
Located in a small strip mall in Port St. Lucie West.
Very cool place indeed. Fairly small room that is split in half, one side dedicated to wine the other to beer. The wine side allows you to buy a card for a certain dollar amount then you can sample almost any wine by inserting the card into a machine then selecting the size pour you want. Nice idea.
The beer side is rather small with about 10 bar stools at the bar and a few tables scattered throughout the space. Nice interior. Looks like a good place to belly up to the bar. As for the beer. Good selection of taps, possibly the best in this area of Florida. Beers on hand were Avery Maharaja, Avery New World Porter, DFH 90, Chimay Red, Terrapin Hopsecutioner, Reinsdorff Kolsch to name a few. Bottle selection was equally impressive, from Orval to Cigar City Winter Warmer. Prices were great compared to the DC area from which I'm from. A tulip glass of Maharaja was 4.95 compared to about 8 bucks around my parts.
Food is an afterthought as they only server cheese plates. If you want something more substantial you can order from the restaurant next door and bring it in.
Overall, a really nice place to grab a beer, better than most places along the Treasure Coast. Definitely worth a stop if in the area.
Score is not as high because of lack of food, not beer, atmosphere or service.

I visited The Vine & Barley severals times while on vacation during Thankgiving. Great variety of beers on tap that change on a regular basis. They also have a self service wine section with 75 + wines available.
On the first visit tried DFH 90 Minute, Bells, Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale and found out they now have growlers and left with DFH 90.
On return trips tried some Brews from Cigar City in Tampa, Bells, Duvel and some samples of other brews suggested by the owner.
Great atmosphere as we enjoyed meeting some of the regulars whom frequent the Vine & Barley and felt welcomed to everyone we shared time with.
Really enjoyed the option to take home a growler of freshly tapped beer.
If your in the Port St. Lucie area this is a must stop place for beer.

I have heard about this place for a while and knew they had good beer on tap and also bottle. I met Mark the owner before the showing of Beer Wars and chatted with him about his bar. After speaking with him and he informing that Brooklyn Intensified coffee stout was going on draft I knew I had to make a stop. This place was set up
very nicely with couches and coffee tables placed and also a few high top tables. Nice granite bar that seats about 15. I was in turn greeted by Mark and he was quick to pour, the fine offerings at the bar. The service was top notch the place was busy and the staff kept up with the demand, very friendly and curtious. Selection on draft and bottle were impressive they had just about everthing you could get in florida even Cigar City. The food was your standard cheese, meat trays which were also excellent. Overall this place was a nice change of pace to the other places that I am use to, great service, great beer, friendly people.

This place ROCKS.
I went in for the first time a few days ago with a friend in the middle of the day to try their Flight of Four sampler. Little did I know that me and my buddy would be getting 2 samplers (each).
There were 24 brews on tap, we couldn't just try 4 if we were having samples.
We met one of the owners/operators of the shop, Kevin, and he was awesome to chat with. Totally friendly, loves beer, knows beer.
The sampler was reasonable considering the size of each sample, and the actual cost of the beers we were drinking.
At 5.95, it's a damned good deal.
Their full glasses range from 4 to 7 dollars, depending on what you're drinking.
Their glassware selection is also impeccable, you WILL be served your beer in the appropriate vessel.
24 taps line the area behind the bar and it looks like heaven. I wish I owned this place, I'd never leave. Bottle selection is incredible also, and they have better prices on their bottles than a lot of the stores in the area.
All in all, this is the best freakin' beer stop you're going to find on the Treasure Coast, no doubt about it.
If you stop in, stay and strike up a conversation with whoever is working that day, you'll be very happy you did.
If this place doesn't make you feel good, then you either don't like good beer, or good people... or you're just a recluse.
