I've been going here pretty frequently over the last 2 years, so I figured that I should probably finally do a beerfly. First off, we've been to a few other Rock Bottom restaurants and this one is hands down the largest that we've seen. It's probably a product of its surroundings, being located in the ultra huge and busy King of Prussia mall. The mall entrance leads into the large front dining area while the equally ginormous bar area has its own entrance from the back parking areas. The only stupid thing is that if you enter from the mall, you have to walk the whole way to where the bar (and the hostess station) is. We've always eaten and drank in the bar area because of the more festive vibe (as opposed to the much quieter dining area), either sitting at the rather large bar itself or at one of the surrounding tables, of which there are a ton. Game tables and plenty of TVs for watching sports add to the fun vibe. The only downside is the constant heavy smoking that can occur during busy times but hopefully that won't be a problem anymore later this year.
The Rock Bottom chain is pretty maligned for the beer quality at some of their locations but not here. Ever since head brewer Brian McConnel came on the job a couple of years ago, the beer quality has skyrocketed with everything from their staple beers to a ton of tasty seasonals (including some really well done IPAs) showing a vast improvement in quality. Selection is great as well with 4 staples on at all times and usually anywhere from 2-3 seasonals on as well. They also always have a cask selection on the hand pump, most often being one of the seasonals when available but also the Prussia's Pride IPA as a reliable fallback. And of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the Mug Club here. If you join, you get to drink out of a 20 oz mug (and a lot of times, they'll let the people with you drink out of them as well, even if they aren't members), earn points towards free swag, get offers and discounts via e-mail, and most of all, IT'S FREE! You can't beat that!
The food here is good but on the pricier side. Most sandwich/burgers platters run in the lower teens while most entrees can creep up towards $20 or more. To be fair, you do usually get a lot of food for the price and well, in case you haven't noticed, YOUR AT THE KING OF PRUSSIA MALL! Seriously though the food menu has a lot of selections and there are some lower priced options if you don't want to break the bank. I've heard complaints about the service here but we've never had a bad visit. Even when it's been fairly busy, we've had courteous and prompt service. All in all, if you haven't been here in a couple of years because you've been you had a bad experience or were warned about "crappy corporate brewpub beer" than I definitely recommend you check this place out again, as I think that it's definitely improved and worth visiting again.

What can I say? Rock Bottom is a decent chain and the beer and food are always decent. I may not always be blown away by what they have on hand, but they carry a consistent level of quality no matter what location you're at. This location was no exception. The wife and I stopped here on a recent trip. It was very close to our hotel. We had drinks there one night after visiting Victory and dinner after doing touristy stuff in Philadelphia. The staff is friendly and prompt and the place has a comfortable feeling. The beer was fairly average, but done well. One variety (American Dream) was available on cask.
This probably isn't a 'beer destination' but it's conveniently located next to numerous hotels in a decent area.

Visit this place often, but after being to several other Rock Bottom's, I decided it was time to review this one.
Located in the King of Prussia Mall complex, parking is free, but could be somewhat complicated depending on the time of day and year, luckily they have a separate entrance from outside. Having previously been a Brew Moon, the change over to a Rock Bottom was fairly easy, but they kept most of the arrangement the same. Entering from the Mall you are in the dining area, and must walk midway through the place to get to the hostess stand (which is right inside the outside entrance). The dining area has lots of tables and keeps the microbrew vibe fairly quiet, with only the tanks and kettles visible through 1 wall. The bar area, on the other hand, is one of the better ones I've seen at a RB, with lots of room at the bar for over 20, as well as plenty of tables and booths. Televisions are everywhere, displaying various sports. Directly in the center of the bar is the current taps list with ABVs and descriptions of the brews.
Besides the usual beers that Rock Bottoms brew like a lager, light lager, pale ale, and amber ale, they've also got a terrific IPA on at all times as well as usually 3 or 4 seasonals and 1 cask. It seems every month they release 1 regularly scheduled seasonal and 1 special seasonal that the brewer picks. Sometimes it's a dark lager, sometimes an Imperial Stout or a barleywine, but it's always something worth a try, as the brewer does a fantastic job.
The food is typical for a Rock Bottom, with burgers, sandwiches, steaks, fish, pasta, salads, and appetizers, but everything is tasty and flavorful. Service is pretty good, the wait staff is usually very attentive, as is the bar staff, and the only time I've ever waited a bit was when I was at a table in the bar area and it was loud and crowded.
Being in an area saturated with amazing brewpubs, it's easy to overlook Rock Bottom, but I think the place is great. Definitely worth a visit every month or so. Heck, it's in a mall, bring your wife, make her drive, and let her shop while you enjoy the brews.

Rock Bottom- King of Prussia, PA
Finally reviewing this place after visiting several times.
Drove out on a Sunday afternoon, almost 100 degrees outside. Took about 45-50 minutes to get here, parked in the garage between Nordstoms and Sears. Sat at a booth and was helped immediately. Waitress was friendly and fast. I drank, on this visit, a Czech Mate Pilsner and American Dream IPA. I ate the Brown Ale Chicken which was 1 of the best meals I've ever had at a brewpub! My wife had the Chicken Ceasar salad, also had the Titan Toothpicks (taquito's) Food was delicious, the beers were very good, and I finally jined the Mug Club.
Another great drinking/ dining experiance at Rock Bottom. Total bill was arond $50 so it was definitely reasonable.
Awesome beers and food! A must stop for anyone within an hour range!
Stopped in here a few times during the holiday shopping season. Chicken fried chicken is a must!! Food here is delicious and their beer is top notch the best of the 3 Rock Bottom's I've been to(San Diego, MN, KOP) and (bold statement here) probably the best of the whole chain!

My fiancee forced me along on a shopping trip to King of Prussia with the promise of Rock Bottom, ensuring me that the food was tasty and of course, there'd be good beer to be had. I previously had a growler of their Prussia's Pride IPA, which was excellent, so I figured it might be a fine trip.
We showed up around 11:30 in the morning, and were the second or third table of the day to be seated. I started off with a pint of their cask IPA, which was above average, even if a bit over "sparklerized". She ordered the Brewer's Club and I was enticed by the "Bourbonzola" Burger, nothing like whiskey infused barbecue sauce and blue cheese.
The food showed up about 10 minutes later, and I followed the IPA with a glass of their Czech Mate Pilsner. Great beer, noble hopped to the max, and good with the very satisfying burger.
By the way, skip fries with your sandwich and go right for the malt vinegar chips, housemade and delicious.
The atmosphere was a bit pre-fabricated, but all together, this is a place that will help disspell the myth that all chains suck.

I have been to this location several times. The food is OK and the beer seems to be conservative. I have tried a few beers and they all seem to be highly drinkable, not very complex, kind of made for the masses. This is certainly not my brew pub of choice...it is in a mall...but as noted, it does have an entrance in which you don't have to go through the mall. The service is spotty at times and the atmosphere is decent. Nothing special, but an average place. I would not recommend the place, but I would not discourage anyone from going.

I was there last Saturday, The ribs were very good and my wife had the lemon chicken she said was good. My favorite was the sub zero IPA. My only complaint about the beers are that they are seved a bit too cold. Espiciall the cask condtion ales. I had the double bock cask which was way on the cold side. When I get a cask condition beer, it is usually served at 55 degress, not 35. The place could also do with out the smoke. Which was embetted on my clothes when I came home. Over all a good place to drink, they just need to serve their beers at the right temp.

An oasis in a sea of shopping madness.
If you ever find yourself at the King of Prussia Mall and want to escape/hide from your SO and their shopping habit this is the place for you. If you enjoy shopping and just need a place to rest or get a bite to eat this can be your place as well.
The nice thing about this place is that you don't have to actually walk through the mall to enter it. There is a side door and you can avoid the mall entirely. For those of you actually shopping you can also enter from the interior of the mall. There is a decent sized seating area for dining that is seperate from the bar area. The bar area has a huge bar top and also has booth and table seating. So there is a place for everyone. Above the bar you will find the list of beers currently on draft.
Like any other Rock Bottom all the beers here are very decent. You won't have a problem finding something that agrees with your taste buds. Don't forget to join the free mug club and get your beer upgraded for free.
The food here is your typical pub food with a few exceptions.
Just remember to avoid going here on a beer pong night. Yes beer pong in a brewpub.

Was happy to find that the Rock Bottom was across the road from the hotel I was staying at while up this way for work. They had around 8 of their beers on tap. Tried 3 of them, the Munich Gold, Their Steam Beer and their IPA which was served off the cask. All were solid, especially the ipa, great hop flavour and was real smooth. The dish I ordered was pretty tasty, they had a pretty extensive menu. Was pretty impressed with my meal and beers, especially after finding out that 2 of my beers were served during their happy hour, $2 a pint! Other beers they had included a milk stout, amber ale and a scotch ale. I think I'll head there again tomorrow night.
