375ml green bottle with no freshness date. Sweetened with natural juice.
LOOK: Flat, golden peach.
SMELL: Cloying sweet, simple syrup, peach juice, oak.
TASTE: Intensely sweet, flat, peach hard candy, musty, dried grass, yeast, faint cork.
Damn ... sooo sweet. Did someone dump a kiddy juice box into my glass? Pretty far from what a beer is let alone a lambic ... a stretch for sure.

12.7 ounce bottle. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a clear gold color with about an inch white head that didn't stay around for very long. There's a small amount of lacing. Aroma is peach syrup, bready malt, and a bit of earthy aromas, too. It tastes mostly like canned peaches syrup, sugar, and a bit of grainy malt. It's very sweet tasting. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit slick and syrupy with low carbonation. This is a one and done for me, I wouldn't buy it again. It was getting hard to finish this brew after a while! Worth a try if you've never had it before, but this is certainly one of the sweeter lambics I've had recently, too sweet for me. $5.99 a bottle.

Chapeau Peche
Brouwerij De Troch
Appearance: Clear golden in color, lots of active carbonation showing. Small white fizzy bubbly head forms.
Smell: Very peachy, sweet, some grains, unripe apple. Cidery.
Taste: In the taste, peach preserves upfront, followed by a mild vinegary acidity. Mostly sweet peach juice, with a little tart. A very faint note of musty oak.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied, low-medium carbonation, in the finish, sweet peach and muted funk.
Overall: This peach lambic is somewhat tasty, though not as lambic like as some other great examples of the style. An excellent drink to enjoy with an early brunch, not really a complex sipper.

The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very strong on the peaches. There may be a little bit of funk hidden in the background, but it is stomped on by the sweet peaches. The flavor is more of the same. The beer tastes like the syrup that you get with canned peaches. It is way too sweet and hard to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This was the worst of the three Chapeau beers we had recently, with the other two being the Kriek and the Banana.

Thanks to Bobby for sharing this.
A: The pour is a dark golden-orange color with a few haphazard bubbles popping up.
S: The nose is uninspiring if nothing else. Not really much, if any, peach aroma, but plenty of cork and an earthy, mushroom mustiness.
T: Like on the nose, there is a lot of just moldy, musty, earthy character to this beer that is not at all pleasing or enjoyable. Rotting peaches and sugary sweet with hardly any acidity or any bright spots at all.
M: The body is light to medium with a limp sort of carbonation that does not do this beer any favors.
D: This was pretty bad, even by Chapeau standards. No thanks.

Appearance: Pours out a an orange-gold body with a smattering of scattered, distraught bubbles.
Smell: Smells of the corpse of somebody who died from drinking far too much peach schnapps. Not a bad way to go, really.
Taste: Jarringly sweet from the get-go and with a jolt of peach flavoring. Plenty of moldy, musty, rotted wood. Far, far too much sugar dumped into a poor lambic. Unclemattie asked if I was crying afterwards. I definitely choked up when he asked that.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Trust me, there are plenty of other far better lambics out there today. This, however, is an undrinkable mess. Why do I continue to engage in this ridiculousness?

37.5 cl bottle, capped and corked, pours a dark apple juice color with a bit of haze, faint rim of bubbles that quickly disperses. Reminds me of apple cider.
This really isn't so much a beer as a nice, sweet fruity drink. All peach (they say 20% peaches on the label), with the slightest of lambic notes in the back. Some esters in the smell.
At 3.5% this is barely more than a juice, which is what one is reminded of. Just a bit of tang to make you think something like peach cider. It's not that it's not drinkable but, certainly nothing to seek out or enjoy as more than a passing oddity.

Golden hazy orange with no head to speak of. Aroma brings fruity, and a bit of funk.
Tastes like a mixed drink, but not necessarily like a beer. Not that I expected 'beer', but it doesn't have more than just a touch of tang to it.
My lady liked it...and since I bought it for her I got the rating as a bonus.

Drank out of a 7-11 coffee cup in downtown Vancouver in the summer sun.
Ok, this is no competition to Boon or any other serious Lambic producer. What this is is a sweetish very fruity beer that happens to have a lambic back note. The beer is quite drinkable with a slightly funky lambic kick to the finish. The main body is mainly peach but I enjoyed the fruity ride to the finish. A fun beer not to be taken too seriously

Appearance: Peach-colored
Smell: Smelled like peaches(!)
Taste: Just too syrupy...lambic was overpowered by the taste of Del Monte canned peaches in heavy syrup. Lambic tastes come forward if you let it relax in your mouth for awhile. Quite metallic.
Mouthfeel: Thick and syrupy; little carbonation.
Drinkability: Would have been even easier to drink had it not been so sweet.

Served from a very thick green corked bottle. No head, even on the initial pour. Interestingly, there is a slight ring of tight bubbles on the rim that leaves the slightest of lace. Orange color and cloudy.
Sweet plum-like aromas. Reminds me of Japanese Plum wine.
Tastes like Japanese Plum wine! Very sweet, with none of the typical sourness from most peches. Very rich body and light carbonation.
In many ways, this is an extreme beer--I cannot remember a sweeter offering. Probably closer to a soft drink than a beer.

Sampled on a beautiful June afternoon at Michelle's Beachouse, in the Toronto Beaches. While my expectations were low, this selection was in part inspired by the advice of a close friend: "when life gives you lemons... #$%* it - eat peaches". Touching words.
Pours completely flat with a sullied appearance, which resembled a marmalade or pear jam. The aroma was less than favourable, boasting a 'funk' that, while not unusual for lambics, simply didn't carry any charm or intrigue that others do. Hardly any fruity notes either. Mouthfeel carries a cloying sweetness as the body (although refreshing) borders being syrupy due to a low carbonation. The taste is a 'guess that fruit' game, with hints of pear, apricot, mango, orange, and perhaps least of all - some peach. It certainly was not an artificial flavour (I may of been expecting something of a "fuzzy peach" candy, like I've tasted with other beers). Especially with the low level of both alcohol and carbonation, this was received more as a juice.
There are far better fruit lambics out there, even from the De Troch family...

Appearance: Hazy light golden color, with a moderate white head, and scattered, beaded lacing.
Aroma: Slight barnyard and sour hay aroma, quite understated, the peaches manifest themselves more as peach rind, rather than the flesh.
Taste: Very sweet, juicy peach note, with slight hints of peach skin, late in the taste, a sour hay and barnyard note appears, as well as a slight medicinal note, which lingers on well past the end of the taste.
Mouth feel: Smooth and full, soft on the palate, pleasant.
Drinkability/notes: A pleasant, understated example of a lambic with fruit.
Sampled as a part of the "Night of Chapeau", with my friend and fellow BA HardTarget.

Aroma: Mild Belgian yeast note with some citric flowers
Appearance: Murky orange amber glass holds a collar that leaves some mild lacing
Flavor: Light honey, mild orange rind, hint of peach nectar, almost a lager flavor overall. Tasted very mainstream which struck me as odd.
Mouthfeel: Low carbonation, medium light body
Overall Impression: Easy drinking beer. Comes across as a lightly fruited lager, not very lambic at all! Guess thats a pro and a con.
Sampled as part of the Night of Chapeau, many thanks to Pegasus for assembling the 8 flavors.
