Appearance: Murky and hazy ruby/rose with a minimal white head. No lacing down the glass.

Aroma: Glace cherries, strawberries, and a slight sweet flowery note. Not a huge amount else going on.

Taste: The cherry is really at the forefront of this, but in a glace / candied way, rather than fresh tasting. A little "cherry medicinal" on the aftertaste, but also some hints of strawberry and raspberry. A nice sour tartness to it, however it tastes a little too sweet. There is a little bit of the Lambic style rustic character, but only in the background.

Mouthfeel: Thin, light, spritzy, and refreshing. A good amount of carbonation, and quite clean.

Overall: Quite nice if you are ready for a tart, sweet, fruity Lambic. That being said, it was slightly too sweet (and I like sweet drinks!), and could do with a little more sourness & funk. It will never win awards, but not too bad for a 'cheapy'. The bottle that I tried was very close to its Best-Before, and judging from the other reviews, I think that it may have helped. It also didn't come with a cork (normal bottle cap only), and had almost no wood aging flavours.

A: The beer is hazy dark rosé in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that quickly died down leaving delicate lacing on the surface and a thick ring of large bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are moderately strong aromas of cherries in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, flavors of cherries dominate the taste; these are somewhat tart and no sweetness is detectable.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a very light amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is very easy to drink and has a good balance between fruity flavors and tartness. It’s a good representation of the style.

Bottle poured into a challice. This one pours a dark ruby with two fingers of light pink head that settles down almost immediatly to nothing.

Smells bad. Sweet cherry cough drops is really what it comes down to. I'm afraid to taste is now. Really sweet flavor. Cherry cough drops again with a lot of sweetness. Maybe some honey in there. Tastes like someone made Kool-Aid and dumped a whole bag of sugar in it and got some bubbles.

Light feel with lots of carbonation. I hate that I have nothing good to say about this. Maybe I don't get this one but I figured it would be like some of the other fruit lambics Ive had. Unfortunatley this is a sugary mess. I snagged this on a whim because it was cheap and the BA average wasn't bad. However this was a drainpour for me.

Pours a nice bright red, with a relatively light carbonation. Aromas of a cranapple juice blend. Taste has more sweetness than an old lambic and makes this lambic more reflective of the commercial styles. There is a slight tartness on the finish. Not my favorite kriek but certainly worth trying, and can be refreshing given the right mood.

(Served in a flute)

A- This beer pours a deep slightly dense clear cranberry body with a fizzy white head that has a slight pale pink hue to it. There is a sea of microbubbles that glide to the surface.

S- The aroma has an earthy cherry nose with some fresh cut cherry wood branches to follow that impart a green quality and a cherry blossom floral finish that grows as the beer warms.

T- The taste is a bit different than the aroma with a strong cherry throat lozenge favor taking me back to when I was a kid, that coats the mouth. There is a medicinal finish that is a bit acidic and the cherry flavored cough syrup lingers.

M- This beer has a thick mouthfeel with no alcohol heat but a very light pucker to the medicinal mouthfeel.

D- The pleasant aroma is quickly shot down with the cherry medicine in the taste and mouthfeel. It wasn't a drain pour but one is all I will need to drink. I will just resolve to sniff this beer from now on.

Very red pour, lighter red head. Doesn't really last too long or lace.

Aroma is yeasty cherry.

Taste is fruitcake, cherry. Not really sure what else there is supposed to be to these simple beers.

Goes down fine, obviously no alcohol. I can't imagine why anyone would want more than one of these though.

Nose are reminiscent of cherries compote Materne even fruit yoghurts. The texture also makes them think. Big fruity presence with cherries close-up, certainly not too cloying like many other models because not a lot of sugar but too fruity for a lambic. A few very slight acidity in the finish with this always grainy texture of fibers that is reminiscent of stewed fruit. Even better than the Belle-Vue or sudden deaths found in the trade.

The beer pours a nice red color with a white head. This is a pretty nice looking beer. The aroma is very sweet cherries with a little bit of funk in there. So far so good. The flavor is very sweet. I get a ton of cherry syrup notes with just a tad bit of funk. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. As a fruit beer, this is not too bad - but also not near as good as the Lindemans Kriek. As a lambic, it falls way short.

Thanks to Bobby for sharing this one.

A: The pour is a cloudy reddish color with a small pinkish head.

S: Sweet cherry candy on the nose along with the certain musty character that all these beers seem to have. Only a hint of acid, which is par for the course.

T: A very appropriate descriptor for this beer is Luden's Cough Drops (those sugary "cough drops" that are really just glorified candy). Heavily sweetened dark cherry flavor. While it's quite sweet, I actually enjoy it.

M: The body is medium with a moderate level of carbonation.

D: I hate to say it, but this was actually pretty good. I would not mind having this one again.

Bottle:
Ruby-brown in the glass, smallish pink cap some lace.

Aroma is a decent bouquet of cherry and mustines with grainy malts but a tad too much sweetness...like cherry jello made with beer.

Some tartness in the taste, some lambic mustiness but mostly cloying cherry sweetness, Chapeau is not my idea of a drinkable fruit lambic...too shallow and sweet.

Shared by schen9303. Poured from a 12oz. corked bottle into a Blue Point snifter.

A: Gentle pour yields a 1 finger coarse white head with no retention. Beer itself is a cloudy bright red. Lacing is stringy and spotty with decent cling.

S: Nose is strong cherry and rotting wood. Tickles the nose and is quite aggressive and abrasive.

T: This is a sweet lambic and boy is it sweeet! Cherry syrup throughout and nothing else. Very simple and even though I appreciate simplicity, this is one has a strange cork flavor that is present throughout that bothers me.

M: Light to medium bodied with little carbonation though its not particularly smooth. Slightly watery in the mouth and partially dry with a finish that sticky and slightly spicy.

D: I've appreciated sweet lambics in the past but this one is really not for me. Flavor is weird and the feel doesn't help here. I can't get over the rotten cork flavor in the nose and taste. Pass on this one.

Purchased 11-'09. Consumed 2-'10 from a pint glass.

A - Absolutely zero head. Not that uncommon for a lambic but still psychologically it has an effect. Color was interesting. A cloudy strawberry puree / jam color. The cloudiness implies to me they let some of the pectin from the cherries get into the beer. Maybe it was cooked a bit hot. Only the faintest of lacing.

S - Sour, dark cherry smell. Smells a lot like juice. Yeast and malt are hard to pick out. It's sweet and very simple.

T - Some of that sour cherry smell comes back, but this is basically juice. Touches of acidity.

M - Syrupy. Juicy, like a strawberry-orange juice cocktail.

D - Fine for a lambic. The low alcohol and high sugar content mean you could drink this until you have diabetes.

A: Pours a dark reddish purple, with a finger of pink head that diminishes quickly, leaving a ring around the edge of the glass. Very little lacing.

S: Smells like hard fruit candy - Jolly Ranchers-like.

T: Much like the smell. Candy like, very sweet with fruit flavors very similar to slightly sour hard candies.

M: Quite carbonated, medium to light bodied.

D: I didn't really enjoy this, but it might be drinkable if you like the candy flavor. I only made it through half the 25cl bottle.
