A - The beer poured a darker shade of amber with some clarity...a white head formed and showed some decent retention...good lacing
S - Light notes of sweet caramel malts and toasted bread...an earthy hop presence
T - There is a nice sweetness upfront from the caramel roasted malts...you get both the sweet and roastedness from the malts...there's a grain presence in the middle of the beer that rounds out the sweetness...the ending of the beer provides a surprising hop bit that is a little floral and earthy
M - Medium bodied...thin and a little metallic twang when it warms up...lingering hop profile was nice
D - The growler was pretty easy to drink...the flavors really worked together and the hop presence was a nice touch...the feeling was left to be desirable

Poured a nice amber color with some good head and lacing. Nice malty scent, a near-deep malty aroma. Nice flavor, a good amber ale maltiness, but it didn't have the tang of a really good Irish red. Goes down nice. This would've been a pretty decent amber ale, but it just doesn't quite cut it as an Irish red.

Pours a dark amber color with a 3/4 inch off-white head. Some sticky lacing along the top.
Scent was mostly of toasty hopps.
The taste consisted of toasty hops, sweet caramel malts, a bit nutty and kind of watery.
This had a pretty thin and watery feel to it, very little carbonation.
This was relatively easy to drink. It seemed quite a bit too watery which took away from the taste a little.

Purchased a growler of this, poured into a large mug.
Deep amber and garnet color. Head is creamy white, leaves some lacing.
Not much aroma, but it is a little sweet smelling. Mild hop undertone.
It is smooth to drink with a little carbonation to balance it.
Taste is sweet and malty. I could pick up some hop bitterness. Toffee flavors, possibly some citrus.
Overall, not bad. I liked it better than others of this style I have had.

On tap at the Harrisburg location on 2/28/09. Served in an oversized mug.
Pours a clear amber with nearly a finger of creamy brite-white head. This actually retains pretty darn well, bunching up around the edges with some thin wisps in the center, leaving a nice looking cascade of spotty lacing back. The aroma isn't very assertive to say the least. Very light notes of bread, caramel, and spicy floral hops. Like I said, it's there but doesn't pop in any way.
The taste luckily has a bit more presence to it. Caramel sweetness balanced by toasted grains and some moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied. The carbonation possesses a bit of a prickle to it but the overall feel is a little too soft in the mouth.
Not bad. The taste definitely brought more to the table than the aroma did. Maybe a bit more of a hop profile might have jazzed this up some more. You could definitely toast St. Patties day with worse though!

Pint glass, on tap.
Poured a medium and clear amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, light nuttiness, and lighlty earthy. Tastes of caramel with some light citrus. Light lacing left on the glass.
Notes from 04/07/08.

A: Poured a deep reddish-copper color, with a thin creamy white head.
S: sweet, but dry caramel, and floral hop bittering.
T: The initial flavor was sweet and dry toasted caramel accompanied by a light hop spiciness. Overall the palate was dry while the hopping was light-medium in nature allowing the maltiness to come through nicely. The beer finishes with a rich caramel and spiciness from the hops.
M: creamy and sweet with a medium fullness, and slighty chewy maltiness.
D: Good everyday pub ale and one that is moderately good in numbers.
