Notes:
A medium-bodied bock beer, this brew uses biscuit and crystal malts as well as noble European hops. The resulting deep amber beer is dry and flavorful, perfect for a cold Lake Placid winter.

A: Pours a purpleish amber color with a light white head that fades quickly and leaves some lacing.
S: Smells slightly of barely and yeast maybe. No overly hoppy or fruity notes.
T: Surprisingly nice flavor balance. Starts with malty hoppy notes then fades into a sweeter darker flavor. Maybe some background notes of fruit or some sweet spices.
M: Pretty good amount of chew to it. I wasn't disappointed.
Overall: Overall the beer was pretty good. It had a nice complex flavor that balanced well. The beer could have used some more distinct aromas but overall it was enjoyable. I'd recommend this beer to most beer drinkers.
Sidenote: I'm surprised this beer only has 12 reviews all from pretty far north. Glad I was able to get one of these in a case from PA.

Cloudy brown color; thick, smooth head that leaves plentiful ring lace with a solid blanket of minute bubbles in between.
Nearly no smell from a full bar pour. I detect a light melted brown sugar aroma.
Mildly sweet, too little for the style. The body is also a touch thin. Plenty of maltiness (reminds me of hazelnuts). Quite smooth. Overall, this beer falls just between bock, porter and a brown ale.

A: The beer is clear but very dark amber in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger high light beige head that died down rather quickly, but consistently left a thin head covering the surface.
S: There are light aromas of toasted malts in the nose along with hints of caramel and floral hops.
T: The taste has flavors of toasted malts along with notes of biscuits and hints of caramel, malty sweetness and spices.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat smooth on the palate with a moderate to high amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite drinkable for the style and isn’t too heavy, especially when compared to other bocks.

a - poured a one finger creamy tan head into an english pub glass that left decent sheeting throughout. the body was a bright reddish-brown color.
s - floral hops with bready and caramel behind it.
t - sweet from the caramel, bready biscuit malts with something like a belgian twist going on here. hops are crisp and spicy.
m - slick, slightly thin.
o - good beer, pretty complex for a bock.

A - A nice clear deep brown with amber tint and a half inch of opaque colored head that has moderate lace.
S - Smell is a nice bit of hops, caramel, and biscuit malts. Crystal malts also deliver a touch of grainy smell.
T - Taste is a bit muddled but it does have a nice bock lager taste. Slight hops and malts with really no level of sweetness. Straight up tastes "English" That's what it is dry and molasses eh...
M - Medium bodied and fairly hoppy.
Overall it pretty much delivers a nice hoppy profile and English malt flavors but in my opinion it could use some spice to even out the flavors.

Enjoyed in a mug
A: pours a very nice clear amber color with a large number of carbonation bubbles, pours with two fingers of light tan head that is very fluffy in character and lingers nicely, leaves a nice amount of spotty lacing
S: nice character in the scent, possibly like a darker kind of orange, and a nice spice note, kind of warming
T: nice taste, pretty consistent throughout, id call it nutmeg with a slight fruit note, lingers on the palate long afterward
M: gentle carbonation, smooth and crisp, leaves the mouth slightly dry but with a bit of a cooling feeling
O: a real nice representation of the style, not a big lager fan but this one is tastey and really stands out in my mind, love lake placid

This beer pours a clear, dark copper with thin head and lace that lasts. The aroma is of roasted malt with hints of nuts, and spices. The flavor is complex with ginger, root beer barrel, and toast with molasses in the finish. A soothing warmth shows through as it warms. It's mouthfeel is light-medium. Lake Placid Winter Lager is a good beer, perfect on a chilly fall evening, and very drinkable. Recommended!

Out of a bottle this beer was clear, copper color with ruby highlights. The head was two fingers of beige foam that left lacing in scattered spots and the retention was as a thin collar. The aroma was only so-so I thought, semi-sweet notes of nuts, sweet breads and dry malt. The flavors were better with the same sweet breads and nuts as well as toasted malt, yeast, light figs and a dry, bitter finish. The mouthfeel was average, the body medium and the carbonation appropriate.
