22oz bottle from the 2012 release, into a tulip. Thanks Canadianghetto!

A: Pours a slightly murky brownish red with a small light tan head.

S: Strong raspberry and mild lactic acid in the nose. Raspberry is bright and jammy, but with a slight vegetal edge. Sweet lactic notes and light bready notes underneath.

T: Tart raspberry, drying oak tannins, clean wheat malt, moderate lactic acidity.

M: Between light and medium-bodied with very little carbonation.

O: There are two flaws that jump out here. There seems to be a lack of complexity in the bugs department (I can only taste lactic acid) and the beer is a bit undercarbonated. It definitely tastes good, but could use some fixing up.

Big thanks to Jeff for this one. 22oz. bottle into a Cantillon tulip. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a very thin .25 finger coarse white head that collapses quickly. No lace and near no legs. What saves the appearance is the stunning clear, dark red color. Just above average.

Nose is tart raspberry and strawberry. Seedy sweet and tartness. Mellow Brett funkiness in the back with a nice, jammy fruit presence upfront. Nicely aromatic. Very straightforward and appetizing.

Opens raspberry sweet and tartness. Raspberry seed in the middle with Brett funk, hay, and some woodiness in the middle. Fruit presence is huge... like I'm eating Raspberry puree. Sour fades out a bit in the end, showcasing a nice, sweet juiciness from the fruit. Seedy, slightly bitter aftertaste. Very good. Definitely one of the better fruited Wild's I've had.

Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively in the mouth and goes down aggressive, bubbly and bright. Finish is puckering with a lingering, lip-smacking aftertaste. Real nice.

Just like the non-fruited version, Raspberry Ananke is incredible. Great, lively feel with an aggressive, aromatic and enticing nose. Flavor is spot on too. Seek this out!

Thanks to Dan for sharing this one with us! Quick review from written notes.

Reddish amber color in the glass with minimal foam and lacing. Less hazy than Ananke, but it could have just been the pour (beginning of the bottle, versus the end).

Tart raspberry aroma with an earthy edge, whole fruit, seeds/leaves/stems and all.

Taste is crisp and clean, bold fruity raspberry flavor with a nice minerality there also that gives it some depth beyond the fruit. Moderately tart and slightly puckering. A super drinkable fruited Wild Ale. Thanks again Dan for sharing! Recommended.

Appearance: murky light blood red, soft pink, yellowish head, minimal with large soapy bubbles.

Aroma: raspberry, Fuji apple skins, musk, vinius, oak tannins, tart grape.

Taste: astute sourness, light raspberry, fruity, musk, funk, apple skins, mild red wine.

***Light, refreshing, puckering, but balanced. A great sour. Thanks Joshua!

Big thanks to cfh64 for the bottle. 22 oz. bottle served in a Half Acre snifter. 2012 release.

A: Pours clear ruby color with no discernable head. Light frothiness around the edges, but nothing special.

S: A lot more funk than acticipated. A little cheesy with some raspberry freshness. There is a mild tartness on the backend with a little wine grape aspect to it.

T: Tart raspberry upfront with an almost sweet tart candy like middle. Oaky and red wine-esque in the finish. Mild funk in the periphery, but taste was all about the fruit.

M: Light bodied with a prickly carbonation level to break tarness. Pretty drinkable.

O: The duality of the nose was something. Very funky in the nose, not as much in the taste and vice versa for the raspberry. I enjoyed this beer, but would have liked a little more balance between the nose and taste.
