This place has the largest selection of beers in the area by far but their service is horrible (high school kids that have no idea what they are talking about) and the prices are crazy. I have seen some stuff on their shelves for double the normal price. That being said you could find rareish stuff here because it just sits on the shelves at their extremely high prices for months until someone convinces themselves that it is worth it. There are better places to visit in the area.

I'm going to be 100% honest-

They have a slightly larger selection than most places in the area (except for maybe Sabatini's in Exeter) but their business practices are pretty awful and their prices are consistently higher than the average for most beers.

The store is usually staffed by high school aged kids who are completely unfamiliar with craft beer. Their customer service is so terrible that after calling to ask if they had a beer (which they said they had and then promptly hung up on me) I proceeded to drive 40 minutes to their store only to find out that they "didn't get a lot of it" and are rationing it out to customers. I could only buy 2 bottles despite having driven down there solely for that beer.

You would think that they would tell you stuff like that on the phone, right?

Anyway I proceed to the checkout a little disappointed and then I find out that they are charging me $5 a bottle when a six pack would normally be $13- so they expect me to pay $10 for two bottles.

Now this wasn't a particularly rare beer (Nugget Nectar- which is a locally brewed and highly anticipated seasonal of Pennsylvania)- in fact within the past 3 weeks I had gotten it numerous times at 2 other area stores but the one closest to me (Wegmans) was out.

Instead I called Jessup Beverage and the owner (Chuck) put 2 six packs in the fridge for me while I drove there. He also charged me the usual price of $13 per six pack.

This store consistently misses out on a lot of the big releases, they consistently have higher prices than other local shops, and their customer service is awful. I would avoid going here unless this is your only option.

Great selection but a bit pricey. If you're looking for the more popular micros, check out Wegmans for better prices.

Otherwise they seem to have the best beer selection I've seen in NEPA so far. During my most recent visit they had a nice small batch of sours and I was even able to score some Cantillon which I can't even find back home (Northern VA). Not sure if it's because the places back home just don't care or sell out what they get so quickly.

It seems most people working there aren't extremely knowledgeable in beer but during my most recent visit rather late at night I'm guessing it was the manager or possibly owner was working. He was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations based on the beers I was grabbing.

I live about five minutes from Krugels, so the distance combined with my love of good beer made this place opening a godsend.

I've been buying beer from here since it's inception and over all is has been a good experience, mostly due to the selection.

They are pretty overpriced (about two dollars more per high quality 4/6 pack) than other establishments, but with the selection they have I can overlook that price difference for the convenience of having "harder to finds" right in my back yard.

Joe the owner is very professional a knowledgeable, and is always quick stop say hi when I stop by. The rest of the staff is quite young, not as knowledgeable, but very nice.

The good: They have an unbeatable selection for the area. You will not find a better selection of domestic/craft beer anywhere else in Northeast PA. They also have a handful of taps for growler fills or to enjoy a pint there.

The store is setup in a very nice arrangement as well. It's very clean. I've heard good things about their food, but never tried it. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there, I've just never been there for that purpose.

The bad: It's pricey. Some deals can be had, but you will likely pay a lot for anything good.

The service is nothing impressive. I've been asked if I needed anything when browsing, but I've never seen anyone older than early 20's when in the store. I also had one poor encounter with a younger girl..but it was just once, and that alone wouldn't keep me from shopping there.

Overall, It's worth a visit. Try the local Wegmans or other bottle shops in the area though first if you're planning on buying much, and you'll likely save some money. If you want something "difficult" to find, this is likely your only option though.

UPDATE:
Since writing my original review, I've had an opportunity to try the food - very good! I had a hot wing wrap, and fries. Food is priced right at what you'd expect. Fries were awesome. I also enjoyed 2 Draft's while I was waiting for my lunch and during lunch. (FBS and Sam Chocolate Bock). Food came out pretty quickly. I don't recall what my total was, but somewhere between $15 and $20. My friends also ate and enjoyed their sandwiches and beers.

I also had a chance to meet one of the owners. Ownership is definitely informed on beer. It's run by good people. As I mentioned earlier, it's definitely worth a visit. I drive ~45minutes for their selection.

Easy on/off I81 and a great section make this a great place to stop when passing through the area.

Bombers are arranged by brewery against the back wall whereas 6/4 packs are arranged in islands by general style. In the front of the store is a modest section where mixed 6 packs can be assembled. Unfortunately I didn't find anything of interest there and would have bought a lot more if I could have broken 6 packs in other parts of the store.

4 or 5 taps were available for growler fills or for drinking a pint with your lunch. I wasn't planning on eating, but the sandwiches looked so good and a great deli smell permeated the store, so I ended up with a very tasty fish sandwich and a pint of Weyerbacher Double Simcoe.

The help was young and did not seem to be too knowledgeable or experienced. My pint lost a few sips to a neighboring chair and the table on the way to my place - which were not cleaned up by the waitperson. But other than lacking experienced staff, this is a great place for lunch or to peruse a wild selection.

I drove two hours with the single reason being this establishment. I read that the selection was the best in PA, it couldn't have been more correct. I spoke with the owner for about an hour and had an absolute blast browsing his selection. The beers are organized by style, which helps when the amount of beers is 1200+. I was able to find many hard to find brews along with my seasonal favorites. If you are in the tri-state area, you must make the drive. Easily one of the best beer stores I have ever visited.

Discovered this place after doing a google search for Craft Beer in northeast PA. Read a review stating that carried over 1100 different bottles, figured I had to check it out. I've been back at least once a week since ( and this is 20 mile drive from my house).

They have an awesome selection of beers by all the reputable breweries and some gems that many don't know about. They have 6 rotating taps to have a pint while browsing or to fill your growler.

Service is good, I talked beer with the owner for a good 45 minutes, which could have went longer but he seemed busy. This place is definitely my new go to for craft beers. One of the few notable bottle shops in NEPA.

Had a fun day in Wilkes-Barre today. Visited Wegman's who was having a free food and beer pairing event. Exciting walking around a grocery store sampling beer and food and dodging shoppers with carts. Next we hit the Homebrew Expo day at the new Breakers Brewery building.

But an unexpected highlight of the day was our very first visit to Georgetown. Ran into some people who were at the Homebrew event there afterward and they recommended some selections. Had a Founders Breakfast stout from the tap $5. They also had Pumking on tap ($20 growler fill) and sam adams double pumpkin and one of the local Breakers beers on. They have only 7 taps but have high turnaround and they are probably always fresh that way. Tables, not fancy but functional to sit and have a beer surrounded by the best beer selection i've seen in Northeast PA (NEPA).

I definitely saw beers here that I can't get anywhere else unless I drive twice as far or more. They had good selection of Cigar City, Southern Tier, Voodoo Brewing, etc. I know a lot of people thought the prices were a lot higher than wegman's but hey, i only noticed a dollar or so difference in a bomber size bottle price. For the really price conscious go to wegman's first, get what you want. then come here. You'll want to buy more because they have more of the rarities.

I drove about 45 minutes to get here so what's a few extra bucks? If you are out of the area, wegman's, georgetown, and a stop at the Arena Sports Bar and Grille are a worthwhile day trip. With all three here I will try to make it up to here more frequently.

This is a store that I will drive in to a city that I hate and will not go in to for any other reason. They have the largest selection of craft beers that I know of so far. I am still new to the craft beer scene and have not found a better place to go and browse craft beer selections.

My first trip there I was on a mission to find The Bruery Cuir, I was excited that they had it and snatched up two bottles, and even went back to grab a bottle of the Coton for good measure. Prices seem pretty reasonable compared to other places.
