Had this after running the River Towns Marathon in Danville, PA. Pours a amber copper color with a nice amount of head from the 16 oz can. Smell is malty and has a hint of caramel. Little bit of hops as well.
Taste is somewhat bitter for a pale ale, but it's pretty good. Some citrus from the hops give way to the malt base.
Overall, not bad not great. Decent beer and worth the try if you come across.

A: Explosive macro-bubbly carbonation rages within a tangerine orange colored body that had a translucent nature to it. The head was small, bready textured, with a sandstone tint and a decent retention.
S: Bright fresh hops, tangerine oranges, sweetened grapefruit, and some fresh fruity notes of tropical juices.
T: Tart tangerine, the heavy handed carbonation really turns this into a fizzy mess in the mouth. Pine hops, a bit one dimensional when compared to the nose, very linear flavor, the malting is light bodied offering little support.
M: Seltzer like carbonation, fizzles and distracts in the mouthful turning to a frothy and washy mess on the hold. Light bodied, washy foam feels and tastes a little coarse, way overly carbonated.
O: Overall the overcarbonated aspect really kills this beer, not sure if this is a common thing or a bad batch run amok, judging from other reviewers it may have been just an anormality. The flavor is still one dimenionsal, the body is light making for an otherwise ordinary beer. Difuse the carbonation and its an average beer. It showed flashes of potential from the nose but fizzled out in the end.

My first from Old Forge.
First impression from the can is wow!
Brilliant clarity, pure amber and gently carb'd. The head sitting on top make for a nice color contrast with it'swhite fluffy dense body and lacing as it fades.
Taste is quite hoppy fresh and lively tasting with bready malts balancing out.
I could not really pull out any one hop flavor just a melding of various hops.
Drinks smooth but a bit flat and has good weight on the palette. The aftertaste is smooth and clean with no real bitterness.
This is a good beer. I try to compare it to other beers I like but they are all IPA's.
Folks I think we have a winning brewery here and I'm already a big fan.

16oz can poured into pint glass
Pours a lightly hazed copper-amber color with a frothy crop of beige head resting on top. Retains nicely, leaving rings of patchy lacing on the glass.
Some zesty hoppiness with orange peel followed by hints of pine. Grainy and bready with a touch of caramel. Light sweetness from the malts.
Slightly bitter and dry up front with a combo of citrus/pine hops. Grain and bread crust from the malts with a soft caramel sweetness. Finishes fairly dry with a smack of pine bitterness.
Medium body, decent carbonation, drinkable and refreshing on the senses. A solid, well-priced, balanced pale ale.

Thanks to woodychandler for this one. Poured into nonic. Poured a slightly hazy orange amber color with over an inch of off-white head that had OK retention and no lacing.
The aroma was a nicely balanced blend of malt and hops. Neither aspect dominated, and both complemented the other. The flavors were the same, good earthy and lightly sweet malts playing off gently tart hops.
The body was the expected medium and had a dry, crisp finish. Drinkability was very good, the beer was gone way too quickly. Overall, a very nice take on the style. This beer would be among my "everyday" drinkers if it were local to me. Worth trying if you see it.

Draft offering at old forge. The brew appears a clear copper with a white cap. As the froth fades, a light swirl revives bubbles back to the surface and produces some strings of lacing effect on the glass.
The aroma is fruity and floral with a caramel foundation at the base. It is mildly grainy and toasty but does not smell sweet. A pinch of citrus hop character emerges as the brew warms up.
The flavor of citrus and grassy hops are the first things noted. A bit herbal and pulpy with almost a hint of orange zest through the middle. A seemingly low-key amount of bitterness but plenty of hop flavor. The aftertaste gets somewhat vegetative as it warms up and some yeast elements become more noticeable.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is crisp, snappy and refreshing. I could drink this again. It isnt the best take on the style but it seemed like it was the freshest of the hoppy offerings I had from Old Forge.
