Poured from a 355ml bottle into a Founders Snifter.
A: Deep red, crystal clear color. Aggressive pour leads to a thick rocky white 2 finger head that slowly fades. Much thicker head than normal lambics. Lacing is thick and plentiful.
S: Big sweetness to it with the candied sugar shining through. It's a really strange take on a lambic as far as the smell goes.
T: Really kind of nice. Sweet candied sugar and funky barnyard hay flavors that come with the lambic. It's so good and so interesting. Part of what I like about lambics is the tartness and it's really masked by the candied sugar which is excellent.
M: Sticky yet fluffy-carbonated. Kind of big-bodied which is weird for a lambic type beer.
O: Really nice sessionable beer. Great really I thought this beer was really good.

From Platinum. BB 04/14.
Appearance - reddish brown - two finger head. Stays nicely.
Smell - Funk, apples, vinegar.
Taste - Slightly sweeter front palate to smell, but not too sweet. Nicely balanced, with sour note left on palate.
Mouthfeel - light, zesty, well carbonated.
Overall - nice drop. Balanced flavours - yes I know it is not a sour bomb, but it goes down well.

A: poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass, brown amber colored with a short white head that dissipates quickly leaving little lacing, clear
S: funky, musty, wild, grapes, brown sugar, sour
T: simultaneous sweet and sour flavors, quite tasty, has fruity apple flavor, reminds me more of cider than beer, different but good
M: thin but sticy with high carbonation
O: I've never had this style before. It's quite sweet, which I'm alright with.

Reddish Amber color with a thin white head with little to no lacing. Smell; Very sour, almost pungent. The taste is sweeter than the aroma which is surprising, like a sweet tart, pleasant actually. Mildly carbonated, dry and a little bitter. Overall: A very good refreshing lambic, definitely worth a try.

This amber-looking beer brings a slight (yes, slight) acidity in the aroma, together with apples, pears, barnyard ideas, cinnamon, and sugar/honey. The light body has a medium-high carbonation, and the aftertaste is short, malty (wheaty) and sweet - perhaps too sweet. Didn't impress me: doesn't have the complexity of the Gueuzes, or the expressiveness of the Flanders Sour Ales.

First faro I've tried with the promise that a faro makes someone who has yet to embrace the sourness of most lambics like the flavor profile of these spontaneously fermented beers. Definitely has the characteristic sour, slightly funky wild microbe flavor of lambics but indeed finishes with a sugary sweetness. Finishes a bit like a sweet white wine. Definitely an approachable, easy to drink sessionable brew that although not overly complex has enough character to keep you interested.

The beer pours a surprisingly dark amber with little head formation or retention. However, quite a bit of sediment drifts around the bottom and contributes to the slight haze present. The nose is relatively sweet with slight depth in the form of a subtle funky tartness. It drinks like a very very mild kriek with huge brown sugar sweetness upfront followed by a slightly fruity tartness. It's medium bodied, drinkable, and frankly a bit too sweet considering the lack of fruit/carbonation/acidity. I'm glad to try a beer with so much history and I'm a huge lambic fan, but this just doesn't do it for me. Lambics should be blended with...other lambics.
