750mL brought back from the restaurant. Split with my wife.
A: Opening bottle of this damn near killed me, so look out. Pours with a massive foamy head that settles into something more appropriate. Color is cloudy straw-orange.
N: Oak, light sourness, ginger, and lemon zest. Lots of wood in this. Measurable level of funk and plenty of leather. Some bleu cheese and sulphuric acid. Perhaps not as complex as the big boys, but the flavors are assertive.
T: More of the denseness from the oak, and it's plenty sour with a slight malt sweetness to round out the edges. Has some sharp acid which comes and goes and detracts from the experience when it's there. Appropriate level of doughiness.
M: Very dry and clean. Light bodied and well carbonated.
O: Tasty stuff, and a lot better than I expected it to be. (Maybe the year and a half has knocked out some of the kinks.) A worthy beer.

750ml bottle into a tulip.
A: Pours a slightly hazy burnt orange with a thick white head. Slightly darker than the average gueuze.
S: Moderately sweet pale malt and wheat, a bit of pleasant mineral character, cheesy funk and a subtle note of acidity.
T: The taste brings some mild barnyard-ish brett, lightly sweet grain, mineral, oak, earthy dry tartness mid-palate. Stone fruit notes come out as it warms.
M: Pervasive carbonation lends a very creamy feel to an otherwise light and dryish body.
O: Certainly a good gueuze, a bit like an amped-up Cuvee Rene. Some more time in the bottle might let the bugs cut down on the residual sugar a bit more.

Bottle at De Heeren. October 2012.
The beer is clear and light orange colored with a formidable, cloudy, white head. The aroma brings some cheesy funk, hay, authentic Belgian lambic scents. Nice flavor! Ahh...cheesy, barnyard funk with hints of citrus. Transporting aroma and taste. Really wonderful. Low carbonation and silky smooth on the palate. A terrific example of the style, I feel fortunate to have tried this. What a great place to enjoy food and beer.

I brought this back from Europe with me. Poured from the bottle into a tasting snifter.
Appearance: The beer pours a golden amber color with a layer of fluffy off white head that fades to a ring around the pour.
Smell: Tart and really funky. Rather herbal, but the funk quality definitely wins.
Taste: This one is light and very funky up front. I'm getting some herbal and lemon notes. The finish gets very bitter and even more funky than the rest of the sip.
Mouthfeel: The body is medium with nice, fluffy carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall: This is a pretty traditional gueuze. The finish is really funky. I thought this was a nice effort.

Thank you, Steve.
Light orange with a dense, white head that falls off to a ring rapidly. The nose is sulfury, funky, a little eggy, lemony, tart, bright and young. My notes say "gueuzey", what that means I have no clue. But it does smell rather simple.
The palate opens mildly sweet with melons, moderate funk, sulfur, lemon and grapefruit rind flavor and bitterness. Moderate lactic sourness is present too. Light in body, medium-high level of carbonation, this beer is drying and funky on the finish. Solid stuff, but I was surprised by how unimpressed I was by this.

Courtesy of Olin73. Thanks man! Part of our LA tasting, non LA bottles. Poured into a mini-snifter.
A - Hazy yellow straw with a nice receeding off white head.
S - Very solid amount of Belgian funk right up front with slight acidic lemon notes. Minerality on the back end.
T - Large amount of that barnyardy funk. Moderate acidity on the back end.
M - A bit on the light side for a gueuze. Drinkable and funky, but there needs to be a bit more body to put up with the funk.
O - Yes, I used funk a lot. This is a very solid beer. 20 Euros? Maybe not. But very glad to be able to try this.

Pour is a hazy light yellow with a slightly off white bubbly head. The nose has a ton of cheesy funk, light leathery brett with a nice sweet appricot to balance. Taste is solid, funk is dialed down a bit, less cheesy rind and more leathery, dusty notes. Sweetness is decent, not super bright but nice lemon, appricot and peach. Fairly sour, dry finish on a light body, assertive carbonation.

Bottle shared by Marcos a few weeks back -- thanks! Reviewed from notes.
Straw-colored pour yields white, thinly-bubbled head. Sticky, retentive lace adorns my glass.
Lots of oak and yeasty funk in the nose. Citrus shines through. Mild sugary sweetness, though this sweet characteristic is nothing like the other (awful) Lindemans "lambics" brewed with artificial sweeteners. Smells like a well-made gueuze should.
Tart and funky. Oaky and lemony. Complex, yet balanced. If you blindfolded me, handed me this glass of DHL20, and asked me who made this sour, I never would have guessed Lindemans. Goes to show they know how to make a good lambic if they decide to forego the adjuncts.
This was a pleasantly surprising gueuze I'd happily drink again. That's definitely the first time I've ever said that about a beer from Lindemans.

Sample at DLD 2012...thanks Thorpe?
A - Pours yellow in color, white fizzy head, thin collar.
S - Lemon citrus, funk, nice level of sour/tartness, oak. Pretty good and straight-forward...everything works together nicely.
T - Similar to the nose, lemon peel, citrus, funk, tart/sour notes, light acidity, oak. A very solid Gueuze, to say the least. I think this one went beyond my expectations. Finish is tartness and oak.
M - Light body, good carbonation, dry finish.
O - A very solid Gueuze, no doubt. I would have this one again for sure, but I don't think I would purchase from overseas and pay the high shipping costs associated with getting it over to me. That said, I'll gladly take another pour somewhere down the road.

From 04/14/12 notes. Thanks to whoever brought this to the DC Sour Tasting.
a - Pours a hazy yellow-golden color with three fingers of fluffy white head and mdoerate to high carbonation evident. Very carbonated and head lasts for a few minutes.
s - Smells of earthy notes, funk, cheese, oak, hay, floral notes, light space. Some nice funk but not too overpowering.
t - Tastes of earthy notes, cheese, barnyard funk, spice, oak, lightly sour fruits, light citrus. A little step up from the nose, quite nice.
m - Light body and high carbonation. Crisp, pretty easy to drink.
o - Overall I thought this was a ncie gueuze. Some nice funk in the nose and taste, and some sour fruits in the taste as well. A touch overcarbonated but still a great beer. Would like to try it again sometime.
