Lindemans Kriek pours a black cherries black from a dark green glass bottle with a pry off cap covering a pull out cork stopper. Head of Black Cherries foam went to over two fingers before settling to a broken carpet of foam with full ring and ample lacing of my glass.

Nose is of major damp Black Cherries. Palate is of the most delicious Black Cherries, first sweet, then turning tart. The carbonation is full and complete.

Black Cheery pie is what this is, delicious and intense Black Cheery pie with out the crust. Lambic Beer is on the label, Black Cheery pie is what is on the inside.

i had to break the top of the bottle with a hammer since the cork got stuck. Sucks to do that to a six dollar beer. Oh well, life goes on.

Appearance is nice read color with amazing head.

Smells of cherries, strongly!

Tastes of cherries and funkiness

Has amazing carbonation and mouthfeel.

I don't see how anyone couldn't give this a five in drinkability.

this is an exceptional lambic. of course it's a strong tart cherry taste but it is fine. this is an example of a good fruit beer, "fruit beer=bad" isnt always true. miller chill, thats bad, this is not. this has a real, clear and present chery taste, but it isnt juicy jucy juice or arbor mist.

Gorgeous, purple color. Somewhat pale in places but a nice, deep purple thoughout. Very nice head to begin with. Some nice lacing. Aroma screams black cherry. Some great peppery notes. Very full and inviting. Big fruit flavor upfront. Slight, malty backbone with a huge black cherry flavor. Peppery flavor from the sourness comes thru and is well balanced with the huge fruit presence. Very good mouthfeel-great body considering the ABV-Id expect it to be a much bigger beer. A killer beer-theres a great balance between the fruit and beer itself. Not overly sweet. This is what a wine cooler should be. Malt based beverage my ass...worth seeking out.

Pours a deep blood red that is opaque with a thicky foamy pick head that sticks around. Smells of cherries strongly with background hints of musk, leather, sweat? Tastes of intense sourness and sweetness simultaneously followed by something extremely strange, a slight hint of rotten fruit? Syrupy and highly carbonated at the same time. This extremely unique beer has a tartness that I love. It has just enough wildness as well, and these 2 elements are balanced by a sweet fruity cherry flavor.

Enjoyed in a snifter

A: pours a beautiful cherry red that is crystal clear, pours with two plus fingers of pink extremely fluffy head that lingers beautifully and leaves a ton of lacing around the glass
S: cherries, pure and simple cherries, really a wonderful nose on this one
T: cherries dominate in the forefront then it moves into a nice period of tartness in the middle and rounds out with pure sourness which linger beautifully on the palate
M: the cherry tart and sourness really awaken and soothe the palate at the same time, medium carbonation, lingering pukered up feeling from the sour and tart
O: This is the best lambic i have had to date, the taste absolutely blew me away and the scent was tantilizing, absolutely incredible, gonna need to grab some more bottles of this to test it out with some aging, loved it!

Amazing, so much fruit infused into the lambic. It's in the nose, the taste, the aftertaste..all with different levels and dimension throughout the tasting adventure. It forces you to drink more. Never buy less than the largest botle available. The only fault I could possibly find is that this is tremendously sweeter than more traditional lambics such as Cantillon, Boon, or Timmermans.

The beer pours a dark maroon color with a matching head. The aroma is good. It has a very tart cherry scent that pierces your nose; very nice. The taste is awesome. It is full of sour cherries and not much else. It refreshes on the way down. I love this beer. The mouthfeel is good. It is a medium bodied beer with good carbonation. This beer drinks great. I could drink about a gallon of this stuff; a good sessions beer.

A: Hazy deep red in color. Initial 1/2" head dissipated quickly to a thin layer of foam leaving no lacing.

S: Super lucious cherry smell overwhelms the nose. Just a hint of a sourness that tempers the sweet smells perfectly. The cherry smell is very natural, and just what I expected after popping the cork on this one. Unreal how good this smells.

T: I'm at a loss. I still can't believe that lambics are categorized as beer. This offering has an incredibly natural tasting cherry flavor to it. The fruitiness is very strong, and balanced out by the lambic sourness to perfection. I can't imagine putting sugar in this beer to sweeten it. It's perfect just the way it is. Fruity, not cloyingly sweet. Aftertaste is a long lingering sourness.

M: Carbonation level seems higher than the Peche lambic I had earlier, and serves to carry the flavors throughout the mouth and some of the aromas back to the nose. Nice and tart, just a bit dry. Alcohol is barely noticeable, but at 4% that should be expected.

D&N: An absolutely perfect dessert beer, or a beer for any other time. The only reason this doesn't get a five on this one is the price. $10 a bottle is pretty steep, but once in a while, tis very worth it. If you haven't tried this one yet, what are you waiting for?

Enjoyed in a snifter

A: dark ruby red, intriguing. Pours with a 1" head, which is of a dark pink color. A lot of lacing.

S: the smell is unparalleled to anything. It's smells like carbonated juice, the black cherries have a strong scent. Scent draws you in, makes you look forward to the first sip, very enjoyable. Smell is similar to that of a freshly opened bag of twizlers

T: great combination of sweet and sour. The taste of the black cherries is very unique and delicious. Starts off very fruity, and finishes with a sour/ tart taste.

M: mouth party! The way it changes from sweet to sour awakens your palate. It is not too carbonated so it is easy to drink.

Overall, this is an incredible lambic, such a good pick up. I am usually one that hates fruity beer but this completely changes that concept. The black cherry sweetness and the sour finish is a great combination. Thanks for the recommendation @bigplay1824

Dark pink in color, with a thin light pink colored head that leaves some sporadic lace. Big time black cherry aroma along with some sugary sweetness. My mouth is watering. Light bodied and a nice mouthfeel. Starts very tart and then the cherry flavor comes out. Flavor is of black cherries, not a fake cherry taste. Turns sour and then back to tart, as these two characteristic battle it out. Very refreshing and easy to drink. Not too syurpy. Have with dessert, possibly chocolate cake. Delicious!!

I didn't quite know what to expect on this one. Overall I thought it was great. It looked like champagne, it tasted a bit like cider. Definitely not what I am used to in a beer. I loved it thought. $11.00 a bottle at the local beer bar is pretty expensive though. I could go for another one. One good thing is you could drink a lot of these and at 4.0 ABV you will still be able to walk out.

Poured a 750ml bottle into a tulip. Aggressive pour resulted int a two inch light pink head. Receded slowly leaving some slight lace on the glass and left some large bubbles on the froth.

Smell is a georgeous bouquet of ripe and juicy cherries and a bit sour funk. I have to say the flavor is more towards marascino cherries over fresh fruit.

Flavor is sour on the tongue but the cherries are abundant. There is not a perceptable yeast character but tons of sourness and cherries.

Mouthfeel is full bodied and creamy. The brew goes down way too easy.

A: Poured cranberry color with a 3 finger pink head. Loads of carbonation. Looks great. Fluffy head.

S: Black Cherry Soda.

T: OMFG. Sour, sweet, cherries, delicious. I love this sweet ass beer.

M: Smooth, rich with mild carbonation.

O: Love this as a dessert beer. Wow. So love Cherry Lambics. Deliciously sweet with a mellow sour aftertaste. Would definately buy a ton more.

This beer pours a deep ruby color, opaque in the glass. It had a light pinkish head. There is a strong cherry smell, almost like a juice. There is a distinct sweet cherry taste that is pleasing and well-balanced with a sour tartness. Because of its initial sweetness, this beer is smooth and easy to drink. It can go down quickly without realizing it if you don't remember to sip and enjoy it! I really like that this beer can be enjoyed any time of the day and makes a particularly nice "breakfast" brew.

A.

A nice dark ruby red color with a fingers worth of pink bubbly head. Head dissipates quickly but leaves an insane amount of lacing.

S.

awesome. big sweet cherry flavor with some of that funky lambic smell.

T.

Big sweet cherries with a little tartness. My favorite sour beer so far. Reminds me a little bit like a black cherry soda. (pop in my neck of the woods)

M.

light bodied. very bubbly like sparkling wine. Goes down great and leaves a nice cherry aftertaste lingering for a bit.

D.

very high. Relatively low ABV and can be found pretty much anywhere. great taste and very refreshing. A great dessert beer or for a special occasion.

Appearance – A dark ruby red color with a reddish pink head that sticks around as a thin layer for a long time. Leaves a cobweb like lacing.

Smell – Cherry bomb. Mostly sweet, but also a hint of sourness. Awesome!

Taste – A sweet cherry flavor with a very light touch of sour. It may be borderline too sweet, but at the same time, it's extremely tasty. This is one of the great lambics in my opinion.

Mouthfeel – Kind of a fine champagne feel (not taste), with a very mild sourness and a cherry aftertaste.

Drinkability – Incredibly drinkable. Far better than most other lambics I’ve tried that are too sour for me.

Hazy ruby with a pink head. Laces in webs, well carbonated.
The aroma is full of cherry, very strong a combination of sour and sweet, maybe they use both black and red cherries, or it's just sweetness from the malt and my nose is playing tricks on me.
Nicely tart, the taste is sour cherry, just light malt under the cherry taste. Sweet cherry comes through next once you're used to the tartness. Not terribly complex as it's just a blend between cherry/sweet/sour in the aroma and flavor departments.
I love it but it never seems like I'm drinking a beer. I like to have this after dinner.

A - It is red/light maroonish in color with a purple head. There is great visible signs of carbonation. When poured into my glass, the foaming bubbles fall to the bottom and rise back to the top. Great retention.

S - I have said this about all the Lindemans Lambics I've tried and the same goes with this one... it has the cork aroma with a hint of cherry. It smells like it will give you hope of what's in store for the taste.

T - It's tart with a fruity acidic bite. It has the similar taste as the smell as if you can almost taste the cherryish cork. I like it.

M - My mouth instantly salivates and my tongue is bitten by the fruity acid. It feels light on my tongue.

D - This is not a chugging beer. I consider it a special beer that I would bring out to share with visitors. I would have wine lovers that do not like beer taste this to show them that not all beers are built the same. I could almost expect a full tummy after a couple bottles.

This is personally my favorite of the Lambics.

Probably one of my favorite beers...thick, frothy pink head and exceptional cherry flavor. Finally, a beer that's good enough for breakfast, brunch or dessert! It may get a little old drinking more than a couple of bottles though...it's a little on the sweet side, but still one of the top two in Lindemans line of lambics.

Beer is the essence of grain. This is the essence of grain and cherries. Emphasis on the cherries. These beers really test the limits of how much fruit can be packed into a mere 750ml bottle. Pure, intense, natural. I find these a lot less cloying than it seems others do. While sweet on the attack, the finish is as dry as a whistle. The impression of sweetness seems perfectly balanced. The fruit was simply very ripe, and that's what carries through the flavors.

355ml foil wrapped, corked green bottle. Pours a cascade of dark cherry wildness into a snifter with a two finger light pink head. Very attractive lacing of the same hue, but with some tiny beige bubbles. Bouquet of fresh dark cherries is intoxicating. It's sinful to taste. Light notes of hops and soft malt remind you that this is an ale. The Chantilly lace on the glass keeps reminding me that thiis Lambic cherry ale is very tasty. You can find this ale at most pubs/cafes in the Low Countries of western Europe. It's not cheap there, either.

Near perfect if you like cherries with your ale.

Small bottle, poured into a wine glass.

Pour - Awesome, beautiful red with a white/pink head that has an awesome light cherry aroma.

Smell - Cherries and sugar, with a very mild earthy aroma that peaks through at the end.

Taste - Really one of the finer lambics I've had, very easy to drink, also sweet with a nice cherry flavor - almost too easy to drink. It has a syrup-like feel, very nice though, with cherry flavors clearly dominating the palate.

Overall - I would suggest this to be the first beer to try in the Lambic style - it is moderately priced (in comparison) and it will quickly let you know how you feel about the overall style.

Worth a shot to at least pick up a bottle.

Cheers.

Pours with a billowing effervescent pink-tinged head, settling out on top of hazy, murky dark pink/red liquid. Nose is tart cherries mixed with a soda pop sugary sweetness. Taste is a refreshing tartness followed by sugary notes and a cherry tartness emphasized by by the light-bodiedness from the wheat malt. Finishes up tart and very refreshing, my only complaint here is that it's just a tad too heavy-handed with the sweetness. Still, it would be too easy to drink mass quantities of this beer...it's just too damn expensive to make that a reality! I love this beer...I must be the minority because I see it really doesn't get high marks from many here.

Pours truly ruby red, with a big old fluff of pink foam.
Smell is sweet tarts, cherries and a light funk.
Tastes immediately sour. This mellows into a sweet cherry pie flavor. The end is total sour sock flavor. Very complex.
smooth and satisfactory. This is a nice introduction into the funky world of lambics. I enjoy this beer immensely
