On tap in a flute-style beer glass.

A- Ruby red color with a big fluffy pink head. The lacing is impressive looking, like cascading of pinkish-white icing. Some lively carbonation is visible.

S- Raspberries, candied raspberries, and more raspberries.

T-Sweet, candied raspberries. Raspberry tart also.

M- Tangy and sweet, yet wine-like dryness on the end. The body is good and the carbonation, to me, is there. It could use some more alcohol for balance, but that's picky.

O- I do not like raspberry flavoring one bit so I was as objective as possible. I tried something out of my comfort zone and it went okay.

Had this on tap at Duckworth's in Charlotte.

Came out a dark ruby red with a small pinkish cap of foam on top. Really sweet nose, with raspberry, lemon, strawberry, and slight astringent smack on the finish. Crisp, bubbly, easy to drink. A delicate feel is nice here given the low ABV.

Sweet juicy raspberries, tart strawberry, with a touch of acetic tartness on the finish. Like a jar of fresh jam. This isn't a beer for everyone, nor is it an everyday beer, but I really liked it. Next to NG's Raspberry Tart, this may be my favorite Raspberry-forward beer to date. A good one for celebrations and one tailor-made for desserts.

Ordered this at the Yardhouse in Hallandale, Florida - Gulfstream location. It was very similar to another framboise (Saint Louise?) I've sampled. However, it had a bit of an after taste that was more bitter than I expected or wanted.

Overall would drink again.

Hated this beer and I'm utterly confused about the raves for it - it had exactly the appearance, taste, smell, and mouthfeel of cherry Sprite to me, and nearly the same alcohol content. It was overly carbonated, despite nearly no head, tasted like artificial fruit flavoring, and cost $9 for 12oz. Tasted nothing like I was expecting from previous experience with lambics, because I didn't realize "Framboise" meant "Raspberry," or I would have skipped it. Total waste of money, easily the worst beer I've had yet.

From 07/27/12 notes. I've actually never had this one and saw it on tap at Rattle n Hum so figured I should try it.

a - Pours a deep, dark pink purple color with one inch of raspberry colored head and moderate carbonation evident. Looks awesome.

s - Smells of a ton of raspberries and dark fruits , lightly sour, sweet fruity malts, yeast, and some light spice. Very nice and very sweet.

t - Tastes of a sour-sweet raspberry overload. Tons of sweet raspberries and other dark fruits, some Belgian yeast, spice, and fruity malts. Kind of like hard raspberry juice.

m - Medium body and low carbonation. Body is super smooth and very easy to drink. Great mouthfeel.

o - Overall I liked this beer a lit. Unlike a lot of sours and Belgian lambics, this one is really not that sour, and is very sweet. Reminds me of sweet raspberry juice that is syrup based. That being said, I still really enjyoed it, and would definitely have it again. If you like sweet fruity beers it is great, but if you're looking for a sour beer this isn't it.

Poured into a flute glass at iTap in Soulard, St. Louis, MO

Pours a nice ruby red color with a pink head that is nice and dense. Slightly clear beer with some nice bright notes.

Aroma of raspberries and raspberry pure. Tart fruit juice notes with some nice refreshing sweet notes. Typical of what was expected. Nice sweet fruit with slight tart notes.

Taste is of sweet fruit and raspberry pure. Nice tartness notes and and a chalky belgian yeast note. Very refreshing and easy to drink. The raspberry notes are delicious and sweet with some nice finishing tartness. Mouthfeel is good and crisp with a nice drying and puckering tartness.

Good beer. One of the classic fruit Lambics out there. VEry accessible and delicious.

Another nice discovery at The World of Beers in Fort Myers, Florida, this one shows a cloudy, rosey mahogany color with a delicate pinkish white scrap of head and modest streaks of lacing. The aroma is definite raspberry cotton candy fruit nougat. Very nice for those that accept the fruit beer concept. The flavor is pretty intense raspberry with a bit of a citrus kiss. I get a grapefruit bready blend with wheat and cherry chocolate somehow hidden in the mix. It’s light bodied but has a solid, frisky feel with a magical carbonation that works overtime without suggesting soda pop. A classy, fruit brew with tasteful sweetness. Fun and satisfying for a dessert sort of experiance.

Served in a 10 oz chalice glass

Appearance – Served a beautiful ruby red with a nice red head. The head fades slowly over time leaving a reddish-white film on the top of the beer.

Smell – Sour raspberry through and through.

Taste – A tart raspberry flavor hits the tongue. The taste sweetens a bit toward the middle, but only to sour up even more at the end. A very tart, but pleasant raspberry flavor is left to linger in the mouth.

Mouthfeel – Light bodies and quite a high level of carbonation. Very fitting for the light abv and tartness of the fruity beer

Overall – It is a nice dessert beer, but not one I would want on any real occasion. For the lambic style however it is quite nice and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a light sweet and sour brew.

Poured from tap into champagne flute/pilsner glass.
I have never had something quite like this before. It pours a deep red/purple with a reddish foam. Nice fruiy juice-like aroma. Taste is sweet, fruity, and tart. It tastes good, but it taste a lot like juice. It has such a low abv, so this style leaves me wondering why id waste calories, and im sure there are a lot, on this drink?
Its tastes good, but Id never get again...there is just no point (in my opinion).

A: Pours an extremely effervesent clear red. The head is light as fizzy and pink.

S: As for the smell. One word comes to mind....Raspberries.

T: Like the nose, this beer is basically a one trick pony. Raspberry. The berry flavor is very real and not generic in anyway. Reminds me of a raspberry sorbet.

M: On the tongue it remonds one of a sparkling wine or a wine cooler. It's light and very crisp.

Overall: Not something i would drink unless i had a jonesing for Raspberries. This isn't a bad beer by any means. I could easily see people not liking it. I found it drinkable and enjoyable.

A delicious brew that prompts me to recommend a new category of measure: "Beer Joy" - amount of inadvertant 'joy' imparted to your fellow beer lovers upon savoring new and recommended brews. Enjoyed it very much with my friends and family on-tap(the ladies loved it);then bottles. Pours a light-hued wine red with red-tint head and absolute never-ending lacing. The pour and appearance indicative of malts of character integrated with the fruit; not just added. A sorbet smell and great sweet-sour taste of raspberry and the unmalted wheat comes out in the pleasant mouthfeel. An effervescent and tart finish makes dessert unnecessary. Much pleasure continues to be derived from sharing with others. We simply enjoy it!

This was had at Old Chicago in an over sized wine glass.

Appearance- A quite hazy dark red with rose highlights. There is quite a bit of lace clinging randomly to the side of the glass.

Smell- Welp, it is a good thing I smell raspberries. It is kind of candied, as well as bitter. It makes me think there may have been some raspberry "essence" used as well as the real deal. There is also a tangy barnyard smell hanging out in here. That slight (hop?) funk certainly makes things interesting.

Taste- It starts out strong with sweet raspberry notes and continues on with...raspberry notes! That same barnyard funk shows up mid drink before finishing up with a some tart raspberry notes.

Mouth feel- I am surprised this beer is medium bodied. Obviously, it finishes a little dry from the bitter/sour finish. It is a little more slick than creamy however.

Overall- I really enjoyed this lambic and can't wait to try more. If you enjoy raspberries, it is highly unlikely you will at the very least not think this is "good".

It's very pretty to look at, very red, almost a deep purple color, although it had little in the way of head or lacing.

Smelled and tasted wonderful, like a big tart bowl of raspberries. Very sweet with little astringency and no bitterness to speak of. I happen to really like this lambic, it's easy to drink and is crammed full of raspberries, one of my favorite fruit beer flavors.

I had this at Hopper's pub, two glasses of it in fact. A wonderful session beer that's easy to drink and downright delicious. Body is medium to full, slick, and wet with sweet raspberry flavors.

I haven't had that many lambics because they're just not very common, but I'm glad that I can still get this one whenever I want it.

I had this on-tap at Max's. Poured into a goblet.

Appearance: Pours a dark red color with a finger of pink head that fades to a ring and leaves mild lacing.

Smell: Lots of raspberry and super sweet.

Taste: Sweet raspberries with a mildly tart finish. Did I mention that this beer is sweet.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with mild carbonation and a finish that is a bit dry.

Overall: Very sweet, but a nice brunch beer. A bit much to have a whole glass, perhaps a champagne flute would be a more appropriate serving glass.

Had on tap in a slender glass at Mahar's Public Bar (Albany, NY) on 7/26/11.

I've never been crazy about lambics, because they're often far too sweet for me, but at the end of the evening I decided to have a sip of the bold crimson stuff that is Lindemans Framboise.

A- Deep purple/crimson with pink head/lacing. Very attractive stuff.

S- Raspberries, raspberries, and more raspberries abound in the aroma. Tart and sugar.

T- Essentially, it is exactly as one would expect based on the color and nose of this brew. Sweet raspberries with a hint of tart, juice, and young wine flavors. There is no hint of alcohol taste. In fact, you'd likely not believe the drink was alcoholic if you didn't know what it was. This is very much a dessert beverage; I can't imagine anyone making this his or her "regular" libation.

M- Light and bubbly.

O- I rarely drink lambics, but this is the one I'd look for were I craving one.

Handed off to me a very nice deep ruby or pomegranate with an inch blush head, which proved to have pretty decent longevity and cling. The beer is fairly clear with lots of carbonation. It has an extremely fruity nose filled with the strawberry, but also cherry and raspberry notes. There's a bit of wheat cracker in the mix, as well. There's very tart strawberry and raspberry flavors right out of the gate, striking the sides of the tongue especially hard. Very bright fruit all the way through, with a moderately clean finish and just a suggestion of bitter at the back of the tongue at the close--likely a result of the acidity. On the lighter side of medium-bodied with plenty of carbonation and nice crispness and acidic brightness. There's a suggestion of syrup on the tongue that I could do without, but a pleasant mouthfeel overall.

The detractors of this lambic all seem lament that this doesn't drink more like a "regular" beer. Well, I'm not a huge fan of lambics, but I find very little to criticize about this one. It is dense with flavor, it has a great appearance, and the bouquet is almost as engaging as the taste. Certainly not something I could drink a lot of in one sitting, but that's almost the point. Well worth trying (or trying again).

Have had this numerous times, but the review was on draft at Winking Lizard. This is often the beer we'll crack on New Years Eve instead of Champagne.

The beer is a deep red, like the color of smeared lipstick. The head is bright neon pink. Or, in the lingo of my childhood, "hot pink." Very soft pillowy lace was drooping down the branded flute.

The smell is of candied raspberries. It is super sweet, which I know is supremely off-putting to many people. I don't mind it, so long as that's what I am in the mood for. Obviously this beer is not a traditional or "true" spontaneously fermented, funky lambic. When this is taken into account, I find it to be a very pleasant and tasty beer. There are some leafy green aromas beneath all of the sugary sweetness if you are willing to look for it.

The flavor is also syrupy sweet, but as a desert beer it does well. The extremely low abv make this beer sessionably tasty. The nicest thing about all of the general Lindemans incarnations is the really potent fruit flavor. Raspberry is not shy in this beer like it can be in many others.

Medium to high carbonation with some mild tartness on the end.

Overall very drinkable, though not quite appropriate for the style. Rating purely to style this deserves a C or lower, but on it's own I'll stand by my higher ranking. The biggest downfall for the beer in my eyes is the steep price tag ($10.99 usually for a 750ml bottle).

Note: I recently had some sorbet at Jenni's Ice Cream in Columbus that was made with this beer. I believe that this is now my all-time favorite ice cream flavor. Also it was much more tart than the beer alone which was a plus for me.

584th Review on BA
Draft to Lambic glass
@ La Creperie in Chino Hills

App- Take some fresh squeezed raspberries and add a little bit of water to thin it out and then some kool aid mix, add some bubbles and voila. Nice 1/2 in head, no lace. Pretty looking.

Smell- Way to sugary sweet. It can be a lambic with Raspberres, but doesnt need to be like Minute Maid canned juice concentrate.

Taste- Just too sweet without an ABV or another flavor or ingredient to balance this out. Was spritzy and bright and paired well with the rich full flavored dessert I had.

Mouth- Almost light bodied, but really was a high carbed beer. Nice fruit flavors remained.

Drink- For what it is, a great intro fruit beer or lambic for the general public. Its needs to be balanced a lot more.

Appearance - Pours a dark red with a faint pink head. About one half finger of head after an aggressive pour by the bartender. Head disappears about after 5 minutes.

Smell - Very sweet and tart smelling. You can really smell the raspberries coming through in this brew.

Taste - Very tart and sour at the first sip leading into a pleasant sweetness near the end. Taste can get a little sickening sweet after nearing the end of a glass. Some carbonation taste in the mouth with also strong taste of raspberries.

Mouthfeel - As stated earlier, there is some carbonation characteristic to this lambic. Very sticky feeling in the mouth from all of the sugar. Goes down rather dry.

Overall - Used to be my favorite lambic, before I had tried any others. After refining my palate a little bit, I realize that this is an above average lambic, but is not the best one out there. Probably prefer the Cantillons (of course) and the Oud Beersel lambics over this brand, but I will still gladly drink some when the other two aren't around.

First had: on tap at Monk's, Philly, PA

Really doesn't resemble a "conventional" beer at all, so if you're not familiar with the style, it might throw you off. Pours bright magenta in color, with a short-lingering, foamy, white head; well carbonated. Raspberry candy in the nose, and and the raspberry overtakes any other flavor that might be present, so basically the fruit sweetness is the only thing you get. And I'm not saying that as a bad thing. Kind of sucks when you find out this is a flavored lambic and doesn't use real fruit, but it's still a tasty treat. Light mouthfeel, but can leave a filmy aftertaste. Drinkable. Save it for dessert.

This lambic isn't traditional at all but this beer is still very tasty. The color is a beautiful red color that very bright. The flavor is really sweet but has a suddle tart bite in the aftertaste. The aroma is super sweet and refreshing. The aroma of raspberries flood your nose and the air around you. This beer is also mixable, you can mix it in a Guinness, Hoegaarden, or even with some vodka for something a little stronger. It's enjoyable for sure and I enjoy it as a dessert.

Had on Tao at the cock and bull, served in a tulip.

A- a very dark red, almost like fresh blood. Almost no head with random wisps of lace masquerading as a proper cap. No lace to be seen.

S- sweet freshly picked raspberries. A slight yeast smell mingles and creates an aromas of pure sweet bliss!

T- crazy sweet and good! Yea its Not 'traditional' and it might taste processed But it is very tasty. Raspberries on top of raspberries, really good flavor That tastes so sweet and good.

M- light but It falls onto your palate and really slams the flavor into your tongue. Tart and a Tad dry, but it Just makes you want to drink more

Overall I really enjoy this Beer! It may not be in the classic style but it is really good! Some may say artificial but I say tasty. The tartness adds some complexity That is needed, overall a beer That I would drink again and again, and my girlfriend loves it too.

Served in a lindemans gold rimmed flute.

Bright red in color with a 1 finger reddish pink head, great retention, bubbles are everywhere, champagne like carbonation is apparent.

Smells like strawberry syrup, a tartness as well as apperant as well as a mustiness.

Big strawberry sweetness on the palate is quickly matched by a tartness, the musty flavor is still there but everything works together well and has a good balance.

Light in body, the carbonation gives it an effervescent quality, quite refreshing. Drinkablity is as high as I hoped, I think that's more because strawberries aren't my favorite thing in the world. Other than that I don't have anything bad to say about it.

Tried this at Sunswick 35/35 in Astoria, NY this evening. Review taken from notes.

A - This beer pours a beautiful red ruby color. It has a nice 2-finger pink head, that left great lacing on the glass. There are also some carbonation bubbles visible.

S - The smell is raspberries. Very sweet smelling, but good.

T - Tastes of raspberries. It is sweet, but not too sweet. It is very fruity and has a hint of malt that comes into play. The taste is delicious.

M - It has a medium body and tingly carbonation. It is sweet but not cloying. Goes down very easy.

D - This has excellent drinkability. I could drink this stuff all day. It goes down super easy, and the flavor is great. I'm sometimes not the biggest lambic fan, but this is a great beer. I would definitely try this one again.

On-tap at the Yard House in Denver, CO. Served in a goblet.

A: Pink tinged copper with mild haze. Champagne like carbonation supports a small peach tinted cap that falls to a patchwork film. Leaves patches of lace behind.

S: The nose is sweet overall, with a strong raspberry presence. A mild tartness keeps the sweetness in check.

T: The raspberries are front and center with an unsweetened fruit flavor. A lemon tartness brings up the rear. The tart fruit flavor in the finish lingers on the tongue.

M: Medium body is somewhat syrupy and has the right amount of carbonation.

D: This is a very nice Lambic. I have a good friend who claims not to be a beer drinker, yet loves this beer. I'm rather fond of it too.
