Poured a deep red into my snifter - pink head fizzed up, then largely left the building, but a sexy looking beer, definitely.

I could smell it right when I popped the cork. Unmistakable raspberry. You'd have to be in bed with a flu-driven 104 fever to not notice the raspberry. Upon closer inspection, some sour notes and pleasant funk aromas waft from the glass.

Taste....good lord, this is just flat out irresistible. Perfumey wild raspberry with a slightly puckery sour hit, not at all overwhelmingly so. Now I understand why you all say the ladies like this so much. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd have to keep a stock of this on hand. Not that this should solely be a girls' beer....you just can't help but go for this, especially someone who loves raspberry like I do.

Mouthfeel - Great. Like a fine champagne. Hell, better than champagne, if you want my opinion.

Drinkability - I'm disappointed that I've already reached the bottom of the glass. That was quick. Didn't exactly savor this over a long period of time...I wish I had more. Damn that price tag...highly drinkable - it would rate an 10.0 in drinkability, if you had a bottomless pit for a wallet.

Serving type: 12-ounce bottle. A batch code is printed on the label but there is no freshness date. The bottle featured both a cap and cork. Also, this has to be the heaviest 12-ounce bottle I have ever held.

Appearance: Served in a New Glarus flute. About a finger of pink foam developed, but it did not stick around very long, leaving a ring around the edge and a skim in the center of the glass. The color is dark, raspberry red.

Smell: The intense fruitiness was impossible to miss after I pulled out the cork. I know it is supposed to be raspberry lambic, but it smells a lot like cranberry juice. However, the raspberries are very noticeable when I put my nose to the rim. The smell is of firm, freshly-picked raspberries.

Taste: Super, lip-puckering tart! And the tartness lingers in the aftertaste. Wow! However, after the initial shock it becomes much more palatable. At first I thought there may be more than raspberries — perhaps cranberries, apples, and grapes — but as the beer warms the rich, darker raspberry flavor takes over. There could be grapes and apples involved. Regarding the texture, mouthfeel, and overall experience, it is very reminiscent of sparkling cider.

Drinkability: Berrylicious! Very tart and fruity, but I like it.

No bottle date. 12oz to a snifter

Pours dark red with a finger of pink foam that receded pretty quickly. Almost no transparency and pretty decent lacing. Smells of raspberry, wheat malts, sugar, and a touch of alcohol. Taste is on the nose, sweet raspberry with a subtle malt. Mouth is a nice tingle, alcohol well concealed. Overall this is a pretty simple beer, not the best or worst, I was hoping for more sour though. Worth a try if you're into mild framboise

I really only like to mix it with Young's Double Chocolate Stout. It is a fantastic combination! It does taste pretty good by itself but I prefer beers that tend to not be as sweet. I have also heard of it being mixed with different ciders and being called a "Hummingbird." this I have yet to try.
