This used to be called simply JG Cook's and was little more than a small town restaurant and bar. The remodel they did really raised the level, completely changing the interior's feel. Definitely a fine place to grab a brew and some good eats.

I'm told one of the two owners/brothers actually worked for InBev prior to taking over this establishment from his father. I'd say the new beer menu reflects the knowledge he gained working for them, offering quite a bit more variety than any other place in the area.

The food was good as well as the bar tenders, who seemed to have at least a bit of interest and knowledge of the microbrews they served. However, the only reason I give it the $$$ - a bit pricey rating is in relation to the surrounding area and it's competition - so don't get too worried. It's a step above above a couple of the other bar/restaurants you might find in the immediate vicinity.

They also do carryout from their connected liquor store, in which I believe they will offer a 10% discount if you had dinned in. It was nice to drink some Chimay at the bar and than before closing grab a large bottle to take home at relatively the same price it might be in a regular liquor store.

Caroline blue has an amazing outside brick patio which is great for the summer nights. You can smell the aroma of the foods outside which makes it difficult not to order food if are trying to go there for drinks only. The service is great because the staff is smart, courteous, and efficient. If you want to watch a sporting event they have stratucally placed HD tvs to watch all your favorite games. The beer selection is always changing. That is what makes this place a true beer drinkers haven. Simply put its an amazing place. Let me say this: if Carolina blue and I were in prison together, I would protect Carolina blue in the prison showers.
