Pours more of a dark chocolate brown than black with a a finger quick to fade beige colored head atop.Big sweetness in the nose, vanilla, mollases, and chocolate, some faint leafiness from hops linger as it warms a little.A little sharp in the mouth wich is odd for an oatmeal stout,I would think it would be fuller and creamier.Flavors of vanilla and some roasted nuts up front on the palate, there is a big shot of a somewhat burnt caramel flavor wich seems to take over the finish of the beer. This is a different kind of oatmeal stout here big on sweetness with different flavors that I don't normally comes across for the style, not horrible but not something I would seek out again.

Thanks to ASUBeer for the bottle!
Pours brown with a small mocha head that fades to a ring around the edge with slight lacing. Looks a little light for a stout.
Tons of molasses in the nose along with a heavy dose of caramel and maybe some vanilla.
A little bit chocolately up front and then the onslaught of sweetness hits. Heavy molasses and don't really get any barrel presence at all out of this one which is a shame because some booze could really cut the sweetness of this one.
Medium to full bodied. Decent creaminess, but it's a bit overcarbed for the style.
Really disappointed in this one. Hardly any barrel presence and the molasses is about the only real flavor in it. I could see how this one may have some potential if they get more of the barrel integrated into it as the base isn't too bad, just one note and sweet.

22oz. Fairly dark brown pour, some light tan head, fades to a few wisps.
Aroma, woody, bourbon, chocolates. Malt notes are a bit mild.
Taste, vanilla, some red fruit. Chocolate, caramel, cocoa. Peat. Turns to an ashy acre roast, mostly coffee. A bit harsh finishing.
About mid body, carbonation is a tad high. Abv is not that noticeable, but the harshness overbears quite a bit making this a chore to drink.
Can probably skip this one in all honesty.

22oz bomber into a snifter
A: Pours light brown with a light brown head that fades to a ring and leaves some lacing on the glass. A bit lighter than I expected but it's black in the glass at least.
S: The nose is mostly blackstrap molasses, caramel, vanilla, and a bit of citrus hops in the background.
T: The taste starts with a nice baker's chocolate flavor followed by molasses, citrusy hops, and a touch of vanilla. Not really picking up any barrel aging notes in this one which is odd given it says it was aged in bourbon barrels.
M: The feel is creamy but a bit too bubbly. Carbonation needs to be toned down a bit so the creaminess from the oats can come through a bit more.
O: This is a good stout but it's pretty weak for a barrel aged stout. I'm glad I got to try it but I doubt I'd search it out again unless they put it in the barrels for an extended period of time.
