Pours jet black. Bit of a tan head dissipates to nothing.
Smells of dark toasted grains and dark chocolate.
Rich smokey flavor followed by hints of cocoa and a mild coffee bitterness.
Thick viscous mouth with a tingle on the tongue.
Pretty good flavorful stout, doesn't set itself apart from other stouts but does what it does just fine. Heavy enough to be pretty filling.

Had this on-tap (several times) at the Aviator Tap House in Fuquay Varina, NC.
Served in a standard pint glass. Pours very dark brown to black, with about 1-2 fingers of light brown head. Pretty good head retention but eventually it goes to a thin ring around the glass. Lacing is light.
There is plenty of heavy roast on the nose, some chocolate but mostly coffee.
Solid flavors that hold strong through the whole experience as it rolls over the tongue. Heavy roasted coffee flavors combine with lighter flavors of chocolate and perhaps some slight hints of caramel. The finish is slightly dry with a longer lingering of that coffee taste.
Easy to drink and goes down smooth. Carbonation is well matched as well. Overall it's very enjoyable and a great stout. Hat's off to Aviator for making a great brew!

On-tap at Flying Saucer served in a standard pint-glass a deep opaque black with a decent light tan head that diminishes to a ring and leaves just a touch of lacing on the glass. Aroma is a nice amount of roasted malts with slight cocoa. The taste is a nice amount of roasted malts and bitter cocoa, quite tasty and complex. The beer is on the light side of medium with slight carbonation. This one is very enjoyable, one I'd love to have again, even possibly a sixtel in my kegorator.
