Serving type: 12-ounce bottle. No freshness date.
Appearance: Poured into a pint glass. The color is light copper. A half-finger of eggshell-colored head reduced to a skim and ring around the edge.
Smell: Citrus and earthy hops at first, but then the earthy hops fade and faint grapefruit takes over. Underneath are lightly toasted malts and sweet caramel.
Taste: Nice flavor, though it does not pack a huge punch. Grapefruit, orange, and lemon citrus predominate, and there is even a little lime sourness. Earthy hops create a bridge between the citrus and malts. Underneath the hops are lightly toasted malts and sweet caramel. As it warms, the flavors begin to coalesce nicely.
Drinkability: Pretty good stuff. It is nothing bombastic but is very enjoyable.

"1362 B2 1240" ink-jetted on the bottom of the bottle, if it's a Julian date, the bottle is over a year old. Purchased at Casanovas.
Very dark reddish orange color, it looks brown in indirect light. Sticky lace that coats the glass in sheets, fairly good surface coverage. Average clarity with some rising carb trails visible.
Smells like bready malt, a little floral note from the hops, herbal Cascade, vague citrus.
Flavors follow suit, malt dominated with some citrusy notes buried deep, apparently grapefruit zest according to the label. Slight lingering bitterness and toasty malt flavors, vague fruity yeast esters. Overall this isn't a groundbreaking pale ale by any means but it's fairly drinkable. Would try a fresher sample to re-evaluate sometime.

Crosscut pours a deep golden color with a very small head. Their are a few weak floral aromas, but hints of lime and citrus. The taste just has a few floral notes come through, but a nice strong lime and grapefruit flavor. I really enjoyed the unique flavors. Overall a very nice pale ale, not a hop bomb, but the lime and grapefruit makes it very enjoyable.

A- Red-copper. Perfectly clear. Head is one finger light tan. Head lasts not so well. Minimal lacing.
S- Delicious hoppy aroma. There's a bit of fruityness, tropical and citrus. Just a bit of malt. Very pleasing aromas.
T- The opening flavors are very nice. Orange, pineapple, light caramel, sugar cookie. Finish has some bitterness but not much flavor, leaving a bit to be desired.
M- Medium body, actually a bit full. Moderate, maybe a bit crisp, carbonation.
O- It's an ok beer. good flavors and good body, needs a bit of work in the finish though.
