Farm Girl pours a hazy yellow color, with almost no head. There is a slightly fruity and pepper like aroma. The taste has different spices, and flowery like notes, and hints of peppercorn. Nice complex flavors coming together, and not overpowering. Overall a nice Saison.

Cloves. That is all.
Initial smell of bananas.
Tasted like an ale which was made with too much clove. I could not get past the clove flavor. In fact, I could not finish it because it was so overpowering. I was looking forward to the "citrus" flavor since it's brewed with orange peel but it was lost on me. No flavor of orange at all.
Personally, this is not a beer I would buy again.

I'm thrilled that a local brewery has a saison as one of its flagship beers, and it's odd that I'm just now getting around to reviewing it. Tasted 4 February 2013, reviewed from notes.
Pours a pale golden straw yellow, lightly hazed, with soft, almost grayish tones. Half-finger of white head, okay retention and lacing.
Smell is buoyant, fruity, and floral, with an almost-enough dose of funk. Orange peel peeks through, complementing the general citrusy flowery drifts. But it's juicy as well, and has a pleasant earthy funk. Hard to describe, sitting more in the realm of flowers, but solidly saisony.
Taste is good, but lacking depth and complexity. Big and pungent, rocking me with flowers, sweet fruit (peaches!), and grain. Quite peachy, actually, with that melt-in-your-mouth juiciness. I like it. Fades to a soft bitterness.
Mouthfeel is fine, if a touch on the flat side. Medium-bodied, expansive and mouth-filling. Just a prickle of carbonation, though.
A solid, tasty saison. Now that I know it, I plan to make this a regular purchase. The best 6-pack saison I can think of around here.
