a: poured into a logo goblet, big off-white head that falls slowly to leave a thin layer on the surface, the beer itself is an attractive chestnut brown with hues of garnet and a light haze
s: plum and raisin ride a body of cleaner malts more typical of the style, not exactly malty - but there's a good deal of fruity sugar as it warms from a pretty cold serving temp, some spicy yeast and grassy hop aromas hint further at the saison inspiration
m: light carbonation, mostly smooth, supported on a medium body
t: interesting flavor structure, there's an underlying saison body all but taken over by maltier flavors of plum and dark cherry as it warms, and a roast somewhere between light roast coffee and cocoa, while retaining that crisp snap at the end as some slightly tannic roast pulls through, spicy yeast output, grassy hop flavors, super balanced
d: no problem consuming this one relatively quickly before the 90+ degree heat took its toll, the saison side of this one is pretty hard to identify, but it's a nice beer whether consistent stylistically or not
Serving type: on-tap
