Came by on mothers day, this is a nice place. My wife was telling me about a beer movie that interviewed the owner lady in her joint. Very cool store with lotsa beers to be uncorked or a neat draft station that on our visit had old milwalkee schlitz and some local brews. The food menu was very nice looking for sure. I like pasties and they had lotsa good combinations. The service was outstanding and friendly, The young lady seemed very knowledgeable about all things beer and the menu. If only all places had staff like this! The beer menu was pretty much all incompassing, with lotsa imports and west coast brews. Now the bottle prices, to me, seemed steep but hey I am a southern boy and $13+ a bomber seems high.

Best beer bar in PDX and I'm lucky enough to live within walking distance. Excellent selection of beers, both American and elsewhere (lots'a Belgians!). Never had pasties before, now I'm in love. The service is the best I've experienced ever (not just bars; ANYWHERE!) and I think they / the servers have the awards to prove it, so it's not just me.

Other than it being a Green Bay Packers hangout (I'm a Niners Fan), this place was everything you'd expect from a Portland hole-in-the-wall pub. I loved every bit of it, from the bottled beer selection, to the 8 taps to the Pasty lunch that we had. The food was phenominal. The pickled veggies were off the chart fantastic. The pastys were amazing. Amust try in North Portland.

I never spend too much time here, but I do pop in at least a couple times a month to see what bottles they have. They have a pretty decent bottle selection, small but there is always something that I like or want to try in the case.
They're pretty sneaky from what I've gathered. There's sometimes something aged in the case that they've brought out from their cellar, but there is usually only one or two bottles of it in the case. Except when they sell what's in the case sometimes two more magically fill the case again...my sense of urgency has gotten the better of me on more than once. I'm on to you Saraveza, I'll probably still feel like I need to buy that bottle but I'm on to you!
I found a 2009 North Coast Old Stock Ale last month.

A: Pretty cool place settked in a residential spot much like most Portland area bars. The decor os rather interesting to say the least. Pretty laid back vibe. You can definitely tell the owner is from Wisconsin.
Q: The beer and food I had was quality but the Jalapeno poppers gave me severe heartburn for hours despite Rx strength medication
S: Nice, prompt with no issues attitude or slowness
S: Draft list was pretty boring but the bottles were nice. I snagged a Blend Love during my visit
F: Pretty good

The bottleshop/tap room combo is catching on, with Portland boasting several now. This place has all the charm of a local pub; it's both intimate and lively and the staff does a good job making sure you drink good beer and eat well. The menu shows a number of items, besides their signature pasties, both veg and non-veg. They boast a great selection of local beers on tap, and if that's not enough for you there's a great bottle selection in the beer chests. As I said, this is a neighborhood pub, so I'm happy that a Portland visitor like myself ended up here because enough Portland beer-heads told me to check this place out.

After living just down the street from Saraveza for many months, finally went down to meet up with friends and siblings and see what they had to offer... especially since I've been aware of their good reputation for quite awhile now.
I'm quite glad I made it in here, and I will be returning frequently. Many of my personal favorites greeted me from inside the very retro green Beer coolers lining the walls as I walked in. I've seen pictures of the interior, but I was far more impressed in person. I think they may have more Beer bottle caps in their mural presentations than I have in my own personal collection! There are plenty of antlers and Beer memorabilia all over the place, and lots of Beer stickers.
The tap list is modest at 10 offerings, but there is some good stuff on there... on my visit I enjoyed the Block 15 "Brewed By Beavers" Rauchbier, Amnesia's "Dusseldorf Alt", and Everybody's Brewing "Cash" Stout.
We had dinner elsewhere, though a friend ordered the jalapenos with cream cheese and bacon and they were a hit.
Highly recommended for a nice-quality selection of bottles and draft Beer with an appetizing menu of tasty snacks and a cozy and charming atmosphere.
