.33l bottle, best before 6 Oct 12. Poured into a C&B Belgian beer glass. Pours a dark brown/ruby red with minimal foam on the head. Pretty much a thin layer covering the cap.
Smells of sweet malts and candied fruits. Caramel apples and stewed pear. Brown sugar and/or molasses. Taste features a bit of a boozy feel combined with dark fruits and a bit of a sweet birch syrup flavor.
Mouthfeel is well carbonated for the style. Relatively smooth and somewhat slick and syrupy. Drinkability...nice warming barleywine style beer for sipping by the fire or pairing with a nice cheese. But, the 9% abv will catch up with you after a couple.

330 ml bottle, ABV is 9%. A strong top fermented Yule/Christmas beer from Aass, nice. Very dark brown colour, creamy and lasting tan head. Pleasant aroma of dark malts, caramel, brown sugar and oak, hints of Christmas spices. Full and rich mouthfeel. The flavour is malty sweet with loads of caramel, also notes of chocolate, to some degree balanced by acceptable hops. A decent barleywine, will go better with fruitcake and nuts than the traditional Norwegian Yule/Christmas dinner.
