Appearance: beautiful copper brown, lots of rising bubbles, thin cap of off-white head, some temporary lacing, good clarity
Aroma: sweet caramel maltiness, a touch of roast (ever so slight), not much hop
Flavor: very interesting... starts off neutral but slightly balanced towards dryness (from the aroma I expected a sweet start), then the caramel sweetness comes in briefly, quickly replaced by a semi-dry finish, hop flavor/bitterness is low to none, a gentle and tasty beer, smooth, almost a Scottish flavor profile... almost
Mouthfeel: medium-light body, crisp carbonation, soft
Drinkability: supreme, could drink many of these, a finely crafted beer

A: The beer is crystal clear dark mahogany red in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a short off white head that left some lacing on the surface and the sides of the glass and a collar consisting of medium-sized bubbles.
S: Light to moderate aromas of dark malt extracts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and the malts lend a bit of sweetness because not much in the way of hops are detectable.
M: It feels light-bodied and slightly thin the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink, particularly if you like something that is malty and a little sweet.

Pours clear, dark brown in color with 3/4 inch head. Taste is caramel, cereal grain, white sugar, and toasted malt. Light bodied, malty, sweet, with moderate carbonation. Smooth and tasty for the style. Could throw back several of these and not notice the time go by. Very clean and smooth. Glad I got several.

Sweet and lightly roasted darkened malt aroma.
Dark amber to brown. Medium dark colored head that was steady. Clear.
Little water quality to the flavor, but dunkel qualities of darker malt, caramel, slight nuttiness and a lingering malt dryness.
Lager light feel that's thin, but thirst quenching.
Just a little too thin and light, but drinkable.

Apearance: clear and light caramelly brown in color, with a head puffy, well-retained, off-whitish.
Aroma: soft and light, but full of spice and fruit, as well.
Sweet and tasty,well-rounded, for nothing dominates here, not much. Malt may be on top, but does not assert itself too much, and hops are non-existent.
Medium-body, medium-length, nutty finish.
Very good texture, plays in the mouth quite well, and the flavor gives off more caramel essence towards the rear.
A very, very good dark lager. Not the best, but not far away from it, either.

This beer just smelled red if that is possible. You could definitely smell the dark amber roast. The head of the beer made a good overall look to the beer, and the honeycomb of tiny bubbles held me in amazement for a second, probably because I was trying to watch Vanilla Sky and this was much more interesting. I was a little let down with the taste, not much complexity but it was smooth. It finished nicely, not leaving a bad aftertaste. A good beer, I would get it again, but I have so many others to try. So many beers, so little time

A fine-Aass dunkel....well not really but I thought that was too good to pass up...
Seriously, this is a slightly above average dunkel....Good looking chestnut brown color....nice sweet cocoa nose..the nose really got me excited, but overall the taste doesn't match the aroma..It's not bad....you get some cocoa on the buds and some European hopping..Mouthfeel is slightly chewy...as for drinkability it ranks about average...buy these for me all night and I'll drink them...give me some other options and I won't...overall it's not bad at all but not outstanding and my rating reflect that..

Pours an impressive dark color. Excellent head, with lace galore. Taste is very malty with chocolate (caramel?) accents. Very impressive mouthfeel. Hoppiness is distinct. Finishes malty smooth, with a twang of the hops at the end. This is good stuff!

The beer pours a quite deep ruby red with a head that is impressive in size, quite frothy and as it decays leaves a nice clinging sheet of lace to cover the glass. Malt dominates the nose with caramel sweetness also light hints of yeast. Front is all malt and a touch to sweet, the top is lacking, and the finish is bitingly acidic with a pleasing hop presence, that is the only thing that saved this beer for me. Average at best, and not something that excites me much, but in all fairness, I would imagine a lot better from the tap than the can.

clear, deep ruby color. a nice big, foamy head and a good deal of lace. the aroma is somewhat muted; with hints of roasted malts and fruits. tastes of chocolate and caramel malts with undertones of dried fruits in the beginning, but inexplicably they wash away from an almost too smooth (watery?) mouthfeel. a ghostly hop bitterness hits the tongue too in the end, adding a moment of crispness...then nothing. kind of an odd dark lager...so much potential, but leaving the drinker (me) perplexed. oh well...pretty easy drinking anyway.

Hazelnut and cherry cordial nose. An attractive chestnut hue misrepresents a malt spine that tastes like your drinking this beer from the wrong end of a telescope. And just as you think you detect a pleasant toastiness some freaky tart dude, riding a wave of bitterness, washes it away. An average brew in Dunkel clothing. If they could match the flavor a little closer to the nose we'd have a serious drinker.

Pours (out of a can) clear copper with a decent beige head. Some slight roast tones on the nose. Also a little fruitiness/yeastiness on the nose. There's a definite off flavor in the taste and especially in the aftertaste. yuck. Tide Detergent. I've had worse, but this one's no fun either. There's really not a lot to like about this beer (except for appearance and nose).
I've yet to come across an Aass that I like.
