500ml bottle poured into an Orval goblet.

A:
Slight hazy amber color with rather small foamy white head, short retention, it dissipates to small bubble film covering with slight lacings.

S:
The smell is mingled by sweet malt, caramel, candy sugar, yeast, aromatic floral hop which is also slight herbal, hint of fruity scent.

T:
Simple but delicately balance and very good; fruity ester from yeast, sweetness from caramel malt and candy sugar, vague hop bitterness, some bread note, all these portions blend well together and make truly inviting flavor.

M:
Moderate body, smooth mouth feel with well suit carbonation and fine crispness in its body.

O:
All round balance, it keeps steady character and persistent pace throughout the drinking journey. This is something I can savor all night long. Maybe simple is the best.

I tried this beer in a tulip and in the recommended temperature.

A: It pours a gold milky yellow, with a two finger white head that when dissipates leave a lacing on the glass.

S: A faint fruit smell, nice but a bit too faint to me.

T: Follows the nose, a fruity softly taste, that is followed up by the bitter of the hops in a perfect equilibrium with its malts.

M: Refreshing and spicy, the bitterness in the end is durable as to make you to want another sip.

O: It is a complex beer, but would work perfectly as a session beer with its refreshing and light flavours, but carrying all complexity expected from a Trappist.

It worth the try!

330ml bottle purchased from Dan Murphy's in Alexandria.

Pours a bright and clear golden blonde colour like you want. Head is a little disappointingly flat after the initial flurry of activity, lasting only as a bubbly inconsistent ring around parts of the edge. Minimal lace. Body is firm but fluid. Overall, it looks pretty decent, but perhaps not up to the standard of the great trappist blondes.

Nose is round and slightly deep, again without the richness and complexity of the best examples. Slight sweatiness, some banana, dark fruity esters and a slight phenolic bite. The sweetness is dominant, perhaps to the detriment of some of the more subtle complexities. It still smells like a decent Belgian blonde, but I guess you have to compare this to a higher bar than many other styles.

Taste is similar. Rounded chewy sweetness, more ripe banana esters, slight plasticky phenolic bite towards the back. There's a lingering sweetness to the finish, which isn't altogether unpleasant: clinging toffee characters stick around after the sharper notes drop out. It's not bad, but it seems a bit like it's just checking the boxes.

Feel is quite disappointing. Really rather aggressive carbonation means the feel and the flavours don't integrate but exist as separate entities.

Overall, pretty decent. But there are so many examples better than this, and some examples that are significantly better. Overall, I was a bit underwhelmed.

330 ml bottle, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 6,5%

Deep orange golden colour, with tiny bit of activity in the glass.. Big white and thick head of three fingers that is going down without any lacing left behind. Very good retention though.
Very nice aroma with sugars, bubblegum and lots of fruity notes.
Also lots of fruits on the taste, making it somewhat sweet. A slighty metallic aftertaste, along with the bubblegum and some bitterness on the finish.
Thin to medium body, carbonation above average and just a bit dry on the palate.
Very good, refreshing beer and easily drinkable.
