Slightly herbal, leaning to pine on the nose, with hints of bread crust. Tongue seems to see a bit of citrus with a decent malt backing; bitterness is a little one-dimensional, as seems to be the case with most session IPAs.

Had Back Country at Lennie’s (now relocated) on Kirkwood, Bloomington, IN, on draft into tulip pint, and poured from pint can, bottom stamped “PKG DATE 04/12/19,” into nonic pint.
Pours amber-gold with clarity and 1 & 1/2-finger creamy off-white head, with excellent retention, leaving big chunky lace down the glass. Very pleasant sweet melon and floral aromas, and as warms mild malt and citrus. Begins with some dry hop bite, then a bit of slightly sweet light malt, before mild citrus leads into a drying, slightly bitter finish.
Bloomington has squared the impossible session IPA circle by brewing an excellent, aromatic and flavorful APA. Aren’t we all just ready to admit that what we need are more APAs?

Poured a bit darker than I prefer, but it's just appearance, so whatever. No fretting here.
Very subtle nose. Okay amounts of citrus and pine. Nothing standout.
Taste was more assertive, though not aggressive. Piney. A bit resinous. Some citrus notes. Again, nothing standout, but a nice profile.
Feel was alright. Just kinda standard.
Overall, this was a pretty good session IPA. My review may seem lackluster, but I did enjoy it!

Appearance: Pours from the pint can a cloudy golden with a thick head of off-white suds, and lovely, intricate lace. Yes!
Aroma: Wonderful citrus, tropical, and floral hops here. Very nice!
Taste: Light and easy, with plenty of citrus and tropical hops and little to no bitterness. This is a tasty and superb session IPA, and one I’d gladly return to again and again. Bravo!

Look: golden amber, semi-translucent, 2+ fingers of off-white head.
Smell: some hops, LOTS of toffee malt. An inordinate amount of toffee malt.
Taste: there is some hop flavor, but the malt is really present. Maybe even the dreaded butterscotch. <gack>
Feel: a little creamy feel from the malt.
Overall: session IPA's are normally very bright and light, this particular offering isn't in that vein. Enjoyable, but not in quantity, IMHO.

This is not a bad beer, and I like that it is in collaboration with the Indiana Forest Alliance... however, this beer needs to be a bit more balanced. Great nose, the initial taste is of light citrus with what I'd call pine notes that get stronger through to the back. The aftertaste is a bit off putting...earthy lingering, but doesn't last long. For the price though, there is definitely better choices. I'm glad I got to check this one off my list, but I'd not go back to it as there is better quality out there.

Fairly good session IPA, but not nearly as robust as some of the others that I've had recently. Here goes:
A: Light and relatively clear orange. Head is OK, but it doesn't linger very long and only leaves moderate lacing. There's also somewhat of a dearth in carbonation - not nearly as much as it should be, IMO.
S: Very light floral scents. Lots of herbs and flowers. Some lighter fruit like oranges, lemons, and tangerines. Good, but the scents are somewhat muted and hard to detect.
T: Follows the nose except slightly more robust. Floral tastes interspersed with oranges, lemons, etc.
F: Little light and watery, but not as bad as some other session IPA's that I've had.
O: Decent beer. Kind of wish that I had gone with the Sierra Nevada, though.

A: A very clear hay gold with about two fingers of head with good lacing retention. The appearance is perfect for the style.
S: This seems to have been brewed with citrus hops, yielding a strong hop character, fruits, and a "forest" smell. Again, spot on.
T: The citrus flavors kind of lead here, followed by the hops and the pine. A very clean session IPA, and a good but unremarkable flavor.
M: It's fresh, it's carbonated, and it's peppy.
This beer gets it right for the style of session IPA. It's slightly higher quality, but very limited distribution and more expensive than most.

Rather earthy, good deal of pine. Light, but in a good way as it in a session IPA, yet the flavor is still there.

Big thanks to TDA8 for throwing this in as an extra.
A- Slightly paler than amber, very nice transparency, thin white head that disappears quickly.
S- Caramel malt, a dash of apples and pears, a hint of citrus.
T- Some caramel malt comes through and adds some earthiness. Some orange zest comes out with a bit of other citrus.
M- Light to medium bodied, somewhat sticky and resinous. Pretty good body for a lighter IPA.
O- A good session IPA. Very different than most session IPAs I have had at this one borders on a session amber.
