22oz bottle poured into a tulip.
A - Cloudy dark brown with a light biege head, good lacing.
S - Band-aid, dried dark fruits, faint sweet/carmel.
T - Almost all dark fruits (raisons/prunes), ends with the band-aid funk from the belgian yeast. That's pretty much it.
M - Medium. Low carbonation, a touch watery for the style.
D - Very easy to drink, alcohol is hidden well.
Very one dimensional. Almost all dried dark fruit taste. It still tastes good, but not as complex as others of it's style.

22oz. Bomber
A) Pours with a two finger head then settles slowly leaving a creamy lacing. Reddish brown body.
S) Tree fruits. Yeasty. Not overly aromatic.
T) Rich malts. Brown sugar. Raisin. Subtle hints of caramel. Toasty malts. With a high ABV it doesn't dominate the flavor profile.
M) Full body. Mellow carbonation. Very smooth for the high ABV.
O) A delicious quad. True to form with a pleasant flavor profile.

Bottled 8/2012
Poured into a Parrish Brewing snifter
A - deeper amber in color but did get some light shining through. Poured a slight one - finger head
S - Got the two Belgian Abbey yeast strains with some darker fruits like date and fig as well as some candied sugars.
T - similar to aromas. Sweet dark fruits like figs but also got a little pear and biscuits. Other than that, pretty simple for what I am used to from this style.
M - Good taste, but not much going on. I lime that in sometimes you get too much thrown at you but this stays on the simpler side. Very little to no carbonation. I would'vd liked a little more in this area.
O - Just a simple, nice-tasting quad. Could have used a little more complexity but its good enough to get again. It just wouldn't be at the top of my list.

August 2011 Bottle Date, enjoyed 4/28/13
A: The beer pour out of the bottle brown in color that looks decent clean and allows a lot of light to peer through. About two fingers of off white head builds up, but only waits around for a few minutes. No bubbles are noted. 3.5
S: The aroma is very sweet, with some dark fruits coming through although I wouldn't describe this as fruity. It's musty, with esters and Belgian yeasts playing the strongest notes. 3.5
T: The taste is very sweet, but otherwise balanced. The candied sugar, yeasts, spices, and a caramel character all come together, but can't quite balance out. I'm left with an aftertaste that isn't great, but that I don't particularly like. 3
MF: It's too thin and below average on the carbonation front. The drinkability is injured by the bad aftertaste. 2.5
O: It's good, but doesn't stand out in this style. Would have benefited from the dried plums they stopped adding about a month before this came out. 3
