Note: The batch I tried was a little variation of their normal brew. They added hazlenut extract to it.
This was a black as black could be colored porter. Nice creamy head on top.
The scent was full of creamy vanilla and a ton of hazlenut.
The flavor that hits you forst was the vanilla, followed closely by the hazlenut. The hazlenut was a bit rich. This may be just because the beer was so green.
The flavor just sits in your mouth. Very filling.
The only thing that killed the drinkability here for me was the hazlenut. A bit too strong.

Had this straight from the tap at Buckeye Brewing in Bedford Heights.
Poured a deep dark black with a nice creamy head that tried to escape the glass. Smells heavily of vanilla. There is very little vanilla in the taste though. Mostly this is like a nice creamy coffee. Think of a chilled coffee with sugar and cream and you've got it.
This is a good beer from Buckeye, I just don't like 'em very sweet.

Pours a modest, light brown head. This is a solidly black beer. The lacing trails and disappears quickly. You can certainly smell the vanilla... more so than you can taste it. The coffee flavor is strong. Reminds me of an iced coffee. Surprisingly clean finish. Very drinkable.

Quite an interesting brew. This is the first Buckeye beer that was in a 12oz, not 22oz bottle. That may be for the best because this beer was a little disappointing to me. Pours practically black with a thick light beige head. As with Stoney Creek's version, this is on the carbonated side for a Porter, and the vanilla is not very prevalent in the aroma or flavor. As a matter of fact I liked this one less. It did get noticeably better as it warmed, and I ended up drinking it warmer than I usually drink Porters. Flavor of coffee and malt with underlying sour milk. Finish was a little dry which indeed kept this from being too hard to drink. Either way this won't be high on my list the next time I get Buckeye beer.
