A: Amber with a quickly dissipating head.
S: A bit tart with a faint (too faint) hint of cherry.
T: Heavy with hops on the front end, then a cherry taste on the way down. OK, but nothing special.
M: Not great. Dry and heavily carbonated.
D: Hypothetically, you could drink a few, but I don't know why you would.
Overall: I was excited to try this one out. But I was disappointed from the onset. The appearance is just kind of bland and totally unassuming. The head leaves quickly and is reluctant to reappear. The taste is way too light on cherry and kind of a bit skunky heading in. Too dry, too carbonated. Honestly, if you're at Shipwrecked, go with another beer.

Served in a Walter Payton shaker pint glass.
Well, at least there are Door County cherries wherever the hell I've been shipwrecked... Anyway, this stuff pours a clear brass topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose reminds me of those cheap, microwaveable cherry-flavored fruit pies so prevalent at 7-Eleven and other such purveyors. In fact, the smell is so strong, so distinctively cherry-y that it not only approaches artificiality but passes it entirely. Not much else to be found here. The taste continues this tradition with its own twist: not only is the cherry flavor artificial, it's also medicinal now. Yay... A bit of soggy wheat comes along in the finish, but that about does it here for complexity. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, I'm not a fan of this stuff, as it's just to fake-cherry-flavor-filled for my tastes.

I got a 6-pack of this from Woodman's in Janesville, WI for $7.79 in Winter 2011.
Pours a clear reddish amber color with not too much of a head due to the lack of carbonation. Scent is heavy with sweet cherry juice scents with some wheat scents as well. The texture is rather flat and uninviting. It really reminds me of the taste of day old beer with some grenadine added. Probably one of the worst fruit beers I've had. It's still drinkable but not very enjoyable. I think I'll stick to Sam Adams Cherry Wheat the next time.

Clear light copper and sunshne color. Light bubbling, light head, and no residual foam. Lack luster appearance overall.
Cherry syrup and maybe some light toasted barley and wheat, maybe... Thats it.
Taste is cherry syrup and watered down toasted malts. The malts seem a bit bitter and adjuncty. Not hop bitter, but maybe corn and rice bitter, or hard water mineral bitter.
Make sure you drink this beer cold and relatively fast for full flavor enjoyment.

Beer poured from a bottle into a tall Hefeweizen style glass
A - Beer pour with a half finger white colored rocky head; moderate level of carbonation formed; opaque or cloudy; dark orange colored body; head did not hold very well;' absolutely no lacing
S - Maraschino cherry blast; hits the nose and that's pretty much it; still kind of unique to warrant a higher rating; fruit punch; slight caramel malt scented back end; floral
T - Flavor profile is heavily loaded with Maraschino cherry flavors and that's about it; light in other flavors, like the all important malt notes; sweet and floral, like rose; cherry flavor lingers for a little then turns turns watery
M - Effervescent and thin; there is some malt aftertaste, but only after spoiled fruit taste comes up
D - Beer has a great cherry smell and no support from the taste side; I was really let down; it reminded me of the first batch of beer I brewed using one of those Mr. Beer kits - great looks and lacking in any malt or other flavors

Poured In: Snifter
This bottle is at least a year and a half old, perhaps around two years.
Appearance: The pour is an amber and gamboge color with very little head. There are a few splashes of lace on the side of the glass and the beer is quite effervescent.
Smell: For those who say they can't smell the cherries, I think you need to blow your nose, and I have an old bottle too. The sweet tart cherries really come through with just a bit of spice as well.
Taste: The palate starts out with pale malt coming through quickly followed by sweet and tart cherries. There's a little bit of spice mixed in as well, though not much. Regardless, the slight phenol taste is welcome because I wasn't expecting it.
Mouthfeel: Thin to medium bodied, carbonation is right for the style.
Drinkability: This was a very easy beer to drink, though I wouldn't want another one of these in an evening. I will say that I'm glad this wasn't overly sweet which was something I was nervous about. I can't stomach many sweet tasting things, so to me this was a good beer that lived up to its expectations.

Draft at Fish Creeks Coopers Corner. Reddish amber color with pretty much zero head. Aroma is of tart cherries. The taste is pretty disappointing. Slight cherry taste and then a bland aftertaste. Fairly pedestrian. Medim mouthfeel. Blah, not good. If you want a cherry wheat and you are in Door County just go for a Hinterland, it's much better.

12 oz bottle in a weiss glass. No date or info.
A - One strong pour down the glass revealed this beer to have the power of a thick, off-white head; about three fingers tall in fact. Too bad it had a low retention. The good news through is that above a clear golden yellow body is three fingers of dense lace.
S - Hints of skunk juice toy with my olfactory senses. It's mot definitely there but in such a small amount it's almost unnoticeable. It smells like the beer is off a bit more than it's light struck scent too. Thick vanilla candle then comes in strong like a Yankee candle was just lit or you walked into a "ye olde scent shop" type of place in a small town. Soft wheat and light, slightly syrupy cherries become an afterthought at this point.
T - Thankfully the strongest parts of the nose fade away to let the actual beer show through. Soft, timid wheat backs up a lightly tart cherry flavor nicely but still remains a bit thin. Too thin actually. It's almost like a lightly flavored blonde ale the more I sip it. A touch of that chunky vanilla in the taste would actually be pretty good but for some reason, it only appears in the aroma.
M - Smooth and light-bodied, Cherry What has a moderately light carbonation finish for the style. Too thin otherwise.
D - The different between the nose and flavor is a little awkward to process while drinking. I don't know what's going on with that or why this seems filtered, but it's heading in the right direction, it just needs some work. Still, it remains a fair and easily drinkable summer light fruit beer.

12 oz that I found at a store in Appleton.
Pours into my weizen glass a red/orange. The bottle says artificial colorings were used, I don't really see it so I guess that is good. The head is massive and off-white and leaves some nice lacing.
It smells like a normal run of the mill american generic craft beer smell with a hint of cherry.
The taste is very spicy, with an almost vegetable flavor, I'm not really tasting the cherry.
Run of the mill.

When examining the bottle before pouring I notice 'Wheat ale with natural cherry flavor and artificial color.' Seriously?! A craft beer from freaking Door county Wisconsin can't use it's own local amazing cherries and has to rely on some cheap tasting substitute. What is this artificial color business. If you want the beer to have a red hue throw in some mid range crystal malt, for the love of god why use artificial color. From that line alone this beer is not promising.
The beer pours a hazy amber with a white head. The aroma is all tart cherries but seems a little fake and sweet. Taste is boring with just a hint of cherry flavor and does not deliver on the promise provided by the nose.
All in all it is a bland beer and I am very disappointed. I mean a cherry wheat beer from Door County. How could this not be good? Oh yeah don't use any actual cherries and load it up with 'natural flavor and artificial color'. Just avoid this and grab a New Glarus Belgian Red if you want real Wisconsin cherry flavor.

A - An aggressive pour yielded a foamy but slight eggshell white head. This brew is a cloudy reddish orange color with small specks of sediment throughout.
S - Not much of a nose at all...I strain to smell a slight cherry scent, not much there though. Maybe it's too cold.
T & M - Pretty tart, kinda sour... this is not a fresh cherry taste as I had expected. I guess it has a bit of a malt backbone but I'm not sure what they were going for here. Mouthfeel is thinnish, almost watery. It does finish crisp though.
D - Maybe I've just been spoiled by the fruit beers of New Glarus and the belgian lambics that I love so much. I was hoping to really like this beer, as it is a local brew...just not impressed though.

I love wheat beers and fruit beers. I will try to be as polite as possible in this review. I love good beer and have been spoiled on some of the best Belgian, German and domestic beers there are. (Mardesous, Orval, Boulevard Brewing and Unibroue to name a few for perspective.) That being said, this beer was as close to awful as I have rarely suffered. An attractive pour, the nose was medicinal. I detected no cherry. The attack in the mouth was stunning: shock of artificial cherry and something bordering on metal. Corny and no banana, no spice. Ack.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A- CLoudy dirty brown color
S- Faint sweetness, I assume is supposed to be cherry
T- Very weak (if any) cherry flavor, like a severely water down juice
M- Very little carbonation, feels like a soda that went flat
D- Fortanetly, I got this with a mix and match. One was more than enough.
