Got a growler of this at Al’s since my girlfriend loves sour beers and we recently enjoyed a bottle of Le Bleu so needless to say I was excited. Pours a nice pink hue with an active bright white head. Lacing is present and carbonation lasted till the last drop. Lots of tart lactic notes in the nose, very little blueberry present. The first sip jolted my tongue awake. Lots of carbonation bite and a nice tart acidic quality. The beer lacked any brett funk that I expect from a sour beer. After seeing it classified as a Berliner maybe that’s why it wasn’t present, if lacto was used for the souring. The beer did not have a huge blueberry presence but it was there just subtle. Overall the beer was fantastic an easy drinking beer and I was sad when the growler was gone. Can’t wait to try and clone it next summer when blueberries are on!

Growler shared by Marco. Thanks!

A: Pours a beautiful orange-ruby body with a small white head.

S: The nose reminds me overwhelmingly of grapefruit. I suppose I can see how some very tart blueberries can have a similar smell. Lightly acidic.

T: The taste gives dry blueberries, a bit citrusy even. Some light malt behind. The finish is quick and bland.

M: Light-bodied with active carbonation.

O: If I didn't know this beer was made with blueberries, I would have guessed it was made with grapefruit. Either way, it's pretty fruity but lacks sufficient acidity to make it more interesting.
