Extremely hazy golden orange body, topped by four fingers of dense slightly off-white foam. Some nice stretchy lace.
Huge citrus nose, big oranges, pineapple, and grapefruit. Fresh and inviting.
Thick heavy slather of sweet caramel. Explosion of juicy fruits, again with the orange, pineapple, and grapefruit. Underlying bitterness that grows to the swallow, and lingers long past. Final notes are the citrus fruits though.
Firm, smooth medium mouthfeel.
Terrific tasty and fresh DIPA.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a small amount of white head.
The scent is of light citrus hops, some sweet grassy malt, some notes of alcohol.
The taste is very light; consisting of bitter citrus hops, grassy malts, and a noticeable
alcohol presence.
Light body, very crisp and thin, high carbonation.
I wasn’t impressed with this beer. The flavor was very light and watery and was difficult to finish.

From 10/13/12 notes. Thanks to whoever brought a growler of this to the Top Hops tasting...I really liked it.
a - Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a few white bubbles and light carbonation evident, probably due to the growler.
s - Smells of citrus hops, grapefruit, fruity malts, tropical fruits, and bready malts. Loads of citrus and fruit; very nice nose.
t - Tastes of citrus hops, lemon, grapefruit, tropical fruit, bitterness, spice, fruity malts, wheat, grains. Decent bitterness up front; again, lots of citrus.
m - Medium body and low carbonation. A decent bitter bite from all the hops.
o - Overall a really nice DIPA. Never had anything from them before and this was a great introduction. Lots of citrus and fresh fruit to it; would certainly like to have it again sometime.

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.
A - Pours hazy golden yellow with a nice one and a half finger tall white head leaving thin rings of lace down most of the glass.
S - Smells of pungent citric hops, fresh zested tropical fruits, fresh cut grass and some light sugary sweetness. Very hoppy from start to finish with a touch of booze creeping in toward the end of the glass.
T - Starts off with an intense citric hop bite slowly giving way to hints of sugary sweetness, fresh grass and some nice fruitiness, growing lighter as it sits in the glass. Finish is very hoppy with some light sweetness, lingering on the palate long after consumption.
M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Sweet, hoppy feel from start to finish. The sweetness grows as it sits in the glass, threatening to overpower everything in its path, thankfully it does not.
O - I like this version better than the Sunset version. It is more focused and executed very well. Maybe a touch too sweet but that isn't a big deal when the rest is so good. Give it a try if you get a chance.

Draft offering at Als served in a tulip shaped pint. The brew appears a hazed pale yellow to gold with a creamy white topping. It leaves frothy white patches of lace sticking to the glass. Solid head retention that lasts throughout the entire duration.
The aroma is fresh and juicy with citrus hops. A bit of tropical and grassy quality with a mild edge of veggies from the wet hops. There is some sweetness here to the nose that couples with the alcohol esters nicely. At times this comes across candy-like.
The taste has quite a bit of residual sweetness to hide that alcohol. The fruity hops mixes with alcohol esters to really drive home a fruity almost tropical aspect mixed with melons like cantaloupe. As more sips are taken, it has a mild vegetative aspect somewhat rindy and grassy.
This is a medium to full bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is smooth and creamy in the feel. Very solid, fresh and juicy aroma and the taste to match. My only gripe about this brew is the residual sweetness which prohibits me from wanting to drink glass after glass but the sweetness does a rediculous job hiding the alcohol.
