Adding this brew as a milk stout even though it is advertised as a milk porter. On tap at the source served in a Pizza boy branded and shaped pint. The brew appeara dark brown in color with a brown cap that recedes to a thin film atop. Rising bubbles of carbonation maintain a lacing atop.
The smell is sweet with a hint of something like lactos typically found in some milk stouts but with an exaggerated sweetness like vanilla. Some roastiness to this like chocolate and coffee.
The taste has that sticky vanilla bean flavor upfront that dissolves into some roasty grain and faint nutty aspect. A bit of dark fruits and some hints of mineral inclusion to citrus hops on the backend. As it warms up it has a mild spiced aspect faintly reminescent of cinnamon or anise with a touch of rootbeer afterthought.
This is a lighter than medium bodied brew with ample carbonation. Overall not a bad brew, it is easily approachable and easy drinking without the sweetness getting out of control. Worth a try.

My first Pizza Boy offering since Terry joined the team...
A - Three fingers worth of active quickly receding medium brown colored head with a very rocky top... What's left is a splotchy lacing, thin collar, and lots of carbonation bubbles bursting through the surface... The color is a dark brown teetering on black that allows a bit of light to leak in around the top of the glass... Loads of carbonation bubbles cling the glass, detach and rise at a moderate pace...
S - Interesting nose with good complexity... Vanilla... Peat... Raisins... Cocoa... A touch of roasted malt...
T - Vanilla... Light roasted coffee... Faint chocolate notes... Some dark fruit as well... Nice balance... A tasty little brew...
M - On the lighter side of medium bodied... Smooth... Lightly carbonated... Sleek... Perhaps a tad bit thin...
D - Very quaffable... Much lighter than expected... A tasty interesting brew... Quite sessionable... Definitely took care of the Milk Stout craving that I've had recently quite nicely... I would gladly drink again...

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.
A - Pours deep, dark brown with a nice one finger tall tan head leaving patchy rings of lace down parts of the glass.
S - Smells of warm vanilla, raisins, figs, chocolate and dark roasted malt. The vanilla really starts to build toward the end of the glass but it stays fairly well balanced.
T - Starts off with plenty of vanilla sweetness quickly giving way to hints of dark roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit and some light graininess. The vanilla is sweet but not to the point of being cloying. Finish is kinda sweet but it doesn't linger for very long.
M - Medium-Light body with moderate carbonation. Smooth feel initially growing a little thin toward the end of the glass.
O - First time I had this one it was a little thin, however the second time it was much better. The vanilla works well with the base and the low ABV makes it very easy to drink. A very nice "milk porter."
