Appearance is a brownish copper with a finger of head that enjoyed some decent retention and left nice lacing in its wake.

This offering just has so much going on. It leads off with caramel malt and is followed by a generous dose of hops. This beer is so well balanced that it makes me want to weep like a baby. There is a touch of sweetness that pokes through the bitterness on the finish.

Plain and simple, this is an example of pure excellence in craft beer making.

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.

A - Pours hazy dark amber with a nice one and a half finger tall white head, slowly dissipating down to a thick film, leaving sticky strings of lace on the sides of the glass.

S - Smells of caramel and toffee from the malt, strong citric fruit rind, bit of fresh cut grass and some mild booze. The malt grows as it warms but the fruit still shines through it nicely.

T - Starts off much like the nose does with a mix of caramel and toffee malt sweetness and the bright citric fruit rind slowly being joined by the grassy hops and the mild booze burn. Finish is more of a continuation of the same, malt and fruit linger long after the finish.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, fruity feel with only a hint of the 10% coming through.

O - I enjoyed this one. It was described to me as kind of like a fruitier version of Double Bastard and I would agree with that. If you like DB you should definitely give it a try.
