picked up this bottle not knowing what i was getting into. the only reason i bought it was because i wanted a bottle with a swing top. it poured out a very clear golden color with a bright white two finger head. smell's of malts and spice. taste was of malts and spice with a slight bitter hop presence. mouthfeel was smooth and bubbly with a slightly dry finish. overall a good beer that i will definatly buy again.

A: Golden colored, slightly hazy, with a very nice white fluffy head. Pretty good lacing. Lots of carbonation visible.
S: Not a whole lot to smell. There are faint whiffs of spice, some toast, and some alcohol. Pretty below-average for a Tripel though.
T: Not much going on in the flavor department either. There are very light flower-like alcohol flavors, and nothing else.
M: The mouthfeel is very nice. It is smooth and bubbly, with just enough carbonation to leave a light tinge after the dryness hits the mouth. It is very light bodied.
O: Overall the beer tasted very plain. There wasn't much spice or character to it. I can't say that it was one-dimensional, because it was barely even that. Despite the lack of flavor and aroma, the beer looked and felt very nice. I probably wouldn't buy it again.

16 ounce bottle into chalice, best before 4/9/2014. Pours hazy and cloudy golden orange color with a 1 finger fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of pear, apple, grape, bread, candi sugar, honey, clove, earth, pepper, herbal, and yeast spiciness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity. Taste of apple, pear, grape, apricot, bread, pepper, clove, earth, honey, candi sugar, herbal, and yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of light fruits, bread, pepper, clove, honey, candi sugar, earth, and yeast spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice flavor balance and complexity; with a nice malt/spiciness balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly slick and crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good Belgian tripel style. Very nice complexity and balance of flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

[Suggested Glassware: Trappist Glass]
The pour was a clear light golden yellow with an average (1-2 finger) white creamy head that had great retention and superb sheets of lacing.
The aroma was of a light grain malt and a musty sweet Belgian yeast with notes of banana, green apple, citrus (lemon), bubblegum and coriander.
The taste was malty and lightly sweet with a touch of apple and a hint of banana early on, with a nice fruity ester creeping in along with a bold yeasty presence and just a bit of spice at the end. The flavor lasted only a short time proceeding the swallow with the fruity yeast taste lingering for a little while, before fading away entirely.
Mouthfeel was light in body with a watery yet mildly dry texture and a strong lively carbonation.
Overall a light flavorful Abbey Ale with a great drinkability, which could be dangerous considering the somewhat higher ABV...

Served in a snifter.
Appearance Strong gold color with slight hazing, white head was real thick upon the pour coming off roughly to 1 1/2".
Smell: Strong yeast, light fruit and sweet aroma.
Taste: Robust and full, not too complex but well worth trying. Yeast is crazy heavy, little fruit taste which adds a notch of sweetness to the beer.
Mouth: Medium-full carbonation and great texture and sticking after-taste.
Overall: Little pricey, but well worth treating yourself to. If you like tripels this will definitely not disappoint. Salud!
