Count me as another sucker for the bottle...a funky clay/stoneware swingtop with a pebbly surface and deep mustard glaze. So lets get to the contents...
A golden pour with steady carbonation. Fruity yeast in the aroma, creates some anticipation. Taste is light and effervescent, with signature Belgian farmhouse yeast rounding it out. Not too heavy or boozy, this one is a solid strong pale ale. The bottle disappears all too quickly...
Notes: 2007, recently cracked open a bottle that had been in the cellar for a few months. It had probably been on the shelf for well over a year before that...Carbonation was lower, mouthfeel was almost like a fruit juice. It seemed slightly syrupy and sweet. The bottle didn't go over so well with the group.

Appearance- Hazy golden pour, good head with light bubles.
Smell- Smells like a very malty beer. (Not my favorite smell, but it's a good smelling for a golden ale)
Taste- Sweeter tasting beer with a slight carbonation taste. A little bitter tasting towards the end and leaves a dry feeling afterwards.
Mouthfeel- Carbonation feel immediately, followed by a crisp flavor, and finishes dry.
Overall- I love belgian style ales. This one didn't disappoint!! I didn't like how the ending was as dry as it was but still very good. Would have again.

Big ol' ceramic bottle with swing top, labeled as "Monsters" and a perfect Halloween brew, I figure. It is clear pale gold in color with a frothy white head and very active carbonation. Looks like champagne. Smell is sugar, caramel, oranges, and grass. The taste is toffee and caramel malt, with a slight spicy finish. Very balanced and very good :) It is very carbonated with a nice slickness that holds it in check. Very very nice, malty and sweet without being cloying. This gives Duvel a serious run for its money.

Slightly hazy lemon blonde with pitted lacey white head. Tangy yeast on the nose - a bit of lemon, bit of clove, bit of wax.
Dusty lemon, Saltines, some wax, a bit of white peach, and an herbal cough drop ending.
Lemon rind sorbet finish and more wax lingers. Dry, crisp, a bit of heat.
Brewed by Duvel/Moortgat, I believe.
Too lean, too hot and a strange compote thing going on. Too estery? Average blonde.

A= Beer pours a nice hazy golden color with a finger of nice white head on it that holds solid lacing and retenion with some spotty lacing on the side of the glass.
S= The aroma is a solid malty aroma without much hop character and a bit of a sweet malt. Somewhat quite in the nose with maybe a bit of a yeast spice.
T= The taste is as I thought a nice light Belgian yeast taste with a little bit of bubblegum without being out of hand as well as some slight grain flavor and little to no hop profile. Solid and refreshing sort of reminds me of Duvel only a little less bright.
M= Solid carbonation
O= This is a solid beer in a sweet bottle. Bought for the bottle and I will likely buy it again for the bottle and the beer inside is tasty. A fine example of a Belgian Golden Ale. Not as good as Duvel but worth checking out.

Poured this into a tulip glass, and the brew makes a good strong three finger thick bright white foam presentation, and the body is hazy with a nice golden color.
The aroma is grains, sugar, orange with a twist of lemon.
The taste is of powdered sugar... Kind of like original bubble gum flavor. There is honey, metallic qualities, and orange rind is detectable.
Feels well carbonated, powdery dry, and slightly warm in the end.

Poured from the ceramic 'Monsters' bottle a hazy lemon yellow with two fingers of off-white head.
Sweet aroma of fruit cocktail, light spice and Belgian yeast.
Like the aroma, the taste is sweet and fruity with apple and white grapes. A light spicy yeast note carries to the finish.
Medium bodied and dry with a sharper carbonation.
This was an easy one to enjoy. A bit pricy ($19) but worth it.

Poured from a 22 oz. ceramic Monsters bottle into a tulip.
Appearance: Out of a very unique 'Monsters' flip top ceramic bottle, this pours a hazy golden tangerine color. Lots of resplendent carbonation refreshes a creamy white head. Initially a large cap rests on top, but a thinner film remains for the duration of the glass. Nice lace down the sides of the glass.
Smell: The aroma is fairly sweet. White grape and green apple work with a honey sweet pale malt to provide this effect.
Taste: The flavor is fairly sweet as well. A gentle honey sweetness and bready malt carries the flavor into the fruit. White grapes and green apples and then a vague spiciness. The end of the sip has a slightly medicinal flavor and remains sweet.
Mouthfeel: The body of this beer is on the fuller side of medium. The carbonation is soft and creamy smooth. A grainy feel exists in each sip.
Overall: Without a ton of complexity, this ends up being a fairly plain, fairly sweet Belgian Strong Pale Ale. The best thing about it is the bottle. But since that was the reason I picked it up in the first place, I don't really have much to complain about.

750ml into a tulip. Pours a slightly hazy dull light yellow, minor dense head, ok lacing.
Aroma is mild yeast and minor light skinned fruits plus a hint of citrus.
Taste is undefined, lacks focus. Barely sweet, barely dry, barely bitter. The taste is barely. Only at room temp does this have personality. Thin smooth mouthfeel.
cheers

I assume that this is the same beer, just different "labeling" on the crockery bottle.
This bottle features screenprinted drawings, "Monsters," on the front and back by renowned underground comics artist Mat Brinkman.
Inside, I think it's the same 7.2 percent "kruikenbier."
Poured into a MJ tasting glass (tulip).
Pours a clear golden with a huge, stark white head of over three fingers. Takes a while for it to drop. Leaves some lacing.
Aromas of spicy yeast, no real hop or malt aroma. Some hard candy sweetness.
Flavor of tobacco, lemon zest, peppery spice, a light anise note. Good bitterness. Not assertive. Finish is long, and lingers around the licorise. Odd for such a light colored beer.
Mouthfeel is medium, creamy, with a light prickle from the carbonation.
Very drinkable. I remember having this years ago, in the original packaging. Same flavor I remember. The alcohol in this one will sneak up on you. A little pricey, but worth seeking out.

Appearance: Pours a clouded, milky yellow body with a modestly-sized, fizzly white head.
Smell: Aroma of lightly grainy malts and sugary cereals. Slim notes of lemon zest, meadow flowers, spice, and white peaches, which attaches to a waft of alcohol giving a little sniff of schnapps.
Taste: Light pale maltiness, perhaps a bit of pils in the mix, with a moderate sweetness to it. A sousing with water, then a slip of alcohol. Fruitiness of white peaches and soft lemon. Only a slight bitterness is felt. vague peppery spiciness. A bit of enduring sweetness for the lightly acidic, lightly warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A beer that never really grabbed me, instead one I just got through, like paying bills or doing the laundry. I found it to be less than appealing and pretty forgettable. You might like it though!

Pale yellow pour, sticky white head. The thin layer retains well enough.
Very grassy aroma, light funk. Some malt, light fruit and spice.
Taste, tons of pale malt. Musty grass/lemongrass. A pleasant spiciness, not really sure how to describe the detail. Finishes with the a dry pale mustiness.
Light bodied, alcohol is well hidden. A little thin, but that helps with the drinkability which is good. Not something I normally drink, but pretty enjoyable.

The Monsters bottle by Mat Brinkman.
Nose is delicately sweet and floral, mildly sour & malty. Smells nice.
Pours clear golden with massive head. Looks great.
Big crystal malt kind of base with floral/herbal hops to bring a nice balancing bitterness. Some funky Belgian yeastiness befitting of the monsters on the bottle - spicy cool/menthol, anise, and lemon.
Pretty good. Not worth the price, even with the cool bottle.
