Draft to Pint
@Tampa Bay Waterside Marriot
App- A very dark orange with a mid brown center. A small 1/2 finger of head that was off white in color with some spotty cling.
Smell- This was very crisp and clean. Good lager notes but a bit more malty as it should with style. Full and a bit rich with citrus.
Taste- It's a lager or a red ale? Has both qualities split down the middle. More smooth than traditional but has lager notes and more of a body but still retains citrus red ale malts.
Mouth- Medium bodied and medium carbonation with a full malt residual flavor.
Drink- For what this is, its a very nice beer. Smooth, rich and flavorful. Like a Fat tire but better.

Served in pint glass
Appearance – Served a golden amber color with a medium white head. The head faded fast and gave way to little to no lacing.
Smell – The aroma is very faint. There is a slight roast malt and a little bit of corn and caramel aroma.
Taste- The taste is a mix of corn and a little roasted malt that persist the entire time. Up front a small amount of bitterness is detected, mainly roasted malt flavor in nature, but an ever so lighter bitter hop flavor is there as well. Toward the end, there is a light caramel flavor that works it way in, which with the malt and corn, finish the taste.
Mouthfeel – Medium to light bodied with an average level of carbonation. Nothing special.
Overall – It is very good for its price, but overall nothing really too spectacular. A good cheaper session or tailgating brew.

Poured from a pitcher into a pint glass. Pours a dark amber with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of sweet malt and not terribly much else. Tastes of sweet malt and light hops. Goes down easy with light carbonation and light bodied. Overall a decent beer for the typical bar scene.

Had on tap in Pittsburgh. Copper color and light head. Head dissipates quickly.
Odor is a little weak. Not much to it. Some yeast and a little malt maybe.
Taste is not bad. Some caramel notes and yeast. Some bread like qualities.
Mouth feel is kind of weak. Goes away pretty quickly with no real trace left.

Enjoyed on tap at a Predators game in Nashville at Bridgestone Areana.
Beer pours a nice copper amber color with just a bit of white head.
No real smells to speak of except for a bit of corn and malt.
Beer tastes carmelly sweet initially before have a nice dry, corn finish. Finishes well.
Fair amount of carbonation and very easy drinking.
Solid session beer. Old reliable.

Very amber. Crystal clear. Meager head with no retention.
Lightly toasted crackery malts. Slight earthy hop jolt almost not worth mentioning. Muddled malt character with a pronunciation of the lager yeast.
A little damp. Muddy tones mixed with a tad sweet caramel malt. Sourdough bread crusts, wet cloth. Spritzy hop meshes well with the playful carbonation. Cidery tinges. Thin-bodied with a crisp bite and bountiful drinkability.
A local standard. Paying respect to America's oldest brewery almost weekly.

Poured on tap to a clear amber color, some off-white head, some lacing. Smelled roasted malts, biscuity, a tad yeasty; not much. Taste is good; moderate biscuit/malty flavour, a little yeast taste, some sweetness. Mouthfeel is smooth, moderate body with some carbonation. Overall a solid beer. I enjoy it when I'm looking for something decent for a good price.

I've had this beer on draft many times, but have never reviewed it. Here goes...
Decided to start with an old standby as I watched my Packers put a beating on the Vikings. Came out a pale amber/gold with a thin wispy head capping it off. The glass was not frozen as I had expected. Kudos! The nose is grainy at best, mild leafy green aromas. Simple.
Smooth and refreshing are terms that come to mind as I gulp this one. Easy drinker here. Nice mellow flavors of grains, light bitter bite, and a sweet finish. This beer itches me where I scratch time and again. Whether it's draft, can, or bottle, this is a beer I will continue to revisit. Simple. Refreshing. Tasty.

A: shiny amber/orange body, finger bubbly white head,
patchy lacing
S: sweet malt, hint of lemon, nuts, caramel
T: caramel, nuts, malt, semi-crisp finish
M: light body, big carbonation, semi-dry mouth
O: Have heard an awful lot about this common
macro/craft brew from East Coasters living in Chicago.
Thought why not, not bad. Better than
American typical macro beers.
OK, NOT BAD!

I have had this many times in the bottle or in a can on hot summer days and have always enjoyed it. This was my first time having it on a temperate day.
A-Nice solid dark brown with little head, straight from a just tapped keg.
S-Smells like every other average bmc beer out there. Grainy and like old mushrooms.
T-Tastes like the smell of good beer that has been sitting out for a few days.
M-Smooth, medium carbonation. Meh.
O-I do not have any desire to have a yuengling on tap again. I will have it in the summer to quench thirst but that really is it. No idea why everyone is so gaga over this beer in ohio. I would rather have a bud light. Even in regard to style, this beer really has no defining qualities to separate it from the swill besides its color.

Being originally from PA, I’ve been drinking Yuengling for many years and finally decided to give it a review. Poured from a freshly tapped 1/4 keg from my dual-tap basement bar kegerator into a standard pint glass.
Appearance: A clear amber pour, slightly tilted, got me a 1/4" head which quickly diminished to a thin off-white ring.
Smell: Mildy sweet and malty/bread aroma. I also detect a hint of caramel and mild grains. Not much going on here, but then again, I wasn't expecting much either.
Taste: As with the smell, mild malty/bready sweetness with light caramel and very mild.
Mouthfeel: Very crisp and clean for this light bodied lager. Moderate to high carbonation gives it a soda-like tingly feeling on the tongue.
Overall: A very easy drinking, reasonably priced and readily available lager. This is a "benchmark session beer" in my opinion. For some reason, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it in a bottle, as I think Yuengling tastes much better from the tap. Several 1/4 kegs of Yuengling will make its way to my kegerator throughout the year when I need to keep a good "session beer" on hand.

I'd probably attribute this beer as being my gateway to drinking so I do have a soft spot for it and probably a bias as well. Not sure how my perspective on this would be affected if I first discovered this beer after getting turned on to more sophisticated beers but I do know that every time I return back East I make sure to pick some up and still enjoy it.
Has a nice amber appearance with some carbonation and a minimal head. Not much to the smell department. Taste is an overall earthy flavor that pairs with some sweetness.. Some carbonation in the mouthfeel, and can be a little watery. Its body is on the lighter side but a little thicker than most of the lager style, imo.
For me, this beer is about the sum being better than the actual parts. This is my most perfect sessionable beer for those times I just want to sit back, drink, and hang out.
Like many have already mentioned, part of the allure of this beer is its history and relevance to the region. Honestly, there was always something unique about being able to just ask for a lager and be handed a Yuengling.

Disclaimer: I am a PA native and "grew" up on Lager...Yuengling Lager.
Pours a refreshing light brown golden color. Smell is classic lager, malty and an abscence of hops.
Taste is refreshing, slightly bitter, yet smooth.

A- Pours a clear amber with a small white head. Minimal lacing.
S- The smell is of light caramel and bread crust.
T- It has a sweet bready flavor throughout with light caramel and nutty characters poking through from time to time.
M- Medium-light body, medium high carbonation.
O- Yuengling is just an easy drinking reasnonably good tasting lager. Not a bad choice.

16 oz. pour into a pint glass. I can remember the price ($2), but I'll be damned if I can recall the name of the sports bar in which I drank it. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a clear, almost water-translucent copper shade. Tiny white head that leaves little to no lacing around the glass.
The smell is very malty, far sweeter than I expected. There is a slight hint of grassy hops, but that amber ale malt is at the forefront. I wouldn't necessarily call it an aromatic beer, as the smell itself is fairly weak, but its definitely inoffensive.
The taste follows up closely on the smell. A straightforward malt backbone provides a pretty clear sweetness. There's also a touch of corn here not unlike an AAL. It seems a little watery, a little lifeless.
The mouthfeel is just OK, thin and, predictably, watery. An easy drinker for sure, though not a particularly pleasurable one.
Average in just about every way for me. I can't quite appreciate the fanatic devotion many have for this beer, but then again I wasn't rooting for the Iggles, either.

Served on tap into a weizen glass
A- Pours a very clear light amber color with a one finger soapy head that left no lace.
S- Light aroma, mostly sweet malt and some fruity esters
T- Some sweet malt, caramel, fruity esters, and graininess. Slightly strange aftertaste though.
T- Smooth, prickly carbonation
O- I never understood why people drove out of state to get this beer with all great beers available in Ohio. It is a great value for the price though. It is a beer that you would say tastes like beer.

This was my "good" beer in college....and now it is available everywhere in NYC!! A very easy-drinking amber lager with a nice flavor, light mouthfeel and a very clean finish, this beer is a solid mid-shelf beer that is a staple of Steeler games!

First had: ?
I pretty much grew up on this beer before I expanded my horizons. It's not a GREAT beer by any measure, and elitist bars even classify it with Bud and Miller. And I don't really think that's fair, because it's much better than those. I'll still drink it if I have to, but such an occasion rarely arises anymore.
Pours a clear amber with a white head, varying in size with the pour, with not much to speak of in regards to retention or lacing. Grainy aroma, with hints of caramel malts. Bready taste, caramel malts, easy-going floral hops. Can be a bit metallic, varying depending on freshness and the source from whence you acquired it. Light bodied and fairly drinkable, but only if there's nothing else available (not including the typical macros).

Tapped into a pint glass.
Appearance - Clear, slightly hazy copper body with barely off-white head. Low lacing.
Smell - Almost no smell. Sweet, malty body with slight hop.
Taste - Watery and mostly flavorless but has some hints of malt and slight earthy musk.
Mouthfeel - Slight effervescence. Mostly watery. Meh. But typical for style.
Overall Drinkability - Better on draft than bottle. maybe. My opinion on that flipped a couple times before I finished. In style it's good. Beats BMC at least, I guess. Not sure what the hype is about it though.

A- Tapped from the beer wagon to a pitcher to my clear plastic cup... that's right, plastic cup. Starts with a decent head with ok retention and some light spotted lacing. Beer is a nice crisp amber color with light activity
S- Not too much to smell... little grainy, bread, and hints of sweet malt
T- Has a bready, grainy taste from start to finish with some malty sweetness joining in for the finish. Pretty much no hop aspect to it
M- Full bodied with medium carbonation
O- I grew up on this beer... it was our 'good' beer for campfire's and cookouts in high school when we weren't drinking Old Milwaukee pounders and $10 cases of RedDog. All in all, it's a respectable beer when factoring price into the equation. Today it's my saving grace at this wedding in bumblefuck Schullkyll county

Having had Yuengling Lager many times on-tap, bottle and from the can I think it's best enjoyed on draft. Poured into a 16 ounce standard pint glass.
A: Clear amber/copper colored body with a very small bubbly white head. The dissipation is extremely rapid and leaves no lacing or retention anywhere in the glass. It's perhaps a bit dull in its overall appearance but you can tell this has a bit more quality behind it than most other lagers.
S: There's not much to say in terms of aromas, it's fairly grainy and very light, slightly toasted malts. It certainly has a sweetness to it from seemingly both the malts and yeast. A touch of yeast in the back end of the aroma but overall it's okay.
T: Immediate sweet malts up front followed by the faintest hop "ting" I've ever had in a lager. By no means is this focused on but it's there if you can pick it out. More grains and a touch of ripened apple mid to back palate. It's very one-dimensional I will say but for some reason I like it. It's nice and refreshing.
M: Highly active carbonation, very bubbly and easily on the lighter end of a medium-bodied beer but really nice for the style. This isn't over the top amazing but I think it fits the bill without being watery.
I might be biased because of how close I am to the brewery but this is essentially a staple in my area. If you're out at any bar without a craft beer selection, you can always count on Yuengling being available - a beer I'd gladly take any day.

I ordered this on tap at a restaurant, so I had no control over the pour, but there was no head at all. Color was amber with a slight reddish hue. No lacing left on the glass at all. The smell was unimpressive - a vague malty smell with a slight skunkiness. My wife was complaining about the smell from across the table. Taste was nothing special, but not offensive - a grainy flavor mostly, nothing complex. Thin and uninspiring mouthfeel. Better than most mainstream lagers, but I'd not get it again.

I grew up on this stuff 30 years ago before it was cool to like it. On par with Gibbons, Reading etc, a local brew that went mainstream in NC with great publicity. A little wierd funky flavor, a little too oaky which I don't like with a lighter lager style. Better than the big 3, but not as drinkable as PBR or Schlitz. Not even a really great outdoors style beer in the heat where brew in this catagory shine. Call it what they will but it's still an AAL.

Arrived a deep amber, no head, but with obvious carbonation bubbles. Smells rather grainy with only a slight hint of malts. Taste is grainy with mild malt notes; there is only a hint of hops in the finish. This beer is heavily carbonated lending to lighter mouthfeel.
Not a great beer, but better than any BMC mass-produced lager. Easily drinkable and cheap, it's my go to tailgate beer.
