A fairly upscale airport restaurant, as they go, with a featured wine list and a fair beer selection for an airport terminal establishment. I didn't eat anything but the food appeared pretty tastey and offered a wide variety of choices. The draft choices for brews included three locals; Summit Extra Pale Ale & Oktoberfest and Surly Bender, along with 5 other decent macros. Bottled choices included Affligem Blond, Moose Drool, Hacker Pschorr Weisse, Chimay Red, SN Pale Ale, and Witterkerke among other more common varieties. They were out of the Surly's to my dismay, but it was extremely busy with the Republican convention exodus. It's a comfortable atmosphere when not innundated with conventioneers. Service was not great due to the circumstances but Shane did give me a free pint for our patience. For an airport, the beer selection is one of the better I've encountered. The value is reasonable for an airport venue (not cheap). Though not what I would call a "beer bar" exactly, I am guessing that this is the best beer choice at the airport from what I have seen of MSP. I was glad to have found it and just wish they hadn't run out of the Surly's.

To review as a beer bar or an airport bar? That is the question: while it stands head and shoulders above air-fare, I wouldn't step foot in Ike's on the Outside, and not only because I'm vegetarian.
Eight taps on my visit; three locals, two macros, and three import/micros. I happen to love Surly Bender so I was happy. However, quality and selection severely lacking if this were the real world.
Pleasant atmosphere no matter what. Very Midwest: meat-centric, unbelievably nice people, and reproducible granite- and-wood decor. Service at the bar was freakishly fast - I would have
my servers hopping too if the beers were flowing at $6.99 for a nonic pint ( nice touch by the way).
Love the local brews and the hoistable pints. Dislike the abundance of charred animal flesh and the prices. More than a wash: if you're stuck in MPL for more than 25 minutes you need to drop by.
