Notes:
Our lightest beer, the beer appears yellow with a slight cloudiness and is topped by a rich white head. The Wag's Wheat has a bread like flavor from the malted wheat, backed by citrus undertones. Our interpretation of the American Wheat beer style is light and very refreshing to drink. For additional refreshment try adding a slice of lime or lemon to the beer.

I was served this Hefeweizen in a pint glass on tap. This Hefe was a clear yellow color and it produced a decent 2 finger white head. The head retention was average and it did leave some lacing. The aroma was light with notes of wheat and citrus. The taste of the Hefeweizen had a base of malted grain, wheat and it had slight tones of citrus gave way to a smooth finish. It is a good summer beer, merely average.

Served at the Madison area restaurant on tap
A - More orange than I remember, some pale highlights, opaque. Bits of pulp floating in the beer.
S - Way too much citrus, some cereals, no hops.
T - Orange juice in shredded wheat
M - Medium. I remember it being a light mouthfeel before but now it's getting heavier. Carbonation is fine.
O - It seems with this batch they forgot the citrus addition during brewing and "fixed" it by pouring orange juice into the beer upon serving. It's too bad because I remember this being a fairly decent wheat beer but now it's a mish mash of orange pulp, citrus sugar, and the remnants of a beer recipe. Undrinkable.

Reviewed from tasting notes.
Transparent pilsner light yellow transparent straw color, one finger of relatively stable head with small loops of lacing. Light and thin body, heavy fizzy carbonation made me feel gassy and bloated with each sip. Way too much carbonation.
Tastes and smells faintly of mild earthy noble hops with a little bit of wheat malt sweetness that marginally dries up towards the finish with some ghostly citrus peel. If the carbonation is going to be this high, the flavors and aroma should be at least a factor of ten higher than what they are here in order to punch through the distracting fizziness.
My suggestion is either to reduce the carbonation levels or boost the flavor / aroma accordingly. Actually, do both. As it is, my beer should *not* be like a spritzey mineral water.

Reviewed from notes.
Hazy yellow with a white foamy head, with decent retention and lacing. The taste and aroma are both similar, with wheat, grain. and citrus.
Light to medium bodied, well carbonated. Not much of an aftertaste. Not bad or stellar, just decent.

This is a solid wheat beer for those wanting something light. If you have a friend who is less adventurous in beer, this is a good one. If you want a "Blue Moon" experience, have the bar put a shot of orange juice in the beer. I like GC food and their beers are solid examples of the style they represent. The fake Blue Moon makes my wife happy so I cannot complain!
In the Summer, I like to have a Wags Wheat with their pizza. A great combination.

Sampled at the GC brewpub in SLP, Minnesota as part of an 8-pour flight.
Poured a clear gold with a light head that dissipated quickly with no lacing. Smells were lightly wheat and grain and that's about it. Taste was wheat and grain, lightly citric. Mouthfeel was all about carbonation. Finish was clean. In all respects a completely average brew.

The Wag's wheat beer at GC was pretty good. The beer poured a hazy redish tan color that had decent white head that laced. The scent included spice and hints of grain and malt. The taste included a neat spice...almost like a cinnemon there was also good malt and nice balance. Mouthfeel was light to medium body with good carbonation. Overall I thought it was a decent wheat beer. Certainly could session.
