750ml bottle, best before march 2013
First fermentation with lactic acid bacteria, second fermentation with champagne yeast. It's slightly sour but it does not have much in common with flanders red ales or oud bruins. Also, elderflower is added to the beer. Very hard to define this. The brewery itself calls it an aperitif beer, i'll go with BSPA given colour and ABV and also given it is a quite broad style in terms of what could fit in it
A- Bright yellow colour, a bit of hazyness. Just a slight hint of bubbly white head even with quite hard pouring. It immediately disappears, no lacing at all. Some carbonation bubbles going up. Not really attractive
S- Very sweet aroma. What is dominant is a distinct lemon note, with a flowery feel to back. Also a sour hint
T- Very sweet as the smell suggested. The sour note that was noticed in the aroma is now a bit stronger, but still overall on the background of things. The main role is played by fruity notes of lemon and apple. Again maybe a slight flowery feel. Overall this beer has a lot in common with ciders
M- Very thin mouthfeel. Very light in body (expecially given the 8%ABV), just a touch of gentle carbonation on the tongue. Syrupy. You are actually forced to wonder why the 8%ABV. Feels like they could have obtained the same result (a decent appetizer beer with a light feel to it) with an ABV around 4-5%
O- A peculiar beer, but actually nothing really expectional or particullary worth noticing. Nicely drinkable and pleasant
