Serving Temperature, 50 degrees farenheit. Serving Glassware, 12 ounce Tulip.
Inferno pours a strong white foamy head that is reddish and yellow with a clarity underneath a whipped egg white of foam along the glass.
A wafting of lemon and white grapes and a dash of spice and some vanilla aroma is present.
Dry pears and coriander along with some white spices dance across the tongue. Overall mouthfeel is medium.
Anyone got any cheesecake?
Cheers

750ml bottle, dated 10/26/2011.
Orange-amber in color, slightly hazy. Head is comprised of 2+ fingers worth of sticky foam that leaves quite a bit of lacing behind. Very good head retention with a skin of white foam that lasts for ages. Typical aroma of a Belgian yeast strain at first, followed by a foreboding overall fruity and malty character that declares this to be more than a run of the mill Belgian pale ale. Candied apple and assorted ripe fruit notes. I wish these were less muted, then this would score higher in the aroma dept.
Flavor is semi-dry with a nice malt backbone. Becomes drier on the finish with a mild hop bitterness. Mild alcohol warmth, plus a bit of alcohol flavor on the finish. Fruity esters combine with malty sweetness to yield a robust flavor profile for a pale Belgian. Figs, dates, golden raisins, and ripened, dried apple are among the flavor notes. Texture is soft and smooth with abundant carbonation, though a bit prickly.
Another well-done Lost Abbey brew. I'm sure a year and half in the bottle did this some favors, so your mileage may vary with a young bottle.

A - Beautiful, hazy golden hue. Even with a slow pour, two finger head is produced. Plenty of lacing.
S - Strong Belgian yeast scent right off the bat. Spicy, fruity, banana.
T - Poured pretty cold. Flavors come alive as it warms up. Yeasty spiciness. Not so much fruit. Alcohol is a present but integrated well.
M - Very good carbonation. Light mouthfeel with not much of a lingering finish. Very refreshing.
O - A good expression of a Belgian strong. Not a ton of depth but refreshing and delicious.
