Stopped by here on a Thursday night to check it out with friends. Small, narrow bar downstairs, with an upstairs mainly for dining. Downstairs was quite loud, as there were a lot of people in this cramped space and the music was on a bit too loud. Very plain looking bar, nothing eye catching. Service was decent, as I was approached as soon as I joined my friends. But not once were we offered another drink. Odd, so we only stayed for one. Selection was by far the weakest I've seen in a while. They only have 5 taps: Guinness, Stella, Harpoon IPA, Harpoon Celtic Ale, and some house "witch" brew. Bottled beers were not readily visible from our spot at the bar. Pints were $5. There are dozens of better Irish bars than this joint. This place sticks out like a sore thumb in the North End. I have no idea why this place is on beeradvocate. Not worthy.

I'm Pretty sure the only reason this place is included here in beerfly is because they've had a few beer dinners.
The vibe in here has really changed for the worse in the last couple years as it used to have a nice neighborhood bar feel and now its a bunch of 20-somethings that think they know everything.
The staff has always been good though especially some of the long timers. They used to turn over the staff a lot more frequently than they do now. The beer selection is pretty hurtin',they did have Radeberger and Harpoon Oktoberfest when I was there recently but the bottle selection is worse than that for a craft beer fan.
The wings have always been real good but everything else has been hit or miss. Its been open close to 10 yrs at this point :)
This was a cursed piece of real estate before that.

I've been to Goody Glover's several times over the years and for some reason finally decided to log a review. It's always been that first stop for a beer or drink before entering the North End. Typical for the situation, I had plans last night on having dinner later in the evening, but wanted to start off with a couple of pre-dinner beverages. Cue up 'Goody Glover's'
There is nothing special about this place, make no mistake about that. Honestly, I'm scratching my head as to how this place ever made it into BA. The location is awesome though and why question a good thing?
Goody Glover's is located on the outskirts or entrance (depending on how you look at it) of the North End. I feel like it's the kind of bar that people have been to, but don't necessarily remember the name of the place, yet make it a priority to return.
The space and bar area is small and intimate, with the lighting best described as dimly lit. I've always felt comfortable here, with an accommodating vibe in the air. You can expect 5 taps with selections like Harpoon IPA & Winter Warmer, Guinness, Sam Adams Lager and Blue Moon. The bottles are predictable crust options like Amstel Light, Heineken, Budweiser, Miller High Life, etc. They have a full bar and wine as well.
Service was friendly and responsive during my visit. I know I'll be back again, but not a craft beer destination.

This place is a tourist trap. They make money of off people who dont know any better. Food looked decent but I didn't have any, since we only stopped for drinks. We were todl to make ourselves at home and sit were we liked. There was only on server. She proceeded to ignore us for 30 min. Then finally took our drink orders. I had some Harpoon brews and my girl had a Stella. The server proceeded to ignore our drink orders again and then had the "onions" to come back and ask if we could repeat our drinks order because they "didn't go through". WTF.
The food other people ordered looked appetizing but we had plans of eating at some other establishment.
Overall I will never go to this place again.
