My favorite bar in Los Angeles. Selection is the best in the city and they always seem to have some sort of great specialty event each week. Love the Brown Bag nights (amazing bottle shares each month) and the Firestone anniversary verticals have thankfully become an annual tradition.

Beer prices are mostly in the $6-7 range but there are plenty of amazing deals from $3 happy hour to $4 Thursdays and Sundays to $.35 wing night to the $9 beer sampler.

Food is the weak point but the sausages are interesting and Liars Fuego Melt is a solid sandwich.

If you're visiting from out of town, this is definitely a must stop when you're in LA.

I've been frequenting Blue Palms for these past couple months so I decided it's time for a review.

A very fun bar to go to. Always a decent crowd whenever I come, with plenty of TV's to watch the games I came to see, plus some good music playing.

Quality is great. Everything you could ask for. Proper glassware, clean lines, 24 taps with 1 cask is more than enough options.

Bartenders and servers are very knowledgable and attentive. I've always had phenomenal service. Whether I brought my girlfriend in for somewhat of a date or a group of coworkers for some after work drinks, they handled both very well.

The selection is very good. Always plenty of west coast offerings and a a few out of staters too. They have a good bottle list, although I'll probably never order off it since most of what they have I can get at my bottle shop for 1/4 the price.

Had the food once. It's good, but nothing to right home about.

Very reasonable bar, especially for the location. The only thing I hate about this place is the fact I have to pay for parking. You either pay $10 to park right next to it in the parking lot, or you park around the corner and have to keep coming back every 2 hours to add money to the meter. Regardless, I will continue to visit.

Atmosphere is great. Never been there when it's been too crowded but there's always a nice mix of people and always pretty busy.

Quality is outstanding. Some great food and huge list of beer. Seasonal food and daily specials are great.

Service has always been great. waitresses are usually helpful and knowledgable.

Selection is outstanding. One of the largest tap lists I've seen at an establishment before.

Food is great. I have trouble staying away from the truffle burger. One of the best I've ever had. Especially when paired with the great beer.

Can't beat all those good things for that price. Always worth the visit.

Mostly California beers on tap with IPA's and DIPA's well represented. Brian keeps everything fresh and makes personal trips up and down the coast to get the kegs as fresh as possible. He often drives out to Kern just to pick up a fresh keg of Citra.

The food is great - I recommend the lobster mac and cheese or the fuego melt (so good you remember it twice :)

Many special events and tastings here. In the past two years at Blue Palms i've seen Greg Koch from Stone, Matt Brnyldson from FW, Ken Grossman from Siera Nevada, Patrick Rue from the Bruery, and Sam Calagione from DogfishHead. The bottle list is superb with many vintage selections.

The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. It can get quite busy when there is a show next door but the crowds often vanish once the show starts.

My go to bar in the Hollywood area.

Three of us went on a Friday night for dinner.
If you don't know where it is you can miss it (there was a line getting into the next door Music Box which hid the enterance). Parking is terrible. The lot next door was charging $20! They do give you a $3 discount for parking but still!!!

The inside is on the dark side, atmosphere is a typical bar feel somewhat noisy. Place was just about full, but we got a table (the last empty). It was the start of San Fransisco beer week so lots of N Cal beers on tap (21?). Server was great at directing us to acceptable beers. Even brought tastes to help with making decisions. We ended up with Blind Pig (darn they didn't have Pliny the kid yet), Speakeasy Scarface, North Coast Scrimshaw and barrel aged Moylans Ryan O'Sllivan which we passed around for dessert.

Food was good and tasty. We had Kobe burger, BBQ pork sandwich (good sauce with a Jalipena bite), short rib in a Porter sauce. All of which we enjoyed.

Overall a good experience

Have frequented Blue Palms numerous times now to finally write a review. First off, boo cause they're Ohio State fans. LOL. Anyways on to the review. I love coming here on Thursdays for the $0.50 cent wing special. There are multiple selections on the menu from BBQ to sandwiches. There will be something for everyone to eat. They have a decent selection of beers which are bottled as well as on tap. Overall a nice place to stop by and have a beer, especially if you're in the Hollywood area. Parking is a bitch. If you want immediate access you'll have to drop $10-$20 in one of the lots if going after 6 -7pm.

Blue Palms is one of my favorite places to go for beer. The atmosphere is usually fun and intimate since it is a fairly small place. The beers are always of really good quality, with a great selection of American craft brews that are on a constantly rotating tap as well as a decent selection of Belgian bottles and reserved bottles.

The waitresses are always nice and more than willing to help you make the right beer decision. The food is also pretty good as well, with a couple of interesting sausages. And considering the quality of their beer, the prices are pretty ridiculous (especially for Los Angeles).

You should definitely check this place out!

I've been to Blue Palms many times and love the constant rotation of the taps! The selection is balanced and seems to offer something for everyone. The staff does a great job with recommendations and the service is top notch! Brian showcases new breweries and gets the best brews from the established breweries. Oh, and the food is certainly worthy of trying. Always seems to be new specials (Fuego steak sandwich, sausages are delicious) as well as the traditional menu favorites (fish tacos, burgers are awesome). Comfortable environment which I will be visiting again and again!

So I spent the weekend in LA and I had seen on BA that this was one of the places to go. Walked into the dimly lit, large room and was immediately greeted. The bar is actually quite beautifully decorated with back lit liquor and beer bottles lining the mirrored wall.

The draught and bottle list are quite impressive. I was actually more impressed with the bottle list than the draught list, and decided on an Avery Depuleceuse. The owner of Blue Palms, Brian, and I got to chatting about beers and he offered for me to try a Firestone 14 with him. It hasnt even been formally released yet! Brian is a great guy and all of the service my girlfriend and I encountered was exceptional.

Take this for what it is worth...may be worth something to you, might not be. If I was just reviewing this place based off of the beer selection (decent, but not OMG wow), the atmosphere (we went during an Ohio State game, so the place was pretty lively) and the overall vibe, this place would have scored better. But they forgot about the service.

Ill explain briefly.

Went during Ohio State football game. Im not a fan, but im also not against the team in any way. Wife ordered cask beer (special $3 during Ohio games, as posted on the screen above the bar and above the entrance). I ordered some IPA (price, $3 during the game). When we got the bill, it was double what we were expecting. Noticing this error, I brought it to the attention of the bartender and the waitress. Waitress tells me "oh, sorry, that price is just for Ohio State fans. Are you a fan?" I did not lie, so I said I was not. She said she was sorry so I would pay the full price. After brief conversation, she honored the price on the board. I just don't understand why it was even necessary for me to put the burden on them. It should not happen, and hope they get somebody in there with a brain to make a better decision the first time, next time. That being said, I will go again if I am ever in the area for the beer, but not because I like the service.
