I visited Blue Palms yesterday for the first time to go to their Jingle Bell Jubilee. The entrance is a single small door next to a venue so it might be hard to see for some. Inside there is a very nice atmosphere with lots of wood and whatnot. They have a decent amount of tables for seating. They offer around 15-20 taps including a cask most of the time (finally tried a cask!). They also have a killer bottle list if you have some extra cash to burn. The service was good especially for the crowded event. My wife and I got some food that was very good too. Very reasonable prices for the beer (I was able to get a couple of flights and some half pints - both of which I love to see at beer bars). I will definitely be back again in the future.

Thanks for koufax21 reminding me that despite having been here like a dozen times, I've never reviewed it.
First thing I really like about the atmosphere is that this is a sports loving craft beer bar. So many craft beer places shun sports, having this stereotype of avoiding dumb loud jocks. Not here, they're proud about their OSU and Steeler patronage (teams I hate, but I'd rather go to a place that supports their team v. hipster i don't follow sports douchery). Right next to the Fonda theatre (seen Aquabats & Rancid play an awesome set here).
High quality in terms of both beer selection and food. Tap list displayed largely. TVs all over. Fine wood decoration. Open spacing, never 'crowded' to the point of being a drawback. Good mix of favorites and local new stuff. Ask to see the bottle list. Some real good stuff in there. Some of it decently priced. $15 -bal aged 22oz stuff in Hollywood is amazingly priced (Old Dipsea).
Angel's share on tap, cheaper and more carbonated than in the bottle at a retail store.
Food has always been a notch above bar food.

Went here on my recent trip to LA. Went here expecting an awesome beer selection, but it was a little less than awesome. Still pretty good respectively. They had a huge tap list. Not the biggest I've seen but nearly every beer on the list was admirable. Decent looking staff. Ive heard the staff is very knowledgeable, but I didn't seek out their advice. I was in the company of some good BA's.
Started with a High Water Hop Riot and ordered my Kobe beef burger cooked in duck fat. Unreal burger. That thing didn't stand a chance against me. Sooo good. Finished up the meal by splitting a Marin Old Dipsea between our table. I concluded the night by ordering the table a round of -bal Angels Share from Lost Abbey.
All of the beers were well priced. You could find high end and low end bottles, but really quite affordable for dinner and drinks on Hollywood Blvd. I really dug this place, and will definitely be coming back next time I'm in LA.

This establishment is my favorite place to be in Los Angeles. Their selection of craft beer is really un-paralleled, 24 constantly rotating taps, one cask, and an impressive bottle list.
The Atmosphere is comfortable, slightly pub feeling, but with a modern flair. Lots of high top seating, very open room, tap lists projected on two screens.
The staff is all Cicerone certified servers, and great to discuss brew options with. They always have knowledge and opinion on their frequently changing tap list.
The beer selection is awesome. While there's always a variety, I'd say it favors IPAs often. I like that they have imports at times, as well as domestic craft beers from outside California (They almost always have Russian River on tap). They often hold tap takeovers or other events to bring in new breweries.
I've never eaten anything here I didn't like. The Buffalo Chicken dip is a great appetizer, the Fuego Steak Melt, Lobster Mac N Cheese, or Sausage Platters are all fantastic entree options.
This bar has an incredible group of Beer lovers that are there regularly, I've seen their customers share homebrews. (On one occasion a guy gave me a pour of Isabelle Proximus from his personal collection. You can't find people that nice and beer-centric anywhere else.)
Many BA'ers have mentioned their 3rd Anniversary party, which was epic (KBS and DFH 120 at same time!?!), but the Blue Palms is a fantastic stop any day. I frequently check their website (which updates with their taps) to see what's fresh, and will stop randomly, I always come away pleased.

blue palms is, and has been since its opening, the premiere beer bar in los angeles
this has to do with its constant focus on transparency and quality: live tap updates, constant tweets, accurate (and might i say impressive and thoughtful) bottle list, i can't express my admiration of brian and matt enough, and the rest of the jovial and helpful staff
it's just the right size, only really crowded on certain concert nights (or for events, but that's a beer geek crowd) and the food is tasty and perfect for pairing
their events are unique (chris q's brown bag nights? pizza port tap takeover? avery takeover? firestone specials? quadruple oui) and have a friendly, communal vibe each time

I had lunch here on a Friday, They are only open for lunch on Fri and Sun. The atmosphere is what I would call simple pub comfortable. The one thing that I did like is that they have two large LCD screens showing all of the info on the current tap offerings. No Pliny, Pliny where are you in L.A., but they did have Blind Pig so I am happy. The menu had a selection of sausages so I asked the bartender to help me select two, we decided on Wild Boar and Elk, both were wonderful and the bed of sauerkraut just made it perfect. As for the tap beer I understand it changes often, like weekly.
This is another, if I lived in L.A. I would be a regular.

I attended the Blue Palms 3rd Anniversary Party on 8/13, which was my first experience at the Blue Palms. The atmosphere was awesome, saw many familiar faces from previous events. The band was great and the DJ played a nice selection of music. I really enjoyed chatting with fellow craft beer enthusiasts about the massive selection of brews on deck. The selection of brews was truly epic, never thought I would ever taste KBS or DFH 120 which were both available. The taplist inside was also off the charts! The food was amazing. The cow leg and sausage sandwiches were great and everyone was raving about the truffle burger. The staff was great, very friendly and attentive. They were very helpful in making decisions on which beers to try. I enjoyed my experience at the Blue Palms and I will definitely be returning in the very near future.

Atmosphere: The atmosphere for the 3rd anniversary party was absolutely amazing. I meet so many great people and shared many tales and many great beers.
Quality: The quality is great everything was as fresh as any beer I have ever had. The food was of great quality as well
Service: Didn't really have to much in the way of service but everyone that was pouring beer was a pleasure to talk to and everyone was in a great mood which just made for an even better day
Selection: Not sure what the normal selection of draft beer is like but for the anniversary party it was second to none so many great one offs and amazing beers
Value: Beers are priced reasonably food is priced reasonably and you get a good amount of food for what you pay. The beer is very reasonably priced especially for the great selection not much price gouging going on
Overall: The anniversary party was absolutely fantastic and I cant wait until next year for another one. If this place wasn't an hour from me I would be there quite often and I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys beers and good food.

When I'm in the Hollywood area, this is always a great spot to stop at. They got a mean bottle selection, carrying bottles such as Temptation Batch 3, Firestone 11, and many more vintages! The food is awesome, the crowd is cool, the bartenders are chill, and the vibe is all around awesome. The bottles are a bit pricy, but being one of the few places in town to carry rarities, I see why they would charge a premium for the bottles. You won't find them anywhere else. Their events have been great too. They had Veritas 007 and Framboise de Amarosa on tap before. Definitely worth the visit!

I first went to Blue Palms after an event with the wife so was restricted to 1 beer so I could drive home. I really wanted to get a hotel room after seeing the tap/bottle list.
Atm- Not the biggest place in the world but more than gets the job done. You know its a beer bar, when 2 giant screens display the tap list.
Quality- Quality is top notch here with the people behind and in front of the bar knowing what they are doing.
Service- Quick, clean, always there if you need a fill or asking a question. Great staff here.
Selection- So many beers on tap, always rotating. So many bottles in the cooler that just blow you away.
Food- The mac N cheese. Enough said. Super good.
Value- Not bad at all. Food is good and cheap, beer is cold, in the right glass, from clean tap lines. Go if you are ever close!
