On tap at Very Nice. Pours a hazy orange/copper with diminishing tan head, some lacing. Aroma is bitter, fruity and floral hops, hints of pine. Taste is nice and hoppy up front, then fades to a gentle sweetness provided by the honey. Moderate carbonation and medium body with a slightly oily finish. An interesting IPA

You sure this is a "Single" IPA? Absolutely gorgeous appearance: amber-gold hue beneath thick, frothy, white head. Sticky lace, stubborn retention across the board.
Malty, bready aroma is enjoyable but too subtle. Gimme the blast of fruity hops I crave!
Fortunately, the taste delivers. Fresh hops spring to life and push back against a surprisingly prominent malt backbone. What? Strongly malty? In a *Single* IPA?! Yeah, man -- this is a blueprint for how the style should be brewed. Pleasant (read: mild) traces of hop resin remain after swallowing. Deserves a 4.25, rounding up.
Thick, creamy body is arguably the best I've ever had from a Single IPA. I'm rating to the style, but seriously: this brew must be mis-categorized. Regardless, this is quite tasty and deserving of praise. I'm ready for another bottle.

The beer appears transparent and light orange colored with a huge, fluffy white head. The aroma offers oranges, nectarines, hops, a touch of biscuit malt. The flavor is hop forward, with tangy citrus leading the way. Lingering bitterness in the finish, with a light alcoholic warmth. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A solid IPA.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a pint glass
A: Pours a fairly hazy brown-tinted orange. There is an off-white head which bubbles away quickly to a thin spotty cap.
S: Strong citrus notes are followed closely by a wider array of tropical fruit flavors: grapefruit, pineapple and mango. A healthy dose of pine adds a pleasant bite to the aroma.
T: The first thing I notice is some potent hop bitterness. Pine, grass and herbal flavors are complemented by some mild alcohol heat. Some citrus but not as potent as in the aroma. A fairly sweet backbone of caramel and toffee malt provide some balance.
M: Medium bodied, somewhat oily and slick. Moderate to low carbonation.
O: Another solid release from Half Acre. A good, fairly bitter IPA with a fair amount of sweet malt for balance and drinkability.

thanks to duff27 for sharing this beer tonite! thanks duff!
bomber poured into tulip glass.
Appearance: a little bit hazy yellow bodied. 1 finger of white head.
Smell: grapefruit and pine hops up front. mild spiciness almost rye like. floral and dank hops.
Taste: moderately high bitterness with a little bit of malt sweetness. pine and grapefruits. mild citrus.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. A touch syrupy when it warms. no ABV noted.
Overall: Really solid collaboration. I think this IPA is really tastey.

Short white head on murky orange colored body. Leaves a collar and thin head throughout.
Bigtime grapefruit notes off the bat. Everything you think of when thinking of a beach setting...well that's layered in there, too.
Follows the nose but with a hoppiness that'll rip yer tongue off. Mouthwatering, makes you crave the next sip.
Medium mouthfeel, good carbonation point.
Take your time enjoying this one, you almost have too. A wonderful overly hoptastic India pale ale. Great collab FFF/Half Acre! Thanks for picking this up kawilliams81!

22 oz. bomber served in a Founders snifter.
A: Pours a hazy amber color with one finger height of white foam forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin ring that leaves some splotchy lace behind.
S: Herbal dankness, mild citrus and dried grass. Light earthy onion with some cracker malt.
T: Slight dankness with some mild, dirty onion. Semi-bitter grapefruit rind. Nice herbal qualities with a hint of dried mint. There is a nice and sweet biscuit malt body that carries into the finish.
M: Medium to light bodied with a nice carbonation level. The finish is sweet.
O: Definitely ranging on the herbal side of IPA's. I appreciated the drinkability of this guy and wish it saw more production.

Half Acre Shewolf
Thanks John, been a while I drank anything from Chicago.
Pours very light and hazy, looks like a hefeweizen minus the crown. Smells somewhat hoppy, somewhat sugary. Tastes slightly bitter with a very clean bitterness, a good backbone in the middle with a light sweetness and an oddly empty finish. Also, the mouthfeel is odd: this beer is not thin and yet it feels watery, the carbonation is also low. There are hints of booze. I am really not getting this at all. Also, I think that in today's craft beer scene, you will have to make a IPA pretty rad (and good) to get any notice. This is sadly not that IPA.

Fresh bottle to FFF teku.
A - Cloudy medium orange with a big golden glow throughout. A small layer of white head formed and receded to a ring around the glass.
S -Grapefruit, peach, tangerine, pine and a slight caramel malt sweetness in the background.
T - A huge bitterness up front with grapefruit, tangerine, peach and some lighter mango flavours. A slight caramel malt sweetness is present in the background but this one is defintiely a hop-forward IIPA.
M - Medium body with lots of sticky hop oils. Light carbonation.

a: cloudy orange with foamy white 2 finger head
s: tropical fruit galore. especially grapefruit, mango, orange
t: loads of citrusy hops. some piney bitterness there too.
m: med body & carbonation.
o: Great collaboration with FFF. Aroma is top notch and the taste is right there with it. I'd put it under Galactic DDC but it is still a great IPA I hope to have a chance again to try next year.

Tired Hands chalice
A: Pours a cloudy as hell, bright yellow orange color. Basically no head. Small ring of bright white is all that sticks around. Carbonation small. Still some lacing bits and sheeting as you sip on it.
S: Tons of tropical fruit hop notes: mango, papaya, tangerine, grapefruit, etc. Minimal malt but you get a touch behind it all.
T: Nice bitterness up front on the tip of the tongue. All the delicious tropical fruits you smelled are there. Definitely a FFF brew. Hopped to hell and I love it. Minimal malts....total hop bomb. Bitter dry finish.
M: Medium bodied.

Pours cloudy orange with a small creamy white head. A little retention and good lacing.
Bold grapefruit aromas. Just a touch of sticky malt sweetness. Dank hops are abundant.
Heavenly hop bomb on the palate. Big citrus especially red grapefruit come through at first. Very little malt and a ton of hops. Finishes very bitter and dry again with a ton of grapefruit and a little bit of resin.
Medium bodied, very dry. Good carbonation.
Fantastic treat for a hophead. Reminds me a lot of Arctic Panzer Wolf. This one is very grapefruit forward and a delight to drink. Thanks to jegross2 for the bottle hookup!

Poured from a bomber into a Tired Hands wine glass.
Pours an extremely cloudy/hazy hue of honey orange with a minimal (one finger) head. Nose is loaded with citrus zest, orange, grapefruit, luscious hops... This is a fabulous smelling beer. The taste follows the nose with an added dose of piny resin. The citrus in this is just...juicy. The finish is bitter, but not overbearingly so. There's even citrus in the finish, which is odd to me. Most of the time the citrus is up front. First time I've seen it so prominent, if at all, in the finish. Overall, this is a top notch beer that Half Acre and Three Floyds hopefully bless us with again in the future.

A: golden straw color with a one finger white head of fine bubbles that gives way to a thin sheet of foam on top.
S: crazy amount of grapefruit and melon in the smell, with some sweetness and a bit of grain way back in there.
T: melon, citrus, bitterness, and a great bready back end.
M: not crisp, but kind of soft. I can't say it's undercarbonated or even a bad feel, just different from a punch-you-in-the-face IPA. Medium body, medium carbonation.
O: very solid beer indeed. Glad to have a couple more bottles. Purchased for $10 per 22 ounce at Half Acre in Chicago.

Hazy yellow-orange body. Small head. Kinda syrupy looking pour.
Huge citrus hop aroma mixed with a touch of bready malt.
Big blast of orange and grapefruit hop goodness. This one is all hops. Very smooth.
Bitterness that lingers. Medium plus body.
Overall a very solid IPA. Gets even better as it warms up a few degrees from the fridge. Very smooth at 8%

Poured from a Half Acre growler into pint glass.
A- Pours a hazy light orange with a 2 finger white head. Small blotches of lacing reside over a minute or so.
S- Citrus, nectarines or blood oranges possibly, some pine.
T- Pale malts, light citrus, spicy/earthy hop bitterness.
M- Medium body and carbonation. Slight oily/slick feel.
O- Nice IPA. Nothing earth shattering but very solid.

August 2012 vintage 22 oz. bottle poured into a Half Acre branded 20 oz. becker pint glass.
Pours a hazy gold with orangish hues and a bright white two finger head. Great retention, significant web-like lacing is present as the head recedes. Citrus bomb on the nose accented with floral notes. Opens with grapefruit rind joined by notes of mango and passionfruit and a touch of sweet malt for balance midpalate. Finishes somewhat dry with citrus rind bitterness with accents of spruce. Fairly heavy malt backbone, which is more reminiscent of a double IPA which lends to a brew that is on heavier side of medium-bodied. Silky smooth and slick mouthfeel. Fairly complex for an IPA and certainly one of the better collaborations that I've had.

From notes. Tasted in mid-August 2010 from a bomber bottle purchased at the brewery. Pours hazy pale yellow with a thick, foamy white head that has great retention. The nose is very complex with floral, resinous, citrus, and tropical fruit (mango, papaya, and pineapple) hops. There is also much more of a caramelly malt aroma than I expected given the very light color of the beer. Flavor is very hoppy with the grapefruit and tropical notes coming through nicely. Once again, the malts come through as very carameled. The body is medium with a average carbonation and a long bitter finish. This beer is quite nice with great complexity and nice balance.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a tulip glass.
Pours a golden yellow color with a touch of hop haze and a small white cap on top. some oily lacing down the side of the glass. Nice looking. There is a very distinct mango and pineapple aroma coming through on this that really smells fresh. a touch of mint on the back end as well. The taste is very crisp and bitter. Dry flavors of white wine, pine, and some peaches and mint come to mind. There is a big hoppy dryness on the finish that leaves off bitter and disjointed with little to no malt balance. There is a decent level of carbonation and overall this is very crisp but not my favorite one.

My cousin went to the brewery on release day and got me a case!
Bomber poured into 3 different snifters.
Appearance was hazy pale yellow, almost straw colored.
Smell was amazing. Pretty sure I got some cascade hops in there, very hoppy and citrusy.
Taste was just wow. Very citrus and pine with a decent bitter bite on the end. Exceptional.
This beer is highly drinkable. at 8% this beer hides its abv well. I had a third of the bottle but was longing for more.
Sidenote: The artwork on the bottle is awesome.

Thanks to spycow for the bottle!
Poured into a Goose Island pint glass. A thick, creamy, white head sits on top of a hazy, golden-yellow body. Nice waves of lacing.
Lemony citrus and sweet malts on the nose. Grassy, but mostly floral hops. Pretty nice, but the hops and overall nose seem a bit muted.
Grassy with lemon citrus on the tongue. Caramel and biscuit malts make up the backbone. Pretty good hop profile for a single IPA.
Mouthfeel is both crisp and creamy. Quite substantial for a single IPA, yet refreshing.
Drinkability is good. Putting back a bomber of this is no problem and the ABV is unnoticeable. I really liked the mouthfeel on this beer, but the nose and taste left me desiring a little more. I'd like to see a few more hops, but maybe having this fresh on-tap would fix that. Still a tasty drink as is.

Poured into a curved pint glass, an extremely cloudy muddy gold with a few fingers of thick-ish white head. Some lacing. Ok-looking. Smells slightly floral hoppy with hints of pear and honey. Some cirtus peel underneath and some grassiness. Smells are perhaps a bit faded from their initial intensity but still good ones.
Tastes very grassy and earthy. Some starchy pear-like sweetness. Hints of citrus rind, but not much. Flavors are straightforward but don't jive with one another. Mouthfeel is outstanding: creamy with a volume-adding carbonation, medium-bodied. Very refreshing. Very drinkable.
Granted this is a regular IPA and not an amped-up version, I found it to be decent. If only other regular IPAs could have the same sensuous mouthfeel.

Rather plain golden color. Ok carbonation level. Ok aroma-rather floral and citrusy. Big hop flavor-somewhat citrusy, grapefruit like. Very clean maltiness to it. Long lingering hop flavor-not so much bite but flavor. Good solid mouthfeel-has a definate smooth creaminess to it. Damn good US IPA.

Appearance: Pours a hazy straw color that verges on golden with a very impressive head that squats atop the liquid; strong retention and plenty of lace clumps
Smell: Pith, pineapple and pine; just a hint of crackery malt
Taste: The crackery malt up front creates a clean backdrop for the hops, with their fruity, pineapple and pith flavors that burst forward by mid-palate; after the swallow, the bitterness adds a touch of lemon as well as just a hint of citrusy sweetness
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Drinkability: A really nice IPA that just borders on DIPA territory; it may be a month or so past its prime but it is still fine
Wish I could remember the nice BA that included this in a recent trade

Pours a nice cloudy pale yellow color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger foamy/fizzy white head, with some sticky lacing left behind.
