Been wanting to try this one for a while now. Thanks bauermj!
Poured into a tulip.
A: Pours a nice, slightly hazy deep amber color with 2 fingers of off-white head. Heavy sheets of lacing up and down the glass.
S: Pine, tangerine, and all things citrus with some tropical fruits as well. A touch of biscuit malt on the back, but this one is all hops.
T: Big malt comes through in the first sip to balance out the citrus hops. Pine, grapefruit, and juicy tropical hop flavors shine through as I make my way through the beer. A solid, juicy, well-balanced DIPA.
M: Medium body with moderate carbonation. Sticky and resinous hops.
D: This one was hop forward, yet still balanced. Highly drinkable, with the ABV well hidden. I'd probably still prefer the original Daisy Cutter if we're talking 'to style' here, but this one was still very tasty.

Tried Daisy Cutter, tried Galactic, now it's time for Double. Pours a bright orange color, slightly hazy. Medium white head that disappears quickly. Scent is a little more weak than I had expected. Some grassy notes with piney hops and a hint of citrus. A lot of grapefruit with a bit of melon. Just a tiny bit of malt. Taste is a step above the aroma. Very well-balanced favors of citrus hops and crystal malt. The hops are't "in your face" but the flavor is quite lovely. Somewhat bittering finish that lingers on the back of the palate. Mouthfeel is crisp and a bit on the juicy side. Drinkability is very high. Overall, this is a well-balanced DIPA. I still prefer regular Daisy Cutter though.

On-tap at Lord Hobo, reviewed from notes. Served in tulip.
A- Translucent golden brown with about 2-fingers of white foamy head that has excellent retention and leaves nice layered lacing.
S- Tropical fruits of oranges, grapefruits, hops and a decent malt background that balances nicely with the tropical hoppy aroma. Decent aroma strength, but not overly aromatic.
T- Oranges, grapefruit, lightly bitter lemons, finishes with more grapefruits and lemons with a light malt background that balances very nicely.
M- Medium bodied, smooth, very easy drinking.
O- This was a great beer, but I think I still prefer the regular Daisy Cutter. This lives up to some of the better DIPAs I've had, but there isn't anything that really makes it stand out compared to them. I wish this was readily available in Boston and that I could have the chance to drink it more often.

Appearance: clear, soft orange color, beige finger of fluffy, lacy head.
Aroma: could smell the flowery hops pouring the thing! Some pine needles, early, herbal, grassy hop notes and a soft pale maltiness.
Taste: upper medium bitterness, plenty of grassy, floral hops, pine needles, resins, faint alcohol, doughy malt backbone.
***Nice resinous, oily medium body. Good drinkability pairs with one of the better portrayal of floral hop stardom!
