Served on-draught into a goblet at the Delirium Cafe in Brussels. Cost was 3.00 euro. Reviewed from notes taken in June 2012.

A: Pours a fluffy white 2.5 finger head of fair cream, great thickness, and very good (~4 minute) retention. Colour is a semitransparent dark gold.

Sm: Malted barley and slight cream. A mild strength aroma.

T: Cream and light floral hops alongside malted barley. A rather weak and simple build for a beer. Largely bland and uninspired. Balance for the two odd notes it has. Some nuts do come through lightly on the climax.

Mf: Smooth and wet, with adequate coarseness on the open. A bit too thick for its lack of flavour.

Dr: Fairly priced, but far from good quality. Very east to drink, but you wouldn't want to have more than one. I certainly don't.

Review from notes...

Pours a light gold color with minimal carbonation and lacing on the snifter glass. Fairly light in color. Nose is that of bread, malt, fruit, honey and spices. Fairly tame, and well balanced. Taste is pretty much the same profile as the nose. Not bad, but... just not great. Feel is light, dry and very drinkable. Overall, this isn't a bad brew, but you can do better in the category. Glad I got to try this on draft.

This beer is always on tap at a local beer bar and I had never had it so I figured, what the hell. Big mistake. It is probably on tap all the time because no one else will buy it.

Served in a snifter. Beer is amber and clear with a wispy white head that disappears quickly, low carbonation, low lacing, low retention, that's fine I guess.

Aroma is sweet, mild, and yeasty, mild.

Beer is thin, as expected, and finishes a little dry. Between there is an initial sweetness that fades into a dry bland back palate that screams for hops or yeast or liquor or wood or funk or anything that would make this beer better. Oh well.

Poured on tap into a tulip glass at Churchkey DC.

A head that disappears almost instantly after it is poured. A crystal clear body of light amber brown almost caramel colored, with a faint white head that leaves a small collar at least while drinking.

A very wet bouquet and a sweet smell of nutmeg. Further investigation doesn't seem to bring it back, much muted really odd here. Luckily noting unpleasant or jarring.

Taste is a mild yeast but a real interesting lager style like crispness. Almost like a crisp lager maybe even Kolsch and Beligan blonde character. A finish of swishy green apple mild sense with a fruit dry white wine component with spritzer.

Overall kind of distinct and I don't mind this but it's not really to style it seems and I can't say I would desire this again.

Posh packaged 33cl bottle (gold foil on top, orange front label), best before June 2011, poured into a 'Corsendonk' badged stemmed tulip glass in Aug 2010.

The beer was a dull orange colour and full of floating sediment, I'd stored this beer for over a year (upright and in the dark) and moved it for chilling the day before opening, yet it still came out of the botle like a torrent bringing all the sediment with it. The head was a balloning white crest, but the sediment just refused to settle in the glass.

Yeast and grainy smell, strong and heady.

The flavours were of yeast, mixed spices and mild hops, no real malt presence evident to me.

OK, but middle of the road stuff compared to a lot of Belgian Blondes. The sediment leaving the bottle and not calming down any didn't help the scores given.

Served in a tulip glass at ChurchKey.

Several around me here at the CK have been recommended this, so I figured I'd give it a shot as well. It pours a clear golden straw topped by a finger of short-lived white foam. The nose comprises lemon peel, some light florals, and coriander. The taste holds notes of citrus (generic citrus), cardamom, lemon zest, citrus hops, and some mandarin oranges. The body is light, with a moderate active carbonation and a generally refreshing feel. Overall, a decent BPA, but nothing all that special.

On-tap at Birch & Barley/ChurchKey, 3/11/2010:

The beer appeared a nice golden color, clear, with a small white head that dissipated quickly. No lacing to note.

Aroma was a mix of wheat/yeast with a hint of citrus. It was light and not really all that memorable.

The taste was decent, stronger malted barley taste than expected with a little hop and the citrus that was noted in the smell.

The beer was light, had a dry aftertaste, fairly crisp and refreshing. Overall, a fairly drinkable beer, but probably wouldn't be my first choice when ordering.

on tap at churckkey the other day.

The beer pours a striking gold color with pretty good head retention and decent lacing. I don't get a lot on the nose, just some light honey and peppery bitterness... maybe a hint of ginger. Flavors replicate the nose pretty closely in this moderately sweet, honey dominated ale. There is a hint of bitterness in the finish, but this is really a pretty light on the palate beer, with simple, easy to appreciate flavors. The alcohol is barely noticeable, and so drinkability is pretty decent.

A nice enough beer, if nothing really spectacular either.

Draught served at 48˚
Appearance is clear golden with a large head that settles slowly and leaves solid lacing.
Smell is sweat socks (in a good way), black pepper and paprika.
Taste is orange and malt with a background of coriander and a bitter finish, very well-balanced and complex.
An excellent example of an abbey style blonde ale.

A golden, orange beer with a settling, creamy head.

Smell is fruity with light metallic hints. It smells quite phenolic and has a good dose of higher alcohols. A light malty smell, that has light Maillard products, like a fresh baked bread.

Taste is fruity with exotic fruits. The higher alcohols take the attention of the nice maltiness, which is doughy and light caramellic. Bitterness is low. Aftertaste is dry and sturdy, very short and well drinkable because of that.

Appearance : Fauve, limpide (sur lie), mousse serrée peu tenace, saturation faible.
Smell : Arôme distingué, houblonné-sur, légèrement vineux.
Taste and mouthfeel : saveur boisée et aigre-douce. L'arrière-goût est d'abord aigre, puis légèrement amer.
Drinkability : Bonne bière d'abbaye blonde

BB Jun-08. Nice and lasting white head and a pale golden beercollor that's clear. Nose is liquorice, spicy and litle sour. Overal giving a sharp but strange nose for a pale ale. Wheatmalty carracter with it.
Taste is empty and sourish with litle soap and medium bitter aftertaste. Quiet alcoholic and highly carbonated makes mouthfeel even more pale and thin bodied. Easy drinkable but nothing to write home to.

A nice Belgian brew, more closer to a Wit than a Pale in my opinion.
Poured a hazy yellow/orange, with a tight white head, worked well.
Aromas of wheat, fruit, citrus, and yeast.
Tasted good, strong malt profile, little to no hop, had that yeasty character, and a load of citrus. Went down well, will have to try thier others. Not bad.

The beer after its excavation from the 330ml brown bottle takes up temporary residence in my glass a luminous gold color with a portly bright white head that is semi-creamy in texture, as it dissipates the lace forms a thin sheet of lace upon the glass. Nose is sweet malt, citrus like in crispness, fresh and pleasing to the eye and nose, start is lightly sweet start with a pleasing malt presence, the top light. Finish has a stern acidity with the hops pleasantly spicy and the aftertaste extremely dry, drinkable beer.

Gold in colour witha big fluffy head. Nose was spicy, peppery and kind of smelt like lemon scented toilet cleaner. Kind of thin on the palate, with a detergenty flavour. Not great. But i don't really expect too much any more from this brewery. A bit below average.
