Stopped by for the first time on Saturday (12-5-09). Located right of the Ventura Freeway it's a bit hard to find since the store is in the far back of the building and not facing the street. Greeted immediately on entering. Service was very good (ask for Jason). Large and varied selection. Noticed some Consecration and Temptation, but Pliny was out. Lots of other good options from Alesmith and Lost Abbey. Plenty of imports and seasonals too. Picked up a De Dolle Oerbier Special Reserva, a Fantome, and an Abyss.
Overall, a solid establishment. Highly recommend.

It is funny reading the reviews of Wades because literally everything others have said were either my exact thoughts or reactions. I actually drove to the right place, but thought I had put in the wrong address because it was an industrial area and drove back home only to find out I had in fact been in the right place. Not where I would have expected this little gem of a store to be hidden.
The service was amazing. The woman who helped me was not only cute, but was extremely knowledgeable and offered numerous suggestions of beers to fit my needs.
As many other reviewers have said, I can't believe this has been here the whole time I have been going to Bev Mo. This place is both closer and has a better selection that the two Bev Mo's I hit up every Saturday morning. They had some great things here including lots of Stone, Russian River, Hair of the Dog, Jolly Pumpkin, Oskar Blues, Trappistes Rochefort 10, etc. I can't wait to try them all!
Overall, an amazing first experience (yesterday) and am looking forward to going back Saturday morning for a beer run!

If you live in this area and you haven't checked out Wade's you are definitely missing out. Every time I come in here I get absolutely exceptional service. There is always someone who is very knowledgeable about the selection in at Wade's and they are always willing to spend a lot of time helping you find something new to taste. It is really evident from their service how much this place values its customers.
In addition to the great service, the selection is also amazing and by far the best in the area. Not only is the selection large, but it is also well organized by region, making it easy to get what you came for if you've got something particular in mind.
I regularly come in and pick up Pliny and Blind Pig, (which I know I would have to drive far for if not for Wade's) as well as something new to try that comes recommended by the staff. I have yet to be disappointed by their recommendations, and have been encouraged to try several beers that have become favorites of mine. (hop wallop, Alesmith IPA...etc) If you live close to Wade's at all, you would be insane to shop at bevmo.

I just discovered this place, thanks to my many hours of forum surfing. I will never go to BevMo again, period. This place is about two minutes away from there, and is infinitely superior. This is the only place in Ventura County (besides Ojai Bev Co.) that is worthy of a beer advocate's diverse tastes. Dave has always been very helpful, offering up awesome suggestions, and even taking time out of his busy schedule to talk beer, and he knows plenty about it. I arrived there last night (third visit) to pick up some much needed brew (Pliny, Blind Pig, Alesmith) for a trade, and showed up a little after six. They close at six, but I knocked on the door, they opened it for me, let me in, and gave me the exact same service as they would have during normal hours, rather than sit there and give me disapproving looks from the counter. Some breweries I can remember offhand are Westenphaner, RR, Bear Republic, Alesmith, Stone, Lost Abbey, Allagash, plenty of good Belgian, some German, and lots of others. This place is an oasis for CA residents who are too far from LA or SF. Don't miss it.

I found out about Wade's while whining about not finding Russian River beers locally on one of the Car forums I frequent. Some one linked me to the RR "authorized dealers" list. I found Wade's and decided to go the next day on my lunch break. It's about 2 miles from where I work. I walked in and went straight to the beer section. I almost collapsed! It was the best I'd seen locally. I picked up some Blind Pig, PtE, HotD Adam and Fred, etc... The gentleman who helped me out was very helpful and friendly. And he said they'd be getting Dogfish Head soon! I was telling my friend about Wade's and basically described it as making the local BevMo look like the beer section at a Rite-Aid. That's how much I like Wade's. I will be a life long customer as long as they keep stocking their beer the way they do. Plus when I buy too much beer, I can buy my wife a bottle of wine to shut 'er up! :)
P.S.: excellent Belgian selection as well as having stuff like 4 different Nogne-O's

Thanks to this site, otherwise I never would have known this place existed.
Located in the very back of an industrial park, it doesn't look like much from the outside. Open the door however and the place is larger than it appeared. Mostly a wine store, the beer area is in the back left.
Quality of beers was good. A number of goodies we don't get in Vegas, and while the actual number of beers wasn't huge, it was a well chosen selection.
Service was very good. I didn't get the fellow's name who helped me, but he mentioned he was probably the world's biggest beer geek and he certainly did enjoy talking beer and knew what he was talking about.
Pricing was in line with everybody else. No incredible bargains that I saw, but also no gouging going on either.
This is just off the 101 freeway, but unless you're specifically looking for it, you won't see it. Even if you are looking for it as you drive on the freeway, you still might miss it. Print out a map or write down the address and then go all the way to the back of the industrial park. Worth a stop if you live in the area or just passing through.

This place surprised me. They don't have walls of beer like Bevmo, but they have alot of quality that will keep me coming back. No shortage of helpful staff, a fridge of cold stuff ready to go, and some good stuff from the local SD area (Alesmith,Stone,Port, etc) and some I've never seen or heard of before. The only knock on this place is how hard it is to find. Not visible from the street and way back behind some industrial-like plaza. Crap load of wine and scotch too, even cigars. Skip Bevmo and check this place out!
