This place really has a great understanding of having an awesome craft beer selection. I visit family in the area often, and I love stopping in here for some brews while walking around Pismo by the pier. Just ignore all the children and noise coming from the area with all the pool and air hockey tables.

Fun place to play pool. And unexpectedly they have one of the best taplists in the county!

I was in the area and was looking for a local pour of Parabola. Hotshots had it. This is not an intimate setting - more like movie-theater-turned-into-pool-hall. On a Tuesday evening there was no crowd, and I enjoyed my multiple pours of Parabola. They have the usual bar food - fried foods & pizza. Again, I cane for the Parabola and they didn't disappoint. One note - they have a website but do not keep their Beer Board up-to-date.

This used to be an old movie theater now converted into a family type pool hall, Tons of pool tables, arcade games, t-shirt/novelty shop up front with alot of funny shirts, band shirts, all sorts of stuff. pretty good selection of beers on tap the reviewer before me pretty much covered all the beers. the food is a little pricey so i have never ate here but from what i'm told it is good food. Every time i have been here it has been packed, pismo being a tourist spot that is expected. Overall I try to make a stop here every time i'm in town.

"What is this place?", I wondered to myself when I first wandered in last week. After walking through a small T-shirt shop, I had stumbled upon some sort of adult play-land. I had heard of HotShots before, but never knew where it was or what it was all about.

The exterior is a three-story cubic building with "BILLIARDS" written on all four walls at the top. It is very easy to spot in Pismo. The inside is spacious with very high ceilings (other than the T-shirt shop in the entrance). Sports memorabilia and neon signs adorn the walls, and TVs are equally spaced throughout. HotShots has sixteen billiards tables, a good assortment of arcade games, and two air hockey tables. The bar is located at the back of the building but is very visible as soon as you enter. HotShots definitely has a family fun center atmosphere, and the bar just doesn't seem to fit in very well.

When I went last, I got a 20oz mug of Mirror Pond Pale Ale on tap for $6.50. Not a bad price when you consider 12oz usually costs about $4.00. There was also a giant 32oz mug available, which I would've gotten if I had planned on staying longer.

The selection was good, but nothing too special. Spike's in SLO is better. Still, HotShots has 30 beers on-tap and another 12 available in-bottle. The selection is as follows:

On-tap:
Hobgoblin (Wychwood)
Great White (Lost Coast)
Apricot Wheat (Lost Coast)
Tangerine Wheat (Lost Coast)
Newcastle Brown Ale
Hemp Ale (Humboldt Brewing Company)
Anchor Steam
Dos Equis Special Lager
Black Butte Porter (Deschutes Brewing)
Mirror Pond Pale Ale (Deschutes Brewing)
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Woodchuck Draft Cider
Eye Of The Hawk (Mendocino)
Red Tail Ale (Mendocino)
Bass Pale Ale
Stella Artois
Foster's Lager
Double Barrel Ale (Firestone-Walker)
Walker's Reserve (Firestone-Walker)
Stone I.P.A.
Blue Moon (Coors)
Fat Tire (New Belgium)
Skinny Dip (New Belgium)
Coors Light
Budweiser
Bud Light
Pabst Blue Ribbon
Miller Light
Guinness Draught

Bottled:
Union Jack (Firestone Walker)
Erdinger Weissbier
8 Ball Stout (Lost Coast)
Alleycat Amber (Lost Coast)
Heineken Lager Beer
Spaten Optimator
Miller Genuine Draft
...

I couldn't remember all of them, but this is a very accurate beer list. I didn't try the food, however it did look pretty good. They serve pizza, hot wings, salads, fish, etc.

It's expensive to use the pool tables, but maybe that's just me.
