Me and a friend of mine went here after much procrastinating and wished we would have sooner. Mostly when I found out Joey Redner and Wayne started this brewery up and knowing they appreciate beer greatly I KNEW this was going to be the place to go for aweome locally brewed beer.
We came here on a Saturday afternoon about 1:30pm, good time, lots of people coming in and doing their sample trays and really putting the barkeep busy!! He was running out of those little glasses and trays haha! He served though. very well. We opted for snifter glasses of something the brewery had on tap. We got their pumpkin beer, not sure what it was called and their russian imperial stout and took home 2 quarts of the oatmeal raisin. Lots of folks running in getting quarts and gallons in nice glass containers the brewery stocks.
I highly recommend going here and checking it out. The tasting room is a very nice quaint well lit bar with very good beer! I'm proud to say that I'm from Tampa moreso now that we have some great guys making excellent beer!! Thanks Joey and Wayne!

Detour around the trendy Ybor City to a real brewery with exceptional beer. Travis was in the taproom and although I tried the flight, I settled into a nice Jai Alai, followed by a Humidor Series. The Marshal Z??? is for the stout lovers. In addition to the fine beers being brewed here please note that menus are available for delivery and the secret to getting here is tell the taxi driver to turn at "Mon Venus". Something I noticed about my visit was the locals coming in for growlers. Two to four refills at a time, mostly Jai Alai. Oh for the love of Hops!

We hit up Cigar City last Saturday around 11:30 AM and really enjoyed the beers. I sampled everything they had on tap and loved pretty much everything. They had nine beers on tap. My favorites were Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout and the Humidor Series IPA. We ended up buying bottles of Guava Grove and Humidor IPA as well as a six pack of Jai Alai and a souvenir snifter. We were glad we stopped by.
Edit: We've been back several times and have had good-great service on each return trip. The selection has grown and the crowds are definitely much larger now. I can't recommend this place enough. Phenomenal beer.
EDIT II: We've been back many times and it just keeps getting better. I was lucky enough to be there last week when they had Brandy Barrel Hunahpu's on draft. I was blown away.

Serendipitously came to Tampa for work, HAD to come here after reading all the hype in the Southeast USA forums.
Did not disappoint at all, especially the beer and service. Location is in a sprawly part of Tampa behind a large strip mall in a warehouse, but it's cozy once you enter. Brewery is separated by a thin wall from the bar. Staff was friendly enough to let my group walk around where the magic happens. Saw all the brewing equipment, boxes upon boxes of Jai Alai IPA, and the brewers' extensive collection of bombers lining the upper walls (had to be in the 100s). The display of their seasonal/limited release bombers (Hunapu, several Humidor series, Zhukov) taunted me but was interesting to see the label designs up close.
Tasting Room (the bar) is all wood with ample length, seating, and tables occuping the remaining space. Had 7 taps of their brew up front, 5 taps behind including 3 guests from the region and 2 more of theirs (I think tasting room only/super limited release). Only one fella working, but he was extremely accomodating (got my friends and I a flight of ALL 9 of their offerings), knowledgeable (answered all my beer dork questions), and timely with service. Definetly didn't get ignored like previous reviewers.
Essentially Cigar City has two standards (and IPA and a Brown, Jai Alai and Maduro respectively) that they modify to create the majority of their offerings. 1st flight we had was the Maduro, Vanila Maduro, Coffee Maduro, and Oatmeal Rasin Cookie. All excellent, with the basic Maduro definitely not upstaged by any of the other offerings. I consider it a "Baltic" brown if browns had an official analog to porters: double the malty flavors of typical offerings. The coffee and oatmeal cookie were my favorites, the latter exhibiting an aftertaste JUST like a cookie. Was told by the brewer that oatmeal, cinnamon, vanilla, and raisins were added to the brew to get the effect.
Next flight was the Jai Alai, Peach Jai Alai, Humidor Jai Alai, and 110 k + OT 3rd batch (Double IPA). All excellent. The Peach contained peach tea mix brewed with Jai Alai, the Humidor was the IPA aged upon cedar (so smoooth tasting) and the DIPA was... well double their IPA. The latter was very sweet compared to what I'm expecting of the style.
The last offering was the best overall (considering my dark beer loving palate): Marshall Zhukov. Crazy coffee and chocolate flavors with a consisentcy just a hair shy of motor oil. I could have sipped my snifter all night, but I'm likely never to return so I had to have some Maduros. I was very fortunate to have this offered (an Imperial stout in the summer??!!) since it had only been tapped about a week ago. (mid July) Hope I can make it for the Barrel Aged Zhukov on the 24th.
Ended up leaving with quart's worth of growler of the coffee Maduro (a gallon would be too much for my limited time here) and a Zhukov t-shirt. Though wayyy too expensive ($20) I had to have it because of the fantastic label design.
Quart growler was $4 (+ $5-7 filled with beer depending on type), Gallon was $14 I believe + ~$20 for a fill. Pints/snifters were 4.50 for the 2 basics and $5 for everything else. They also sold bombers of their available seasonals and 6 packs of Jai Alai.

I love cigar city...I am a huge fan of what they do and how they do it. Praise God for finally giving us a legit brewery in my state. I drive about 3.5 hours every other month to hit up the brewery and say hi to all the very cool brewer's and staff.
They opened a new tasting room to the right of the brewery. (Its connected) its very nice, woodfinish bar, seating area with tables. Decent amount of taps and the menu is on the chalk board. Everyone is really nice and the beer is world class. You never know what keg they will randomly grab from the back. I usually see Tim behind the bar. He is really cool. I love cigar city! :) I am always sure to show up for a release or any special event. FL BEER PRIDE :) I never used to be able to say that! Keep brewing the good stuff CBB. Thanks Joey for all your amazing brews!!!! I think I love you.

I was lucky enough to stop here for a few beers today.
The new tasting room looks nice & has love of beer writen all over the decor
Quality on all beers was great. I liked the cherry aged big sound & 110k +3 were the best of the bunch
Service was pretty good, one guy who liked talking about their brews, stayed busy the whole time mostly with growler fills from drop in customers
Selection was good not great, they had 7 of theirs on & a guest beer from swamphead. They also had bottles & 2 types of growlers for sale, either quart or gallon sized. I understand they getting more tap lines soonish
You could order in food, but these guys didn't serve any on site
Prices weren't too bad 4.50 pints & $5 snifters of their high octane offerings. Not a bad stop all in all

When I found out that I was coming to Tampa on business, I knew I had to find a way over to this place to give it a try. I've heard so many awesome things about it that I'd kick myself in the rear if I didn't go...
Upon arriving, I thought we were in the wrong building... They are located in an old warehouse and their building isn't that big... Heading into the tasting room, I found a nice clean bar with a few customers milling around and a tap selection of 5-6 beers with several more in the bottle...
I ordered the Jai Alai, the Cedar Aged Jai Alai, the Maduro, the Vanilla Aged Maduro and the 110k + OT Batch #3 over the course of a couple of hours there and took 2 growlers and a nice snifter with me when I left...
The beer was top notch.. Everything that I tried was delicious and fresh tasting and the service was impeccable... Very attentive and knowledgable of the product.. I got to take an informal tour of the brewing area and met the head brewer while I was back there.. He was sitting back there drinking a pint of Jai Alai and we talked for a few... Very cool...
It's hard to believe the quality of beer that they're making out of this establishment... I was expecting a much bigger place...
I have nothing but positive things to say about this place... They unfortunately didn't have any Hunahpu or General Zhukov while I was there but nevertheless, I got to drink some terrific beers and had a great time..

After many visits in the past leading up to the great new tasting room, I was very excited to make my recent trip to CCB. I have not made it to Tampa since all the additions to CCB, so I was blown away by their growth in such a short time! I'll begin with atmosphere, and blend my experiences over 2 visits. Seems like a mix of customers come through the doors, from the visiting beer enthusiast to curious locals making their first trip in. I am rating it a bit lower than some of my favorite beer spots, but I think CCB is doing a great job of expanding craft beer in Florida. I fully expect to be able to raise this score in the future. The quality is impeccable. They fill growlers with the utmost care to ensure healthy storage. The quality of their beers, as is well known, is not a question either. I also must commend CCB on their hiring. I visited CCB when it was Joey & Wayne only, and am impressed that they have hired so many people that represent similar passion for quality craft beer. Very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I always have a hard time rating selection when dealing with breweries, CCB has a nice mix of their beers, and a few other taps from other FL brewers. There seems to always be some interesting treatments of their beers, as well as rather regular limited releases. They also stock a fair number of their bottled beers. There is no food, other than the tasty oatmeal raisin cookie I was given with my Oatmeal Raisin Maduro, so make sure you come with that in mind. Overall, great work in putting together an exciting customer experience. This seems like a real gem of a place for the local Tampa folks.

Conveniently located close to TPA and just off Dale Mabry. Stopped in twice during my week in Tampa, both times during the late afternoon. Atmosphere is decent -- I like the setup with plenty of space and seating and a good playlist on the stereo. Quality was high...hard to complain about super fresh CCB offerings. The Jai Alai seemed to be particularly fresh and was incredible. Bartender was really friendly and, without me asking, poured a few samples of beers before I filled up my growlers. There were 5 CCB beers on tap both times I stopped in and 3 beers from other FL breweries (Swamp Head and St. Somewhere). I guess it would be nice to have a few more CCB beers, but no complaints here. No complaints either with the prices -- $4.50 for pints of Jai Alai and Maduro, $5 pints of most other limited CCB beers. Quart growler fills ran $6 for Jai Alai and Maduro and $7 for the specials. The bottles were decently priced, but most can be found at the Whole Foods a block away for a $ or 2 less.
Great place overall -- definitely lives up to the quality of the beers CCB produces. No trip to the Tampa Bay area is complete without at least one stop here.

Well was in Gainesville in the early am and talked the wife into making a run to Tampa, and glad we did. We got there on a day where they were doing a raffle on the Barrel aged RIS, we entered but did not get lucky, anyway was crowded to the max, lol good times
Its your standard corner micro brewery and tasting room. Since I can compare the two BBC and CCB, We have to say that CCB comes out on top here also.
The bar is 90 degrees to the entrance, the restrooms are in the warehouse/brewery area, so its a hot trip trip back and forth. No smoking inside is great. The bar is nice, new of course and had about 20 chairs yesterday. Very friendly folks who actually introduced themselves!!. They had a large ratebeer crowd and a few BA folks all were very friendly. We got lucky as they had a cask of the 110k+OT Batch #3 so that was an early treat. so it s was a wild day. The beer list had 2 barrel aged RIS, in sniffer's, and you could buy 4 beers in bomber, the only beer that was hard to drink was the Gruit. which even they admitted required an open mind, I drank it and it was weird but not that terrible.
Anyway the got no food but the let you go get pizza and they usually have open tables and a less crowded Saturday but hey we love it when its crazy had a great time too bad we had to drive all the way back to Jax.
Beer list was nice, not for your average BMC drinker, yea it ran off the non craft lovers.
