Happened to be lucky enough to be having a tasting at the brewery the night this beer was released!

The appearance is somewhat cloudy and a bright orange, yellow color.

Smells fantastic! Very juicy and citrusy, I am getting a lot of grapefruit on the nose. I must y I was given a glass by someone the before they put it on the menu so I had to guess at what the fruit was.

Taste- Excellent, wow, really fruity and light with a crisp tartness on the finish. Not too over the top sour, but refreshing the kumquat really ones through nicely and is well received in the flavor.

Mouthfeel is adequate for the style, very light and carbonated. Clocking in at under 4% ABV it's it's about perfect.

If you get a chance to try this, please do, it's excellent. I could drink this one all night long!

Short review from a fly at Cigar City.
Hazy yellow/straw with a small head. Nose is mainly on citruses, refreshing. Tastes very much on citronella, kumquat is also present and tastes a bit weird here, with a slightly medicinal aftertaste, slightly sour also. Not really easy to drink but refreshing. Not very bad, but somewhat forgettable.

On-tap at Cigar City during Hunahpu weekend. Served in a snifter.

A- Pours a cloudy pale yellow, has a thin white head that recedes to a thin layer, leaves some spotty lacing.

S- Loads of kumquat in the aroma, also some tartness and wheat.

T- Nice lactic tartness, spot-on for the style, the kumquat is still very noticeable but is considerably more subtle in the flavor. A bit of wheat sweetness.

M- Light-bodied, a bit dry towards the finish, highly drinkable and refreshing.

O- A very solid Berliner, the Kumquats are great, especially in the aroma. I had this a few times over Hunahpu weekend and would definitely have it again.
