Had on-tap at the CCB Tasting Room. Reviewed from notes.
A: Pours a nice copper color, with a bit of haze. Moderate amount of light-colored head.
S: Cedar, fruity hops, a bit of roasted malt.
T: Follows the nose. Hops taste a bit more citrusy than the aroma. The cedar dryness come on near the end.
M: Good weight, less carbonation than I recall the standard Tocobaga having. Alcohol very well hidden with the amount of other flavors going on.
O: I like this somewhat better than the regular Tocobaga (which seems to be much better on tap than out of a bottle). But in my opinion the cedar doesn't compliment the Tocobaga as well as it does the Jai Alai. Still an excellent beer.

Draft at Cigar City during Hunahpu Day 2012.
Pours a dark amber/chestnut brown color with burnt orange hues and a two finger yellowish beige head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing are left behind.
Slightly smokey aroma with lots of toasted oak and cedar along with light fruit, citrus and pale malt. Hints of apple and other light fruit along with citrus rind, earthy, piney hops and pale biscuity malt.
Medium bodied but fuller than expected with a decent cedar presence up front that doesn't overpower the other flavors. Lots of dry cedar/wood countered by citrus/light fruit notes and biscuit malt. Some of the humidor series beers are overly dry and taste like toothpick but the hop and malt flavors are still prominent in this one. Some dry, resinous hop bitterness but not overdone with some citrus and light fruit character balancing things out. Subtle pale malt with touches of biscuit and graham cracker. Nicely done, well balanced beer with the cedar flavor subtly integrated.

Served from tap into a sampler imperial pint. Poured red-orange with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, wood, citrus, citrus hop, and fruit. The flavor was of sweet malt, big wood, citrus, citrus hop, subtle fruit, and pine resin. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. I really enjoyed the way this was balanced on the nose as it was very inviting. I have had some of CCBs Cedar-Aged brews in the past and usually found the cedar to be a little much for my palate. However, this brew actually did quite well with this treatment. While the wood was definitely there it was blended in with all the nice citrus notes and the touch of fruit that really helped this one out. A definite must try that if you get the opportunity as I was quite surprised by this one and really glad I was fortunate enough to try it. Tick.
